"That Guy" is Lihaku and "Yellow Eyes" aka Basen, is Gaoshun's Son. Gaoshun is Jinshi's attendant and bodyguard, he entrusts his Son, Basen to do the job when he cannot.

Maomao now knows Jinshi is not a eunuch (we already knew this) Jinshi wants to tell Maomao he is the crown prince (she doesn't know this we have speculated) We learn Jinshi's real name is Ka Zuigetsu. The Ma clan is Gaoshun and Basen (they have served the the emperor's family for a long time as we know that Gaoshun has cared for Jinshi since he was a child.)

Maomao has been specifically avoiding this sort of relationship and scenario. "Why don't they just go back to kissing afterwards?!" Because in this case, only one of them wanted to.

We've been in Maomao's head, so we know that she has suspicions that Jingshi is the Emperor's brother. Jingshi has no idea that she knows this. He's trying to tell her to prepare her for trials ahead. She's blocking him out of even telling her he's not a eunuch so that she can pull plausible deniability and avoid getting drawn into any dangerous situations. This highlights an interesting part of Maomao's character: the few things that motivate her. Mysteries intrigue her, and anything having to do with medicine is certain to grab her attention. But she has ZERO desire to follow through and get involved in the motivations and political machinations that surround those mysteries. And she CERTAINLY has no interest in developing a closer relationship with Jingshi. Personally, love me an Ace icon I can root for.
