The only reason Luke was surprised by Pain's "switch" is because he didn't understand Nagato at all. I felt like he was actively trying to not understand him because he didn't like what he was doing. Everything Nagato said and did from start to finish made complete sense. From his plan with the Tailed Beast Weapon, to his speeches, to his final decision to believe in Naruto. I'm not going to explain it all in a comment because I don't want to sit here for 30 minutes but I really feel like when you're watching the arc it's explained really well, assuming you were to listen. For some reason I don't think Luke was doing that though. Maybe it's just because he was literally sitting there for 11 hours. I probably wouldn't be able to pick up on everything either after that.

Naruto games are peak and you should play them! They are somewhat like Tekken or Mortal Kombat but they tied in the entire plot of Naruto. If you do play them you have to be careful at which part to stop so not to spoil your self

I firmly believe anyone that still hates on Sakura after watching the series is just following the group at large. I think she's done alot an shippuden Sakura is a great character. As it relates to Tsunade, I think you're being a bit unfair to her. The Leaf is in a state of emergency, she's trying to direct the chaos. Garra and the 3rd were fighting when they were attached because they were direct targets so they were forced into it (I do think Garra would have gotten involved in his village anyway but that's just more to do with the set up of the Sand.)

For starters, her status as Hokage forces her to wait for everyone's reports in her office to give orders and avoid problems with the chain of command. If she moves freely and changes location, the others could have trouble finding her, and it would delay all communications. I understand, my comment was only because I wanted to defend Tsunade, even so, I don't think we should underestimate Luke's analytical skills. He's often able to notice many details and nuances that go unnoticed by many. It was obvious to me with his reactions to Made in Abyss and Erased. I've been watching him since he first reacted to something anime-related, and it was his ability to notice those details that I liked about him.

The difference is, that Gara literally wanted to fight alone since no one could help in the air. And as a result, people on the ground didn't know what to do. Tsunade is taking the opposite approach, by not getting involved right away, so she can relay orders and organize the situation. And since she remains in her room, everyone knows where to find her in case of urgent messages.

Tsunade is compared to other Hokage really weak and it's by nature of her abilities. Naruto at this point is stronger then her and would be hokage if she died at some point. We all know how story develop from here on and we know that Hokage of this generation are weaker then previous generations. It's just a fact. Chakra in the world is just too thin.

*Spoilers ahead* Naruto didn't become hokage after her, so that point is invalid, also being hokage isn't all about strength, Tsunade has done a lot outside of just fighting. So to say she's useless is just wrong.

Pain's plan is literally what we do have now... A bunch of countries with nuclear weapons of mass destruction, keeping the biggest nations from starting full scale wars on each other. He is only taking it a step further, to prevent what we have. Proxi wars in smaller nations. Like the nation he was born in. But honestly, i don't think that Pain's plan would even work to begin with... Maybe at first. But People will not change just like that. I think it's more likely, that new wars would break out, to destroy or even seize the super weapon. Especially after Pain's death of age or illness. Other people would take over. And those don't necessarily have the same vision of peace as Pain... Like Pain assumed himself. But unlike Pain, i believe it would only create a new eternal cycle of war and peace and not stability. So he would only replace one cycle for another.

Should she go out in all different locations and think of a plan later or wait and get informations and form plan? 100% author just replicated the real world philosophy, but pain would offer nuke capabilities on command like uber eats, nuke eats.And that in theory if we extrapolate today IRAN vs U.S , in this scenario iran could employ pain... , get some nukes going and U.S would back off instantly. So in a way it would create 'less' wars cuz each wars we have today is always 1 bully with nuclear weapons and the bullied has no nukes. Today there is no war between countries with nuclear capabilities. If ukraine had nukes, russia would be chill and have no balls but cuz no nuke... we have war :/ So you see how pain's vision actually would work. Just bring NUKES to everyone so everyone SHIT themselves. When applied to real life you can see north korea. No one mess with them, big countries bully others but not north korea. If Iran builds nukes then no one would touch them (unless they use the nukes in which case iran would disappear from the map literally). TL;DR I think that idea it would work but remains to be seen what would life be like

