Hi Zohar, just checked and the files are different for sure and contain different chords.. notice that the ones with the fancier chords are about double the length of the basic chord ones. The one mistake I did see though is that the subtitle for both is still "basic chords".. but that shouldn't really matter too much. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Zohar

My mistake! sorry! I saw the title and assumed they were the same files. sorry----my bad. thanks!

Great lesson, Alex. Thank you!

Preparing for Django in June. Thanks so much for the help on this one Alex. :)

My pleasure Bob, glad you found it useful! Django in June will be a blast I’m sure! 🙌🏻🍻

PS: Where do I find a cat that likes Charlie Christian? 🐈‍⬛ 🤣 🍻

Haha, I found mine hanging out in the alleyway behind a smokey jazz bar 😜

This is such a superb lesson. I think it’s one of your first if I’m correct. 6 months ago, when I joined, I remember being a bit overwhelmed by it, but now I feel really confident to take it on, and get it together in a few days, solo included, something I could only wish for back then. After one sit, I can already more or less play along with the extended chords. That triad based chord melody is really nice. Your teaching tempo seems to be bit higher in this one, lucky me you took it down a few notches since then 😄. Thanks again Alex, you brought a lot of joy into my learning process and playing. Take care.

Hi Alex, first day on your site, and I've been jumping around too much..During the chord demonstration for "I'll see you.." you mentioned "go to my second lesson, I go into quite a bit of detail.." I'd like to start with lesson 1 and go from there rather than jumping from song to song ...is there a simple way to figure out where to start/lesson 1, 2, 3..et cetera?

Gert De Groof

Ok Alex, talk to me, honestly, how many of your students that you know of (students, please feel free to chime in) are able to pull this off at full speed. I commented on this video more than a year ago, saying that I feel confident to take this on, and I did, but never been able to complete it I guess. Just started practising this one again. Chords are going pretty good, chord melody, not that hard, but man that solo 🤯🥵, the sheer speed and ease you play it, it is mind boggling. Anyway, still very eager to be able to get this one right. It has certainly enlarged my respect a thousandfold for those early swing players, and you of course.

Hello Alex

Tom

Great lesson Alex. Got the chords and melody but lead will take some time. I am listening to nothing but Charlie Christian lately. What lesson should I start with. My lead playing is slow

Tom

Charlie lesson that is
