I’ve been thinking about the significance of 6 inch song (the one that ends with her saying come back). It starts with Emptiness and I think there’s an emphasis in that song about working. Filling your time with work and to mask the pain so that you don’t have time to think about it or to sit in it. I think that’s why at the end of the song, you hear that desperate come back because no matter how much she tries to fill her day eventually she needs to sit in the pain.

This movie has eveeerything! This album made me a true listener of music and albums! I felt so seen I was literally obsessed with this film. There is a podcast dissect that dissected this entire album from the lyrics to the poems and the visuals it was such a beautiful essay! 40:00 it’s not her name but it is a specific description.. “Becky” is generally known to be a Caucasian woman’s name and “good hair” in the black community specifically means unkinky hair or more so straight not curly because back in the day white people referred to black peoples hair as “Bad Hair” because it wasnt as easy to manage as theirs … so in order for black people to have “good hair” they needed to make their hair as straight as possible … sooo all that to say she basically said “go call that white lady”

The best live performances from this era after the VMA's are her Grammy performance of Love Drought and Sandcastles, her TidalX performance where she performs 6 inch and All night and last but never least her performance of Daddy Lessons with the Dixi Chicks at the Country Music Awards. The Daddy Lessons perfomance is the reason why we have her latest trilogy album run that includes a Beyoncé country album. Not everyone was happy with her perfomance at the CMA's. They are must watches since The Formation World Tour is laying in a vault somewhere. After these, HOMECOMING on Netflix! Very much looking forward to it.

6:00 she talked about her first boyfriend in high school (a lot of infidelity songs before jay à was inspired by him) before or after the success of destiny’s child (not sure) that cheated on her because she wasn’t ready to have sex with him yet. He even brag over it years after because it could have been « Mr Beyoncé » if he would have play smart. Ass**le. Unfortunately she talked about her dad too. The main reason she let him go (and she never talked about if publicly ) that is her father go in trial for pay for child support by a supposed mistress, all his family included wife and kids supported him until the DNA test prove he was the dad. Her daily fall apart, her mom divorce, she let him go as manager and O guess the betray to know that was she was working hard on her career, he used this to have (if I remember well multiplie) affair(s) was probably heart breaking. You barely see them in public or private since. The only time you see him, it’s with his grand kids, I guess she still want him to be a grandpa even she took a distance from him being a dad.😢

Luke! White America lost their everlasting shit when Formation was released. The video released the day before the Super Bowl performance you saw with Coldplay. Because of the Black Panther imagery and the music video with the boy dancing in front of the police with the message on the wall “stop shooting us“ the media accused her of being ANTI POLICE and the police were literally saying they were Boycotting Beyonce and not protecting her at her shows!! It was insane. Also the women in the forward video were the mothers of black men who were unjustly murdered by police. You may (or may not) have heard of Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown.

There isn’t a full video of the Formation World Tour that accompanied this album, and she didn’t do a festival during this era (Homecoming/Beychella is more of a come back 2 years later). However, Beyoncé had a goal to perform every song from the album live. She did so in this order (You’ve reacted to the first few already): Super Bowl 50 Halftime — Formation (her intro the era, the day after releasing the single) 2016 BET Awards — Freedom (your introduction to her and beginning to this wonderful journey) 2016 Video Music Awards — PYCM, Hold Up, Sorry, DHY, Formation (Arguably her best award show performance) 2016 Tidal X — 6 Inch/Haunted and All Night (a MUST see) 2016 Country Music Association Awards — Daddy Lessons (her experience and the backlash to this performance birthed what we know now as Cowboy Carter, so excited for that reaction) 2017 Grammy Awards — Love Drought and Sandcastles (final performance of the era and her first public appearance after announcing her pregnancy with twins) I highly suggest reacting to the latter 3 before completing this era. The live shows put a bow on the magnificence of the album. As many have said, even if you don’t post a reaction, go back and listen to the album in full when you get the chance because it’s truly a work of art. They are all pushing for "Homecoming", but that was filmed after she'd already given birth to her twins. Her 2017 Grammy performance was filmed while she was pregnant. If i may offer an opinion, I'd follow the timeline in chronological order and react to Grammys before Homecoming. OK, so this part between Apple emptiness and loss I learned something new every time my newest revelation is that the hallway with the red square at the end sounds like an ultrasound and a heartbeat and she’s talking about blood in and out of uterus so maybe she’s making reference to the loss of children are born the loss of the connection. She thought she had lost of the relationship as it was and loss of the person, she thought she wanted to be. At the end of it the comeback always irritated me because I thought that she was just begging for her husband to come back, but at the same time now that I’m hearing it it sort of sounds like she’s begging herself to come back to her senses and realize who she is and not bury herself in work because that’s not what she wants. I think 6 inch represents Bey’s workaholic nature.