my issue is that no one seems to specify that tsunade (as shown later) is actually a decent fighter BUT she is WEAKEST when compared to orochimaru and pervy sage. She would've get her butt kicked by Tendo Pain and probably die. So instead she basically used her chakra to keep alive 95% of whole village. I believe that she did the perfect choice. It's not about better leadership skills. Is about doing the choice that would kill least of her citizens. Saving the most, and that's what she did. Chat is wrong and luke has a point, but his point and decisions would've lead to 95% of village dead, instead everyone survived that and the 5% dead are the ones who died in the fights against pain, so 99% of citizens I believe survived. Even he himself said that his decisions are the WORST as an anime character. People must accept that he has broken decisions and they should say he is wrong but not reason why as reasoning is just dumb. The plot provides best decisions already anyway (plus 99% of time, luke complains about something and chat must spoil to explain, and since chat can't spoil they invent dumb reasons. If chat said: "she does this so she saves 95% of everyone, with your choice luke 95% of everyone die. so you wrong" , that is the correct reason but you can't say so chat is just inventing new reasons hence why even reasoning and explaining or finding excuses is dumb. spammed a lot but this happen everytime, people refuse to accept they Iie to themselves and invent reasons just cuz they actually can't say the real reasons never cuz it's a spoiler.

spoiler spoiler ahead we hate sakura because dn dn sdn snsdjnsdnsnd she lied to naruto in about 100 episodes in the war arc aand she says she loves him just so she can kill sasuke and then she almost get herself killed. She starts good but then arguably after 250 eps she keeps doing L after L and she goes back to useless. Sure way less useless than naruto but still. At this point in shippuden i didn't hate sakura but my distaste starts since she did that dirty move on naruto and since then I couldn't have an ounce of respect for her. SO now on rewatch I rewatch through that low respect lense. Many feel like me which is why we say she useless, I wouldn't be surprised if by end of the series , luke would jump on the sakura is useless train meme.

I do remember that and that's fair. I by no means say she's perfect or the best girl in Naruto (especially after that thing) but I do believe overall she doesn't deserve the amount of hate she gets. Sure she does stupid things and makes bad decisions that's to be expected from anyone. And she's not the strongest character (literally and figuratively) but considering she's a regular person and not someone that comes from some great ninja house she's done well. I still find it funny it took the Pervy Sage months to properly train Naruto on the Rasengan, with Naruto needing endless nonstop training periods to get it. Then Naruto is able to casually teach it to Konohamaru, and do it so easily that the dude that's constantly guarding and monitoring Konohamaru didn't even know he was training to learn it, let alone that he had the jutsu. Really goes to show how shit of a teacher Jiraiya was.

A teacher with decades of teaching experience took months to teach a technique, all while requiring the student to work day and night. Then you have a first time teacher, with no experience, teaching a kid in his spare time the same technique, and the kid learns it easily enough that the people closest to him weren't even aware he did any training at all. Either Jiraiya is a bad teacher, Naruto is the greatest teacher that ever lived, or Konohamaru is the ultimate genius and prodigy that can learn A rank techniques with almost no effort at all. I think Jiraiya being a bad teacher is more reasonable than assuming Naruto or Konohamaru are the greatest teacher / student.

I think Luke failed to realize that as the best, top medical ninja who has ever lived, Tsunade using Katsuyu and her own chakara to distribute healing to whoever could possibly use it throughout the village is the BEST thing she could do. Luke doesn't realize that her sitting on that roof, as the last line of defense as Hokage and using her own chakara to stop as many people from dying as an ongoing attack is happening is the #1 priority of a medical ninja.

While Jiraiya had a lot of teaching experience, the jutsu itself was incomplete. Now that's not to say it wasn't an incredibly difficult technique, learning more about it may have given deeper insight into how to teach it. On top of which, the first 2 steps didn't take too long, and he almost immediately managed it once he used a clone to help, so maybe with clone assistance a prodigy could learn it in a week or two. That's just my thoughts of course but it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility that he could teach it a faster way.

Well, for starters Konohamaru is not a slacker and bad in chackra control as Naruto is/was. He is a pretty smart and skilled kid (at least compared with Naruto at the same age). And we don't actually know how long it have been, it may look like 2 or 3 days, but it must have been WEEKS or MONTHS between Naruto teaching the Rasengan and Pain invading the village, long enought time for a more skilled character to learn and master a trick that took too long for Naruto (because, well, Naruto)

I am already affraid chat will vote to skip the following 3 episodes, wich explains A LOT why Iruka is how he is towards Naruto, "because it is filler". And later on the 6-episodes "Power"/"Chikara" arc, wich was originally supposed to be released as a Movie to celebrate the 500 episodes of Naruto (OG+Shippuden), but instead it was splitted in 6-parts as regular episodes. That movie/arc was done by the director Luke seens to like, whenever the animation style changes (like in the fight agains Kakuzu, a few weeks ago. Or the episode of Shikamaru grieving for Asuma. And even now in the fight between Naruto and Tendo)

I always felt like Jiraiya's biggest mistake was only taking half measures with those kids. He did the right thing by raising them and teaching them how to survive, but he should have gone all the way and adopted them as his own, bringing them back to The Leaf. He already dedicated several years of his life to them. Fully adopting them as his children and training them in The Leaf rather than in the wilderness would have been logical.

