If you are in the hospital I'll bring you a giant sandwich with ALL the meats. You'll love it.

Kousei's father travels a lot because of his work, that's the reason we don't see him in the anime.

Slipstream

I know this orange fella who keeps on getting tests. But everything is fine. We're fine. Nothing to worry about... Maybe Kao-chan is getting some kind of treatment so she can grow up to do all thosae things she dreams of doing. Hospitals are a place of healing. No need to overthink things.

I agree for the most part that you should confess your feelings but it's not always so simple. People sometimes have their "best friends" as their crushes. Hell, there are couples that consider themselves also as best friends. And sometimes people value more that relationship than being their lover. I sure did, so I never confessed to that person, and it was fine. Eventually I got past those feelings without losing the relationship. I even have a case where I actually decided to confess this time. But eventually we broke up and the relationship got akward after. So I kinda regret it. I know people come and go, and confessing your feelings doesnt necessarily mean that friendship will break. So I still agree with your point, you should shoot your shot, specially if it's eating you away, my case is different, I was able to move from my feelings even if I didnt confess. But yeah, I just wanted to say that it's not always black and white and depends on the person.

Airtiger

As a fellow male representative, everything that Luke mentioned about males not knowing anything about love is 100% correct

Airtiger

"Music is taking Kousei away from me" that line hits like a train

Airtiger

Poor Tsubaki. She deserves to be happy too. I really hope that she is happy by the end of this anime. It is one of those things where the crush ended up choosing their career over continuing on being close (not that I blame Kousei), but it hurts to see her so hurt

Toasterfinal5

As a long time follower to your channel. I waited ever so patiently for you to get to this anime. So glad you did.

25:49 i second that we truly are

Phoenix_mercury

Tbf not *all* guys are completely clueless(in that aspect), part of a polyquad and 2 of my partners asked me whilst I asked the other one, two of the three are also together and all three are amazing with our kiddo 😁

Chris

Fake meat hopefully x)

Canelas

100% Agree with your take on crushes Luke I once had a good friend group coming apart partly (but not only) because of it, some of the best times I had were with them. I don't regret it a single bit

Earl Preston

angel beats was another one. that just rips at you but has a different kind of feeling. this one ive only remembered the sadness. this is helping rewatch it and seeing the artistry they wove in the show instead of just - oh its the sad one.

Rem is best waifu

I also went the career path, I kept close to my best friend who did tech school in Houston while I was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. Other friends I barely spoke to through the years after and I talk to more friends I met in the military and later than in school. Life is about change imo and it is good to make new relationships.

Rem is best waifu

I liked Luke's reaction to Angel Beats and now YLIA. Now I just need Clannad, Anohona and Plastic Memories

True I just turned 40, I have a son that is almost 17 and I look back to when I was his age and think how much I didn't have a clue who liked me unless you or a friend came up and told me bc I was always focused more on football, track or just hanging out with friends.

LKCynric

"This scene is so good!" He says, right as the next scene is about to punch him in the guts. She wouldn't be able to tell him as she herself denied it so hard she herself didn't see it until this moment. This is one of my favorite moments of the series as I always really liked Tsubaki. She's an amazing character. Also in case you wanna hear it again the music is called "for you". highly recomend it on youtube (though you have to search for "lie in april for you").

LKCynric

As a side note, while I understand what you mean and don't disagree, some cases are harder. If you fall in love with someone you have been friends with for years its a bit more complicated because you don't wanna lose that friendship. Even if you will probably end up losing it anyway for not saying it. But in oher cases 100% agree.

Sorry I might overshare a bit, but yh, I don't find this situation so easy at all For someone with little opinion about oneself, a bad situation in life, and a physique not considered attractive... And has dealt with years of bullying, having a crush is hard. Unfortunately, I had to face the harsh reality that... The worst is not to just move on. Years passed, sure, my mind got better, finances as well, I kind of have a stable situation now. But it doesn't mean all that vanished. I have, well, had a coworker for a good while until last year. One I even considered a friend and it seemed that she did as well. Maybe not a close one, but she said multiple times she trusted me a good deal. We contacted each other from time to time outside work. With time, I surprised myself thinking I... Liked her. (And oh boy, more than i would realise). The thing is... She was a coworker. Didn't want to makes things awkward at work. She was in a relationship for a time as well, even if it was going that well. So yeah, not messing with a couple. She shared her life multiple times with bad past experiences where people just wanted her for her body and other that made things just difficult to say anything on my feelings for her. She was fun, attractive, loved her kindness, her laugh... But more than that, I loved being able to enjoy those moments with her. Confessing was not an option: what did I have to offer that would balance the risks of just ruining things as they were ? So yeah. I didn't say anything. Life happened and if I wanted to get to a better place on pretty much all manners, I had to go work and live pretty far away. I missed her terribly, wanted to confess multiples times... But we barely kept in touch. How could I not pass from one of the other mans just lusting after her ? She revealed something horrible from a common friend/coworker we both trusted very much as well, and turned to be a pos. It broke me, hard, and the story in question just made it even harder to confess. Again, a man she chose to trust just... Abused her. I tried to tell her I was here for there if she wanted, but it seems that... I was the only one trying to reach out whenever we happened to talk. Even if she told me multiples times she was glad to talk to me or see me, she never wanted to do more than that Friends told me to confess, others told me she doesn't want anything to do with me, some said she was... inconsistent. But above all, how could she trust another "friend" after all she endured ? I must admit, I probably still love her, even if it doesn't eat at me nearly as much as before, but now it's been close to a year we didn't talk or even sent a message to each other. I know she left the last workplace, she got even farther than my place (which was already pretty far so meeting was already difficult)... All that to say that, yeah, I guess a part of me regret not trying to do anything before it was too late. But... HOW was i supposed to do it and convey how much I loved her in this situation ? How wouldn't that be difficult with the distance increasing ? To make myself an option, to not seem desperate for a "chance" opening up when her relation ended, for when she told me people tend to abuse her when she's not feeling well ? When we were working, it was at really close positions, like, sitting at the same desk sometimes for 12h+, if she rejected me, how would we be able to get past that ? I think I prefered getting myself crushed under those feelings than risking it and having it backfire. I didn't want to break her trust. I didn't want to lose those moments. I didn't want to mute her laugh. I would have been way happier staying by her side if she needed me and having her make a move IF she was interested. I just... Wanted that she could have a bit of peace of mind around me. It would probably be arrogant of me to say "for once in her life", but that's what I felt. I... I really loved her. But I don't think i could have ever conveyed it properly without being missunderstood in any case. Anyway. Sorry, I don't know why I need to post that here and it's way too long... But I guess this awoke something and I needed to vent/talk about this. And in case you ever read me Luke: I understand what you meant. And even tho it's good advice in general, it's not that easy, even less for some people. Personnality, environment, well... circonstances are always a factor. Or am I lying to myself ? Welp, Ty for the reaction anyway, Avatar, MHA, YLiA, MCiLaL, Re:Zero, I spend a good part of my weeks watching you these days, and I'm loving every second of it. See you around everyone !

