Well...I listened to it. Very closely.

I need all of you to tell me—loudly and unison—that all of these horrible sounds I'm hearing are completely in my head because I'm doing that thing I always do and it is NOT CONDUSIVE TO TRYING NEW THINGS, which is how I got this song in the first place.

Anyway. This is the second draft. I just added some sauce to it. Let me know if you prefer this over the previous draft. If you know why you like or dislike it compared to Draft 1, please tell me. 🙏🏻

First off, sorry for not giving my morning brain thoughts for draft one, life and a book (fourth wing if you're curious) kept me busy. Secondly and more importantly thoughts on draft 2: I like, it is good. It could just be because i only gave both drafts two listens but i cant quite tell what the differences are but regardless. particularly like the chrous and the sudden stop is a juicy twist.

After spending the weekend listening to draft one, and the last hour or so listening to draft two, here is what I got. Both drafts are excelent, however, I feel like draft two is the nicer listening. The processing on some of the audio is crisper and it feels brighter. I know that is most likely not super helpful, but both versions are well executed from a technical standpoint. At 16 seconds, I like the "ash" better in draft two. In draft one it sounds like "ass" I love the processing on the "do it" in verse two in draft two. Overall, I like the mix better on draft two I wish I could tell you more why draft two feels better, it just does. Either way it's a bop and I can't wait to share it in every last Discord and group chat I am in.

The "ass" was also bothering me so I fixed it. I also rerecorded both of the "Do it" There's one more line I need to do that for tomorrow, but yeah, it's all coming along nicely so far. FOR ONCE. Additionally, I delayed one note...somewhere? Idk. It sounds like the record skipping to me, but in a really cool way. And there's also a sort of ⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️ that I've been putting in my songs lately. Oh, and the Outro has a very quiet backup that's one octave lower to add depth and spice. I'm also noticing the "brighter," but I kinda hate it. Best try not to think about it.

Yeah those horrible sounds are 100% just in your head. After listening to Draft 1 the other day and now flipping back and forth between the two a half dozen times, I definitely love Draft 2 a lot more. Going off what Robert said, the mix just feels a lot cleaner in this draft, and the lyrics stand out better. Draft 1 had a bit too much reverb over the lyrics, especially in the second half, and made some words hard to understand or cut off entirely. Or to phrase it another way, when I listened to Draft 1, there are times where I can “hear” lyrics, but it feels like there’s a “fuzz” over them that my brain doesn’t like unless I focus through it, which makes it harder for casual listening.

I listened to both tracks at the same time, one in each ear on my studio headphones. song was already good, the little changes make it better

Improvement has been made! Yeah, sometimes I want fuzzy words, but not when I have gorgeous poetry like this. I have a few more lines to clean up before it's done, but if it shipped like this, I wouldn't be embarasssed. And thanks for telling me I gaslighting myself. Bc I am. I always am. 😅

I like it (I'm a noob and have not other constructive feedback)

Sounds Good to me. Echoing what others have said, it's cleaner than draft 1 and easier to listen to. The melody also gets a little stuck in my head.