I'm sure some have pointed it out already, but like my favorite part of that last episode is that Kakashi, having JUST woken up from being freaking DEAD, his first thought was "Where is Naruto?" and he just goes and finds Naruto on the way back. What an absolute chad! He's the best, I swear! And him saying "He's gotten heavy", a wonderful callback to when he picked up Naruto after he fought Sasuke at the end of the OG story, and he says "He's so light." I wonder, knowing that Luke skips most of the filler, if anybody will fill him in on some of the information dropped during some of the mostly filler episodes coming up, before Luke gets into the next canon episode? Well, you are not wrong. And to add to that: While being pretty strong, Tsunade is still a support ninja first and foremost. And she is technically 55 in this part but physically much older because of her Jutsu's nature. People just tend to forget because of her hiding the accelerated aging trough her healing Jutsu. She literally isn't in her prime anymore. Having her on the frontline during this part would not only break the chain of command but also take away her entire focus on protecting and healing the villagers.

There are quite a few Naruto games. In fact, the only PS2 game I ever played (it was a childhood friend's, I never owned a Playstation) ages ago was a Naruto fighting game. Not sure if there are any open world ones. There is also at least one AOT game, the one I played was called Attack on Titan 2, it was semi open world? You could run around limited areas of the city and barracks usually, and then when in battle you can run around the entire battle area. You can't actually enter a building if you're in the city battle area, but it's still pretty cool to be able to go around! It was kinda trippy to be zipping around the place, and needed some getting used to, but it was fun imo! I would recommend it!

I was super ecstatic to finally be able to join the stream! it was so much fun! (I had to be at work sunday @ 7 am so i only got like maybe 2 1/2 hrs of sleep / totally worth it & will gladly do it again!!!) Hi Luke, I waited for the last episode out of the batch for you to see, and to see your reaction. But regarding your comments about the village, I agree, but it is easier than you think, I connected to naruto because something similar happened in the village I gew up in (no, not magic but): There was another person with my name who grew up in the village, he destroyed stuff, he bullied kids, he destroyed property, stole stuff and so on. All the adults now spoke badly of the other kid, but since they had my name, every single kid in my class thought ´they spoke of me, and eventually everything had just mixed together so that the parents was unsure of which person they spoke of, and now we were the same person. And I started acting out since everyone bullied me, adults, kids and only teachers knew the facts. But now I was the bullied angry kid, and all I could do was to ignore them or beat them. Naruto being the exiled kid made him act out and that justified their view of him, in the adults eyes "look! He is bad! just as wae said!" Me and Naruto basically had the same thing happen to us once you remove all the magic etc.

So I enjoyed your reaction to the pain arc overall, but because you were watching it live it felt like you really couldn't give it the attention it deserved. You kept your emotions in check which is kind of a let down, me including many others watch you BECAUSE you are emotional and not a robot lol. Idk it made me a bit sad. I think you didn't fully get Pain and Naruto's forgiveness. So Pain's philosophy isn't purely Vengeance. He falls short to the cycle of hatred but he knows it, that's why he has this philosophy of MAD (Mutual assured Destruction) which actually works and is the system we have in the real world. The Tailed beasts weapons he wanted to create are like Atom bombs so he would give them to the nations and this way Peace is achieved. Nagato doesn't believe that this is the best way of peace, he believes its the ONLY way and he's true. Naruto is of course a fictional character and there are few in our world who would forgive Pain. The brilliance of Pain is that even you as a viewer will hate him to the point where you would continue the cycle of hatred and prove him right. Naruto breaks the cycle by forgiving Nagato and doesn't want to kill him. Nagato is shocked because he realizes that his philosophy is not the only way, he just wasn't as strong as Naruto - he couldn't forgive the world for the Pain he felt AND he knows it. When Naruto said his own words it finally clicked and Nagato realised Naruto was something he couldn't be. This is the brilliance of the Pain arc and Naruto in general. How do you face the cycle of hatred?