Hey, Ive been wattching your JJK reactions and I recently finished the Sukuna Vs Mahoraga episode and you commentted on the animation being bad and since theyve remade that episode in the blu-ray version, I was wondering if you have watched the remade one or if youre ever planning to. Just commenting on the most recent post because Im very curious

Feel bad for Tsubaki - never had feelings for Kousei until Kaori came into the picture, and by the time she discovered her feelings Kaori had already helped Kousei rekindle his love for piano, and all of his attention was directed at her because of it. Very similar to what happened in Toradora with Taiga, Ryuuji, and Minori. It's why childhood friends are so often losing heroines.

Phoenix_mercury

Yup, one of the ones that asked me and the one I asked are also together(kitchen table poly), the one I asked is the one that asked the one that asked me in that pair, our little one loves all of them too

Amberyootoob

Read this story and just wanted to leave an opinion here for other people who reads it. The moment you start realizing you have feelings for someone you consider a special friend, I feel that you essentially have 3 options. You either confess and tell them you're starting to catch feelings for them (ask for a break since you don't want to ruin your current friendship), distance yourself for a while to get rid of those feelings, or bottle it up and hope it goes away (spoiler: it won't). The moment you choose to bottle your feelings up, you'll only build it more and more until you can no longer hide it and accidentally blow it up and completely ruin your relationship with that person. "It's not as easy since environment and self-confidence is lacking" should not be an excuse to not choose from the two options if you truly want to treasure that person (whether as a friend or a S/O). Been in all 3 of those scenarios myself and had severe low self-confidence due to factors such as having a physical disability that makes me walk weird (Severe Dextroscoliosis), and not doing skin care, mental instability, etc. And yes, the moment you confess, better expect everyone in their friend group/your friend group will know and will likely tease you about it - even if you specifically tell them to keep it among yourselves. Simply be prepared and move on. As the saying goes, time heals all wounds, the scar from the rejection will always be there, but it will eventually fade. Sleepless nights will definitely come, but you can also start moving forward step-by-step. Getting out of your comfort zone to confess is the most difficult part, but I think it's also quite literally the best way to move forward. Having bottled it up twice (for months and even years at that), I think it is the absolute worst decision and always ends up in catastrophe once you let it slip and you absolutely will slip with time.

Japania

I know how you feel. I was rejected and bullied in elementary and highschool big time. I had no friends and i had a physique that was not concidered the beauty standard. Was also bullied because of it. So to go to a complete stranger and flirt with them is really hard for me. I have a good self esteem now and i consider myself beautiful, eventhough i'm still not the beauty standard. I can go on a date and tell a guy i like him, but when it comes to complete stranger. Like, i see a guy i like walking down the street, and can even barely look him in the eyes. And i know it's because of all those years of bullying and rejection. I believe we are master of our destiny and that we can change for the better. I know at some point in my life i will be able to go talk to a complete stranger and ask his phone number or something, but i understand that healing from rejection is a long process. I've come a long way and i'm proud of myself, but i still have work to do to be comfortable doing that without being afraid.

Thx for sharing Kewkiks ! And I get what you mean It's not really an excuse it's just... What happens. I tried, I just, wasn't able to go through with it. But yeah, bottling the feelings up is not good, I have a friend in this exact condition as well. From both our point of view, which he didn't share AT ALL with me a year ago, now he apologised for thinking it was this easy when it's obviously not. It's not just considering we're gonna be teased or the hurtfull rejection. It's what comes next as well. Anyway :D Thx again for reading and sharing !

Hitsters

Hey Japania ! Oh, that hit a bit close to home as well, really glad to hear that you're better with yourself and have confidence you will reach your goal one day :D You rock ! On my end I'm also really proud of my improvements over the last few years, but I'm not at the level of being able to flirt yet. I am starting to feel i can be pretty handsome when "I try" but yh, still a way to go. I mean, I started pretty low, couldn't even stand straight, looking almost all the time to the ground and had a horrible time talking to the opposite gender, even with friends, to a lesser extent. Physical contact was, of course, even worse. Now it's pretty much problem solved, but still too shy to try flirting xD That and I guess too scared to bother people/being a creep
