Deltas mission you missed it last week there was a end credit scene

MrFlakey

the note he gave them was some random shit he was writing. they somehow translated it to a message that very conveniently tells them exactly where the gold is

AchmodinIVSWE

I believe he didn't expect them to decrypt the message so fast.

Blissfull Wulf

No, that was what he wrote, Eta just translated it faster than he expected.

Amberyootoob

Fun fact, 664 is voices by Miyu Tomita who also voices Inda Karane in The 100 Girlfriends who really really really really REALLY love you!

Dethrox

I assume they miss translated it but who knows.. :D the mark up area where the money were may just be an old plan that shows where his sis was back then :D

Fay X84

The Note said exactly what it said! But he didn't expect that Eta could translate it that fast. I will avoid spoilers, but in the latest volume 6? of the light novel they showed that Eta became able to speak fluent Japanese at that point. Anyway, by the time they decrypt (or don't) the note Shadow would have retrieved the money, told the girls that it was for their sake and was to teach them a lesson, took all the credit by saving Mitsugoshi, and become the New Boss (with dignity? lol) Everything the girls are doing is for him, but in his head, the girls took his knowledge and made a name for themselves while he is still struggling with money, and his sole source of income is looting bandits. 😅 Also, the scene with Gettan. He told John Smith to take care of Yukime at the end. But it was like a broken dying message, and our super elite secret agent connected only the parts said out loud where it sounded like "I buried it under the snow👉" in Japanese. 💦 For reference, it is the same as the "God Usopp" part in the One Piece Dressrosa Arc (those who know, know 😉) lol

Daniel Puig

Ok, a few things. You were right, he did write that letter and handed it to Beta to decode just to sound cool but he didn't... doesn't expect they will be able to decode it, or at least so soon. The other thing is that Gettan intended to say "Yukime" as "I'll entrust my treasured Yukime to you" and pointing at her but only managed to say "yuki" which in japanese means "snow". So he said "I left my treasure under the snow" instead while pointing at what Shadow understood near her. So yeah, Yukime just crossed his path to the "treasure" and he healed her by instinct.

Gettan gets tan!

Salieri

my interpretation was, he expected the note to be impossible to translate since there is no Japanese alphabet knowledge in this world, he plan was to get the gold first, pick part of it give shadow garden the rest of it then he would teach them how to decode the note so he could use it as an excuse to rekindle with them after the betrayal, but since he never found the gold now he feels like he has to distance himself cause he doesn't have a way to rekindle

Thiago Serra

He said in the beginning of this arc that his plan was to bankrupt MCA and Mitsugoshi, then stabilish his own bank and put the girls as leaders. In his mind, this way he would own the money, because he doesn't know he already does. He didn't expect them to be able to decypher the note, but he also wasn't being really mean to them since he would still make them manage his business

Down D Stairs

That’s pretty much what happened. The manga explained it more, and it’s been a while since I read this arc. But that was basically what happened.

Some guy

When Shadow does anything that makes no sense, assume it was so he could look cool. In this case, he gave them a message he was sure they wouldn't be able to translate because he thought it would look cool to have some kind of "unbreakable code" (which was just Japanese).

Itto Sanzzo

Yeah yeah, Santa-san, the patron saint of prostitutes

Zer0

He thought, when handing the letter over, that it would take awhile to translate. He underestimated their ability.

Frentzy

The message was a cooking recipe (it was shown at the end of the previous episode). They mistranslated into where the location of the gold is. He is confused because the gold is gone. (this is my interpretation, and I don't care if there is any other explanation XD)

D. L. Pulver

Also covered in more detail in the Kagejitsu anime.

D. L. Pulver

Alas, what Delta gets as her reward and what she found are significant, but come in a later novel. We should find them both at the start of the next season, though....

Karabis2

My interpretation is that he never expected them to be able to decode the message. He said that he used a number of earth languages in it.

ALE GAME

3:03 IT'S THE NINE TAILS!!!

Thanny

He wrote that message in Japanese, which he never taught to the girls. He did not expect that message to be decoded.

KillmanSVK

The message was a cooking recipe it was shown at the end of the previous episode. They mistranslated into where the location of the gold is. He is confused because the gold is gone.

