A little sneak peak at this week's upcoming lesson. A seriously deep dive into how to build your improvisational roadmap from triads. Join me as I show you my own personal approach to building licks and playing over changes and how I use my looper to immediately put these concepts into practice... warts and all! ;)

Can't wait - building upon an already stellar lesson!

David Lockwood

Checking in from Jamaica 🇯🇲 where my wife and I are hanging about and around the island. Love the music and people here. Every where we eat we are accompanied by lots of skinny island cats. I brought my cheap little Jim Dandy Gretch so it will be my guitar for “triads” deep dive!

John Olenski

so much to learn and loving it

Mark!.. Jamaica?!.. too cool man, I would love to go there! Enjoy it my friend!

Alex Farran Guitar

Nice one David, keep working hard on them... there's no limit to the scope of these things!

Diggin’ the moody vibe – Christmas is saved!

Alexander Eichmann

Love your phrasing and musical approach. Always a pleasure listening to you! You should definitely consider dropping a solo guitar album 🙌🏻🫶

So beautiful Alex!

Gert De Groof

Pickin’ up loads of Ribot vibes! Can’t go wrong 👌

Carlos Funk

Even though I'm a free man, the issue is time. What with the exercise and maintenance of the body, taking care of my guests, and learning/writing/ arranging new stuff and keep the old repertoire of the band in gigging condition, I'm still back harmonizing the major scale in all the keys.

Carlos Funk

That's not to say that I'm not looking forward to this !

Alex Farran Guitar

Haha I getcha mate, finding the time is always the hardest part! 😮‍💨

Alex Farran Guitar

Thank you Alexander (great name 😉), I really appreciate that. I solo album is currently in the works!

GoofyRaf

That’s a teaser ! Can’t wait.

Further to my comments yesterday. Great guitar playing. Sounded a bit like gypsy/jazz. If such a genre exists🤷🏻 😊

Alex Farran Guitar

Thanks David, haha yeah it's hard to give these things a little isn't it? Maybe electric gypsy jazz, or Cuban surf-noir gypsy blues?! Cuban Gypsy Spaghetti Soul?! 😂

Another perfect example of why I will be renewing my Patreon membership! Thanks again Alex, I can’t wait!!!!!

Alex Farran Guitar

Thank you mate, your support really means a lot to me! 🙏🏻🧡

Ian Cowan

Lovely Ribot style...looking forward to this a lot.

Alex Farran Guitar

Very soon indeed.. just typed out all the lesson materials and finishing the edit as we speak, then onto thumbnail design and titles etc so aiming for next weekend 😎

Christopher Em

Great news! I got a lot out of your survival guide.

Seth

How long does it typically take you to put one of those lessons together from start to posted?

Alex Farran Guitar

Man, it takes quite a while to be fair, even longer for the ones where I have to make a backing track from scratch. You have all of that side of things, including mixing and mastering etc. Then I film, usually ends up with an hour of footage and then the slow and tedious job of editing it down to a cohesive 20-30 minutes... maybe about 4 hours of editing. Then I start typing up the lesson materials which takes a good hour minimum. Then there's the whole thumbnail design which takes me at least 3 hours... and coming up with a decent title that'll help my chances of reaching further on YouTube! It's a long job, and the playing guitar is the easiest and quickest part of it! Some day I'd like to get some help on board to take the responsibility of thumbnail design and YouTube SEO. I hate that side of it!

Roy M

I need this in my life :-)

Mark Vollmer

That's an amazingly cool looking guitar!! What model is it? Stunning design
