"Have Yourself a Soulful Little Christmas" must be one of the coolest Christmas records out there. I picked this up on vinyl many moons ago and it never fails to go into rotation around the festive period every year. Some classy arrangements of many old favourites, and the usual tasty playing you come to expect from Kenny Burrell.

I'd recommend getting cosy in the evening, with a log fire burning (if you have one), and a glass of whisky at the ready, and let the record play from start to finish.

As well as the track linked above, another favourite of mine off this record is the opener, "The Little Drummer Boy"; https://youtu.be/eVi09c2kPlA?si=SYzluO-u_63Q3ixF

What are your favourite Christmas records?.. let me know down in the comments!

Cheers guys! 🍻🎅🏻

I’m with you on that Mark.. I love choral music at Christmas. And Salvation Army band versions of Carols too 🧡

I always enjoy John Fahey's Christmas records. Also love Duke Pearson's Merry Ole Soul Record. Little Drummer Boy is fantastic on that record.

Thanks Derek, a fan of John Fahey too! I haven’t heard the Duke Pearson one though so will give that a listen 🍻
