Kosaki

I noticed something different from manga, like we supposed to see stuff here and there… but let's see how this will go. Love it so far Part 7 is a new entirely universe, but it still connected to old universe through characters. They are the “counter part” of the old world Johnny Joestar = Jonathan Joestar Gyro Zeppeli = Baron Will A. Zeppeli Diego Brando = Dio Brando Pocoloco = Poco (the villager kid from Part 1) Etc.

a sad lobster

Can we release the other 3 reactions to the finale of part 6 on patreon early pleassssee

Hiruman

Finally. Part 7. It's been months since I'm watching Jojo reaction. Does he like part 6?

LemonSaucyPants

its been posted on youtube for like 2 hours 😔😢

egkuaz

Jacowab

Wait if Luke is reacting to part 7 then that means we are guaranteed to get part 8 soon

ZabluLobsta

50/50 he enjoyed it but not as much as other parts, we don't know yet his reaction to Made in heaven and the end of it, I hope he likes it tho

Yaros

Fucking cowboys?😳😳😳 HELLYEAH

Paul Vizcarra

YES! I learned about the Cannon Ball Run a little after reading part 7 and it was so cool to see the real life influence

egkuaz

This part is completely different from the others. There are some references and a few of the same universe rules, but it’s a whole different universe, and it has no connection to the end of Part 6. As the chapters go on, it just keeps getting more and more peak—this race becomes increasingly exciting, and honestly, this is the best piece of fiction I’ve ever seen, no exaggeration. I hope you’ll like this part too. Also, when Araki, the manga’s author, was releasing this series, he switched to a monthly schedule, and because of that, both the story and the artwork level up significantly. The release dates for the other episodes aren’t clear, but I’m sure you’ll absolutely love them when they come out. Seeing that you’ve finally reached Part 7 and that this anime is being released makes me genuinely really happy! I cant wait!!!!!! Edit: The winning prize is for for like 2000's money, not for 1890 bec it would be so low, mangaka did like that.

Jacowab

Part 7 is a different continuity from parts 1-6, not a different universe or timeline a complete separate continuity, nothing from 1-6 is canon here.

Barack O. Llama

Can’t wait to watch the episode and this reaction later. Genuinely the greatest day ever

Lia

I'm so happy my favorite part is finally animated! The animation and soundtrack are going CRAZY in this first episode already!

AchmodinIVSWE

I love how they reused the character themes for Diego and Avdol

Zanath Kariashi

The times for each stage are totalled up at the end to decide the winner. Since there's a break period after each stage. However winning a stage also gives it's own reward, so there's still incentive to try and win at least some of them even if you aren't sure you can win the whole thing. Also money I think is probably supposed to be yen values rather than dollars. 50 million yen would converted to dollars would be around 315,000 dollars and adjusted for time-period be around 11,000,000 dollars today. (still a ridiculous sum, but MUCH more in the region of actually do-able given the wealth of the Sponsors of the event). Likewise the entrance fee would've been roughly 1 dollar (or the equivalent of about ~35 dollars today). Which also sounds a lot more reasonable for the amount Pocoloco's pay was increased to. The prize for winning the first stage would be about ~65 dollars, or approximately ~2,400 in today's money.

LemonSaucyPants

im pretty sure the 50million is already adjusted for inflation for whenever the manga was released

TheKnightwatchOfficial

Steel Ball Run. Cannon Ball Run. I was wondering if he was going to catch the reference, and he did. Yay! "Cannonball! Cannonbaaaaaalll!" Yes, it is a song, so yes is it a JoJo's reference.

Rem is best waifu

Yeah I stayed up till 2 am to watch this and now I am back to watch your reaction just 5 hours later. I loved the 1st episode. I hope you catch some old VA they are using again. I am just starting, enjoy Luke. Edit okay Luke seemed to enjoy it but didn't catch avdol va as Steven Steel or the Dio VA was Kraftworks from Part 5. But Luke I promise by the end you will love this anime the most.

Barbietube

Dude I hope this quality in everything isn't just in the first episode and it's just straight ass later on like Uzumaki. Some hyped animes tend to do ts

SamJaz

Ghost Riders in the Sky is a Johnny Cash Song.

Dor Daniel Sade

Its episode 1 and our boy already understands why this part is going to be his favorite (like most of us)

Karma

Johhny spent that whole time clinging to the stubborn horse to break it and because he wouldn't let go the horse he made it chill. That's the reason for the change in the horses demeanor .

