Luke one day, you gonna react to Hughes Jackman performing a Broadway musical medley performance on stage with Beyoncé at the Oscar 2009, singing and dancing on stage with with Zac efron and Vanessa Hudgens, and Amanda seyfried. I can't wait for that

Ann

Have your watched it with your wife yet? If so, how was her reaction? This is my favorite musical!

I get Hugh so much. You know you shouldn't, but sometimes you just have to sing! I had many a choir practice when I was so sick that I was close to loose my voice and I just went to sit at the sidelines to take notes and receive instructions and internalize the harmonies (never anything contagious, I have weird throat and lung issues), but sometimes you just have to sing. You might end up blowing your stitches or loosing your voice for 2 days, but sometimes you just have to sing!

So glad you reacted to these two clips, they are incredible. There was no ego in that room, it was a group of people inspired by music and storytelling, and they let it carry them. Hugh Jackman absolutely nailed it with this film. Edit: I accidentally hit enter before I was done typing. Anyway. A couple of people in that room that deserve mention: - The guy who was initially singing Hugh's lines is none other than Jeremy Jordan. You'd recognise him as the voice of Lucifer Morningstar in Hazbin Hotel. He also has a role in the Tangled Tv series as a character called Varian. Whether or not you decide to continue Tangled into the Tv show, I recommend a couple of songs from that series (I'll add them below) - There is a woman in a red scarf and curly hair in the choir. That is Loren Allred. She was one of the reference vocalists so the actors could hear how the song was to be performed. I believe it was Rebecca Ferguson who heard Loren's version and told the director to keep it as it is. That is the version you heard in the film. She later appeared on a Got Talent show and performed her song live. As for the Tangled Tv songs, if you're not planning on continuing into the series, I would recommend at least these songs, and I encourage others to add to my limited list (I have not watched the show myself but plan to): - Ready As I'll Ever Be - Crossing The Line - Nothing Left To Lose

I know she was pointed out in the "This is me" video, but it warrants a second hjighlight in this one especially. Once everyone goes off you can see one of the singers in the not-choir-section doing crazy riffs and high notes: that is Cynthia Erivo - freaking Elphaba from the movies!

Legiblestew

Id also recommended the above songs from tangled! And add Waiting in the Wings and Let me Make You Proud. They're really great solo songs. And also if you haven't heard about Jeremy Jordan's side of the Greatest Showman story. https://youtu.be/08AGzOmCk-s?si=siGmSwmz6oXWXim2

The guy singing on the right is Jeremy Jordan. You’ve got to see his video called “The Day I Saved the Greatest Showman” on YouTube. It’s about this very interaction

Roy Ashton

I wasn't sure of Luke's policy on links, but yes! Jeremy Jordan's story is great!

Bekah Lynes Paradise

Aaaahhhhhh I've been checking every day to see when you would react to this one! Did not disappoint!!

Next movie dream girls??

Kenneth Hoerz

It's just a song that is so emotional that you can't not sing with.

Diamond Rose

I would have paid a million dollars to have been in that room! This is the one that gets me out of my seat clapping and singing along just as loud as they are in the video, one of the best musical songs ever. I cannot WAIT to see this on Broadway!

DonnaJ

At this point Kaela didn’t have the part in the show…her performances that day won her the part.! Glad she got the call to do this green light! I knew you’d love this!

Emma Floyd

This rehearsal in particular always causes goose bumps for me, as someone who grew up in theater and was treated like an outcast. The sense of belonging in this room is so strong even through a screen!

Mycah Daniel

Thanks for reacting to this! I’ve been excited to see what you thought of it. This video is kind of funny for me because it gives me mixed feelings. The energy in the room is astounding and this performance is absolutely amazing. It’s very clear how and why they chose to greenlight the movie based on this performance. However, I know this had to be one of the absolute most crushing moments of Jeremy Jordan‘s life. Seeing this clip knowing that also just devastates me and makes me feel so terrible for him. He’s so incredibly talented and worked his butt off. He deserved more of a chance. Anyways thanks again for the reaction, and if you haven’t already seen the request and links to Jeremy Jordan‘s side of things from others definitely check it out. 100% worth the time.
