The stand Metallica has finally shown itself ! Named after, well, Metallica, a band from 1981 and up. Outside of the stand though, this episode does so much to explain the boss, and the insane paranoia and refusal to be seen that he takes to such an insane level, he even hides from his other half Doppio, leaving them fully unaware of how linked they actually are, it is horrifying in many ways, but Doppio is still super fucking evil regardless, and overall competent and clever enough to use the parts of King Crimson he has access to.

As for is this the first time Doppio uses it ? Probably not, but the boss talks to Doppio like they are a child, it is not a one way street mind wise though, Doppio clearly has a lot of mental control when he is in the zone and the boss cannot just jump out without a bit of time as the episode makes clear, nor is the boss able to see what Doppio sees via King Crimson when he uses it either.

Metallica is actually pretty short range for a non-punchy stand (C, the same as Star Platinum), which is why Risotto has to camouflage himself to get close to the target. While he can use it at further range than that to do minor things, he needs to be relatively close for the stand's power to be strong enough to create objects.

I actually have split personality myself:) for me when someone elses personality goes forward, its like we’re all in a car, and i get pushed to the passenger seat while i watch some else drive. I might be able to talk to them to try to convince them what to do, but as their own person i can only watch them do their own things. It also makes some parts of life awkward, and we have a personality that sabotages relationships. His name is mike, he is evil. Anyway doppio and the boss was awesome representation that makes me feel seen, and we imagine mike as the boss lol since he sucks. Split personality is a brains defense mechanism for large amounts of trauma btw

This is just me spitballing, but it appears that the multiple personality thing is more of a spectrum rather than a binary system. Like what people called "manic-depressive disorder" back in the day, as our understanding of it evolved, we realized that the range of symptoms and behavioral signs are more of a spectrum. We went from "either Bipolar I or Bipolar II" to "as wide a variety of severity in symptoms and ability to function as autism". So, at least how I interpret it, Doppio and the Boss are indeed two separate personalities. But there is a gray area where certain aspects of their personalities (and even their physical traits) are blended together in different ways. It's a gradient, not a switch. Which makes it far more fascinating, IMO.

yeah i saw video about DID (dissociative identity disorder). It is a coping mechanism, brain has to choose either to "change form" or suicide from stress. And any person who suicided if they didn't , they would've developed split personality. But some have more than just "1", can be 3 or 4 or 5 or even more. I see it as someone owning a PC and making multiple "windows" users where each can check files since it's same hard disk but the admin at the time is the current logged in user. Technically, it's a bit weird that once brain formed a 2nd person in your head to avoid death, brain cannot modify again to "kill" that 2nd personality and keep only the original once trauma has ended. "DID" is both a blessing and a curse, blessing cuz you never gonna be alone and curse because it's best to have 100% control of your body.

different clothing, different beard. for him could be 1 day or 1 week. he did this before and people got mad he forgot but for us was 1 day and him 1 week. I accepted that if you react to 50 videos a week + 6-8 anime (+shows and movies), it's impossible to remember every detail). He watch more content than a highschooler with unlimited time would.

luke HAS to be trolling at this point. like i know he's not the sharpest tool in the shed but he's asking why the person with mental issues this bad can't switch between the two personalities. luke when you see someone with ocd do random mundane things you don't tell them to stop because it's useless lol. the boss personality has to meet some conditions or wait some time to switch. also when you cry or get angry those aren't different personalities. each personality has its own emotions its literally like a 2 in 1 deal

I just want to say - the only reason Risotto got as close to victory as he did is because the Boss is extremely paranoid about keeping his identity secret. He could’ve easily avoided every moment where Risotto made objects inside him, but Risotto’s invisibility meant there was always a chance he could escape with knowledge of King Crimson’s ability and the Boss’s real face - a risk the Boss couldn’t take. It’s similar to DIO vs. Jotaro: DIO had countless chances to finish Jotaro off, but his huge ego and paranoia about the Joestars made him waste every one of them.

You can’t root with anyone else than Metalica! TBH, it’s Risotto’s fault too cause he got emotional when he discovered Doppio’s alternative personality is the boss, something he even mentioned in the previous episode… It was so unfair for Metalica GG to our boys, now they deserve to die😅