Rem is best waifu

Luke needs to watch Isekai Quartet after finishing this bc season 3 is starting soon and will have Shadow in it. Luke has already seen all the other anime like Konosuba, Re:Zero, Overlord, and Tanya the Evil. I think they are not very long episodes so it would be good to fill in some time and has great references and interactions.

MixRex

Hey Luke, wasn't there vod from Naruto's stream yesterday? Because it's gone now

Philipp Bognar

it was bugged and lagged every 10 seconds, unwatchable rly.Maybe he deleted it and reuploads

MixRex

oh ok, i hope file isn't cracked and he will be able to reupload it

Cid fought Gettan to get his gold coins back but when Gettan said "Be... near... her..." he understood it as "Beneath her" hence why he thought the treasure was there. In Japanese I think he actually said something along the lines of "I leave you my precious, Yukime" but he misunderstood it as "I leave you my precious, beneath the snow" since "yuki" means snow. The letter Cid wrote for Beta to decode was not the cooking recipe we saw. What he wrote down was shown and was actually correctly translated by them (We even heard him read part of the letter). As for what Cid was thinking with the letter, my guess is that he expected them to decipher it, just not that fast. He was probably going to wait for them in front of the gold and explain how they would rebuild Mitsugoshi with him at the top (Remember he wants access to their money, that he already has access to lol).

Nero Integrate

Very good breakdown. Refer to this Luke!

Marcio Neves

The one time I had to miss a stream and the vod gets corrupted 😭

Ok Luke answers to all your questions: 1. Why did shadow write the note - Shadow's goal was to collapse both companies and then take the shadow garden girls under him to start a new company. This is because shadow is an idiot who doesn't realize that shadow garden and the associated front company are already under him. So the purpose of the letter was intended to be an apology so that they would be willing to work under him later and as part of that apology described what he did. However, his intention was not to give the coins to them. They just jumped to the conclusion that was his plan all along. 2. The buried treasure location - In Japanese "yuki" means snow. So when Gettan is pointing at Yukime and saying he is leaving his treasure, Yukime, to John Smith.... due to the broken speech John Smith interprets it to something along the lines that the treasure is beneath the snow (Yuki). 3. Backstory of Yukime, Gettan, & Stylish Bandit Hunter When the theanthropos king died, the tribes started fighting each other. To survive the weaker tribes joined hands. Yukime & Gettan's tribes joined together and they were to be wed. However, in Gettan's pursuit of power to protect Yukime, he was manipulated by the cult and given some of their booster pills. However, those pills caused him to loose his mind. So when he went to Yukime's tribe to push the pills as a means to protect themselves, they rejected him. That rejection of the drugs, that he saw as a means to protect Yukime, caused him to attack everyone. When Yukime arrived at the scene and rejected him as well, he attacked her as well. Then a wild Stylish Bandit Hunter appeared and cut down the guy that looked like a bandit (Gettan) and healed the girl that had her back slashed (Yukime). Gettan who somehow survived joined the Cult to pursue power/strength on the level of that Stylish Bandit Hunter to protect himself from having things he cares about taken from him. Fast forward to present and a certain John Smith beats up Gettan and heals Yukime, in essence a repeat of what happened before.

Some0neElse

I didnt read the LN so i might be wrong here but i think Cid wrote this message cause hes a master edge lord and didnt expect it to be decoded

Daniel Lubo

Sometimes I feel like Shadow have a double personality, mostly its shown when his eyes are turning red, then he's mostly serious.

ClerZz IMO

The OST's are absolutely peak.

The way I made sense of the situation with the money was that Shadow DID intend to tell the girls what was going on, but he did NOT expect that they would go collect all the money after he told them where it was. His thinking was to use that money to rebuild Mitsugoshi with himself at its head this time, "making it up" to them when its all over by essentially being able to bail them all out while also inserting himself at the head of Mitsugoshi (he explicitly stated this was his plan at one point). I genuinely don't think he even considered that the girls would "take" the gold from him, its "his" now after all. The girls, on the other hand, ALREADY see him as the head of Mitsugoshi, so when he told them where he'd collected the money, they just went and picked it up for him because as far as they were concerned, they were picking up his money and putting it back in his (Mitsugoshi) vault, just like he'd 'obviously' intended. So basically: He told the girls because he didn't think they'd go get it, and they went and got it because they assumed he told them so they could fetch it for him. Since he never explains himself or asks for anything, he's the only one who thinks things went off anything other than perfectly.
