Luke's brain is something else—he literally forgot things he saw just a couple of episodes ago and made some stuff up. Imagine him watching one episode per week, he'd be extremely confused

So Danzo wants to Make Konoha more secure by ruling it with an Iron fist, to do that he needs Orochimaru or other alliances to undermine current regime while he gets in power and then to have enough information on Orochimaru so he can remove him as a threat to Konoha or himself.

Naruto has so much filler scenes and flashbacks because it was a weekly series. A normal seasonal anime episode covers like 2-3 chapters worth of content. If you get 50ish chapters a year, then it's pretty easy to do 1 season a year at that pace. The problem with weekly anime was they were putting out 1 episode a week while only 1 chapter a week was releasing. So they obviously couldn't do 2-3 chapters a week without catching up and running out of content. The solution is filler scenes like flashbacks, excessively showing people walking / running towards something, or stuff like with the third hokage and orochimaru's soul tug of war. They don't include that stuff because they think it enhances the show, they just need to waste time to meet episode length quotas without using too much content. The nuclear option of weekly anime was filler arcs, which is just 100% non-canon content the animators make up just to buy the manga time to get further ahead. I'm so happy that the weekly format has been abandoned, since it really lessens the quality of the experience. Only a few shows like One Piece still do weekly, and the amount of filler in One Piece is exactly why it's getting a remake.

Yeah. Its so sad that the "Naruto KAI" project was taken down off the internet. We really do need a cut-down edit of all of Naruto to be closer to manga-canon, minus all irrelevant filler and flashbacks. Not all flashbacks, but the vast majority of them.

Nice to catch up another stream, or more like half a stream this time😅 Good thing it’s coming another one tonight! This arc in anime it’s very slow, in anime adaptation I think it’s the worst, a lot of flashbacks which are not the same thing as a backstory

Hehe, like Luke said, wouldn't they have figured out the boy on the book with the black hair is Sai like right away... But consider this: We are looking at drawn cartoon characters looking at drawn cartoon characters. But from their perspective, they are flesh and blood human beings looking at drawn cartoon characters. It can take a bit longer for actual people to see the similarities of a stylized cartoon character to a real person!

Kai sucks tho , it cuts some necessary flashback and even some wholesome funny moments too like obv those moments sometimes it doesn’t matter to the story but it’s still needed

Binging these videos just now so I'm a little late but.. is it me or is Luke watching Naruto purely to consistently make odd remarks about every scene? When I watched Naruto, or just any show in general, I watch it to enjoy, I don't constantly pause and think about how "weird" something was. It's fiction and you're not supposed to compare a fictional word to ours to such an extreme degree, but that's an issue Luke's had for a long time now, this obsession to compare the world of a show he watches to ours.

I mean. That's the big difference between a regular anime watcher and a content creator. If his content is not transformative enough, he could easily get strikes on Youtube. Worst case, losing his channel. So it's technically a good thing to comment on everything.

Young Sai wanted to put all of his emotions into the book and let the final page represent his own feelings and their brotherly bond. So, what Sai meant when he said he forgot what to draw, is that he became so emotionally devastated, that he couldn't figure his own emotions out anymore. The source of artistic creativity. He started to become devoid of emotion, to cope with his loss. Just as Danzo intended. And how are you going to draw authentic emotions, if you don't know about emotions anymore?