Karma

You were kind of right. The race stops here briefly because the whole thing has a number of checkpoints which allow to win bonus time. The reason the first checkpoint came so early is because this is an introductory part of the race and there are a few other circumstances that make it make sense.

Lord Nawias

Spoiler free regarding the connection to previous parts: Part 7 is totally unreleated to other parts other than inheriting certain themes, mostly from parts 1-3. It's generally one of the most misunderstood moments in jojo community. Some people think this part is a result of the ending of Part 6 but that was never the case. It's a totally different verse which just takes certain themes from Arakis previous parts

Urhara Kisuke

Luke to simplify Part 7 and onwards to (ongoing part 9) takes place in alternative universe after Pucci reset universe with made in heaven so its part 1/2 characters doesn’t co-exist here if that makes sense

Magic Fibre

Just to avoid confusion - there is ZERO connection between Parts 6 and 7 (meme not intended). A very common misconception is that Part 7 takes place in the universe created at the end of Part 6, which is NOT THE CASE. The Part 6 universe (often called the Ireneverse) is almost identical to the original JoJo universe. Everything is essentially restored. The main exceptions are that Pucci never existed and the souls of those he killed now inhabit new reincarnated bodies and live peaceful lives. Events from Parts 1 to 5 still happened as shown in the anime, though it is unclear whether Jotaro is still Jotaro. We do know that he DID fight DIO. Part 7 takes place in a completely separate universe. There are many references, but they are only there as nods to past parts.

Magic Fibre

Now that I think about it, this begs a question - did Weather get together with his sister??

Frentzy

RANK1 myanimelist baby. LET'S GO WE'RE SO BACK.

Kindyh Bordat

I read the manga a long time ago. I can confidently say, it's the BEST jojo part by light-years. Every characters are amazing, there is no real good or bad guys, even Johnny is a piece of shit (Historically accurate) and the story is actually really deep, religion, politics, philosophy. Granted they where all present in previous parts, but in SBR it's less subtile. (PS : Many things you say make you sound like a manga reader even tho you missed obvious stuff like them starting in the West.... Land of cowboys.... Like did you really think there was cowboys in NY XD ?)

haru

Not gonna watch this until part 6 is finished (been watching it for the first time alongside you) but have a comment for support!

Bennie

it's so cool seeing you piece together how part 7 is set in the universe after part 6, however it's not 100% correct. You're absolutely right in that it would make TOTAL sense for that to be the move, it's a really good theory. But when the part 7 manga was released, originally it was actually advertised as something completely different than jojo altogether, like an ENTIRELY new series. After around like 10-15 chapters, the series did eventually turn into part 7. But because of this start, part 7 was never ever considered to have connections to ANY part before stone ocean. That also means, all the return characters or name/personality references to previous parts are sadly ONLY references, and does not influence the continuation or lore of the previous 6 seasons. I hope this makes sense to you Luke. Your reaction was AMAZING. Seeing you piece stuff together and come up with theories is the exact reason I watch your content. You're amazing <3 Much love!

Bennie

it is confirmed that an episode will not come out next week. Whether or not 1 episode comes out in two weeks or a batch of episodes comes out in two weeks, nobody knows.

ObtainedLion413

You might want to use different captions for the other episodes. These ones took out a lot of cool lines and context

Karma

Agreed, just use netflix

Karma

Not if he knew

DrA

Hamon in the japanese means ripple like energy waves, and gyro is like rotation which when a wave is viewed from the side is viewed straight on it is like a spiraling energy instead. It's the same idea from a different perspective.

DrA

Pocoloco the GOAT!!

Lucas Prestes

We didn’t get much gun slinging but my God we got some ball slinging! I will go ahead and tell you the prize is 50 millions in current US Dollars, bc Araki wanted to make it simple for readers

Subaquatic Toaster

So the biggest thing to understand the start of part 7 as far as I understand it, is that at the end of part 6, the universe was reset. We are in an entirely new timeline where all past events didn't happen (I think). The author felt backed into a corner with writing his universe and its power scaling and decided to do a clean slate after part 6.

Legacy

Those were White men Chasing the native.. Probably to enslave or kill just like in history

AchmodinIVSWE

Those were definitely not white men.

AchmodinIVSWE

This is Netflix he is watching on.

Kyle Garrett

They explained it in the episode, but there's multiple legs to the race. If you win a leg of the race you get a cash prize, and you get a time bonus applied to your final score at the end of the race. For leg 1 they said it's a one hour time bonus, so if you finish the final leg at 2pm, they'll count it as you finishing at 1pm. So there's an incentive to win as many legs as you can, both in terms of the money you get, but also if you get enough of a time bonus, your lead will potentially become impossible to overcome.

ObtainedLion413

I forgot where does he live? Because these subtitles definitely weren't from US Netflix.

Rem is best waifu

No those were his own tribe members chasing him for reading white men's books like the Bible and stuff. "Sandman" wants to learn about the white man as much as possible to earn money but they skipped his backstory bc it would be awkward to put it in a first episode. We may see it later or not.

Kyle Garrett

One thing to also keep in mind Luke is the US is huge. This is a 6000km race (about 4000miles) and in our world at least that's taking months, or even close to a full year, to finish. Obviously this is Jojo's, so there's going to be some supernatural shenanigans going on, but even with the wacky stuff happening there's just no chance any horse is going to be able to run non-stop at race speeds for even a week, let alone a year. So the legs thing makes perfect sense.

Lucas Prestes

I do not think Araki would use yen for a clearly US themed part, I did read though that it is already adjusted for inflation

Iron_claw

When does MHA start

Magic Fibre

In the universe Pucci intended to create (often called Pucciverse) everyone knows their fate. If Part 7 was taking place in Pucciverse, everyone would already know who wins the Steel Ball Run race

Barack O. Llama

yeah the director said he wanted to reorder some scenes to fix the weird early pacing of the manga

Barack O. Llama

also how did i not realise that pocoloco was poco from part 1 lol

Elijah Wheaton

I live in the states and it’s the exact same subtitles I have on Netflix. Weird

Touhou RS

I don't know why anyone would tell you you need to watch part 6 to understand 7. The ending of part 6 has nothing to do with part 7.

Touhou RS

Yeah although this is a completely new slate, it's unrelated to the multiple universes that part 6 created.

patros36

At least try to be correct when you're racist

thewizardninja

The end of Part 6 and the start of Part 7 are entirely unrelated. This is not taking place in the universe as it exists at the end of Part 6, it is its own entirely separate universe.

thewizardninja

It was wild at the time. The utterance of the name "Gyro ZEPPELI" was a massive reveal that, actually, this WAS Jojo.

thewizardninja

Yes, he didn't want to have to do conversions every time he had to talk about money so he just stated outright that it's all pre-adjusted.

Hiruman

Enjoy while you can. Soon frieren army will be on the move. They have an obligationb to keep frieren at the top lol

Gabriel Macedo

They didn't explain in the anime. But basically, you get points by reaching a checkpoint aka completing a stage. Let's say the first place gets 100, second place 90, third place 80 and so on. You also get get a time bonus. Let's say you got a 10min bonus. If you got 10° place at the end checkpoint, late by 8 minutes. That 10 min bonus would make it that you actually won 1° place. So in the end. They calculate the points from everyone, + the time bonuses and decides who won. Also. Part 7 is a different story completely There are lots of references. And of course Araki maintain lots of rhe same topics, but it's not at all connected. It's a alternate universe just like you said.

Kingwolf Lotts1

Did you watch on Netflix?. I think there is some different subs I watch some of reaction CC, one of them has different subs. And kinda censored the meaning what the RUNNING Guy said. Indeed he said white men but the other subs isn't. Also gyro indeed said Beyond Human. It's good you pick this subs. I think it's way more accurate.

Moshi

Diego Brando is voiced by Kaito Ishikawa, also known for Azusagawa Sakuta, Tenya Iida, Kageyama Tobio, Naofumi Iwatani, Genos and Jiji from Dandadan. Gyro is Youhei Azakami's first big role, but he's also voiced Ron Kamonohashi. Johnny is Shougo Sakata, who broke out in 2022 as Hayakawa Aki. Lucy Steel is voiced by everyone's favorite explosion wizard, Takahashi Rie.

LuciusArtoriusCastus

well the previous 6 parts were chronologically consistent, it would be nice to know why all of a sudden we're in the past with characters completely unrelated to previous parts. Watching all of part 6 may be unecessary but watching the ending is a good idea.

egkuaz

time to rewatch
