For me this album clicked pretty instantly!!! I feel very connected to these songs and they affected me emotionally a lot more than Midnights so I think that helps with the fathoming as well if you relate to them or they move you on a personal level. I think also the production and melodies can play into it whether you like/don't like them, some songs will be easier or harder to get into!!! But the double album/anthology of it all definitely factors in. It's a lot at once and I think the length also is giving people listening fatigue and causing the songs to blur together more. With more songs to choose from it's more likely that people will gravitate to just a few at first and maybe aren't spending time with the album as a whole. Random ramblings ahaha 😂 thank you for the video as always girls!!! 🥰

regarding the lack of mainstream media promo and album stuff for tortured poets, I think a lot of people were screaming that she was "overexposed", or that she was proving/making a point that she really dosen't NEED the industry or the promo or any of it. She can sell records just on her name...Also, she is on tour..and added a new set, but I do find it hard to believe that she dosen't have ANYTHING else, seeing as though she is very passionate about the stuff she makes...and likes to share it...It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I could be wrong, but I think while she’s really proud of tortured poets obviously and she’s so excited to play the songs for the fans because she knows they love them and appreciate them. I don’t necessarily think she wants to do a lot of promotion in terms of press or talk shows for it because emotionally she’s so not in that place anymore. I think that’s why the things we have gotten are things that the true fans love the scavenger hunt around the world for the QR codes the pop-up library thing with all the clues and the Voice Memos.

Also, I had a major fathoming today that I think one of the main reasons we all love Taylor's music so much, and why she's been so successful, is that her albums are almost like new seasons of a TV show. Like they are so jam-packed with storytelling that it's more than just enjoying the new songs from an artist... it's getting to know her as the protagonist of this story better and discovering new plot twists along the way. We're all waiting with bated breath for the next season to drop to find out what happens next in the story. Truly incredible stuff!

Prepping for rereleases as a fairly newer swiftie. For fearless I had not listened to the album before, I liked Taylor enough to know the majority of the songs but I didn’t go out of my way to learn the album before TV dropped. I loved learning the songs like it was a brand new album for me with some comfort songs I already knew. For Speak Now I did the exact opposite and as soon as she announced the release date I did nothing but listen to the og album and learn it front to back. When Speak NowTV dropped it was exciting to try to listen for differences and changes and fit the vault songs into the era. I liked both ways of not listening to prepare and listening to prepare. Not sure how I’m going to handle Debut yet. I’m leaning towards listening like crazy like I did for Speak Now.

I became a swiftie with the Red TV release… I was a casual fan since Red OG came out, so I knew her albums from that point to present, but pretty much stayed away from speak now until the re-recording came out, and have done the same for debut. For me it’s not necessarily because I didn’t want to stream the stolen versions, but because I struggled with the mixing and vocals of the older albums… something about them did the opposite of scratching an itch in my head and prevented me from truly connecting! I know that so many people have a bond with the originals but because I didn’t listen to her back then, I don’t have that same soft spot for them and all I could hear was the inconsistencies, so I value the TVs so much! Anyways all that to say that I barely know debut and cannot wait to fathom when TV comes out!! ♥️

Then I found her music so helpful and it help me go through so much and I start going through so many YouTube videos to know het like I didn’t know the whole rerecording process that she didn’t own masters, what really reputation was I didn’t didn’t know about 2009 VMAs and her cancellation and at the time I didn’t have a thing I had only YouTube and I was looking for a way to watch miss Americana and that’s the way I found you girls ♥️♥️ and went through rabbit hole with you and stateed understanding her and now I can’t imagine my life without her and her music. And I didn’t even know about folklore until you put out the video and I was like oh no but no, I can’t imagine my life without folklore like that’s my number one album now. Anyways, long story short just wanna let you know I’m so grateful for you and your channel and the way you helped me and I’m sure many other people to understand who she really is that she’s not that what media is telling and was telling us that she’s a serial and she’s like not a big deal But now every time I watch clip on TikTok or like I’m putting my earphones to watch the glitchy live streams at work. Travis most likely went back to the states from Italy, he has his Kelce jam this Saturday. After that, my guess is he’ll probably stay in Kansas City for a couple days after that as the Chiefs off-season team activities that are optional he usually goes to at least one of those sessions occurs I believe on like the 20th and maybe 21 May. Then will probably rejoin Taylor unless he’s got more filming to do for the Ryan Murphy TV show he has what is described as a small but significant guest spot. I believe he has tight end university which he’s committed to sometime in June as well as mandatory mini camp with the Chiefs and then they’re official preseason starts up sometime in July. Needless to say, I think he’s gonna be popping in and out of visiting her on the tour all summer long until official preseason stuff starts up in July.

Okay so if the Karma album theory is real what if the songs she had started for that album end up as the vault tracks for Rep TV? She said the Rep TV vault tracks were fire. Fire=orange. Maybe? I am not at all a Karma truther. I think it’s pure fan fiction and she had decided she’d take time off after 1989 as it was such a peak. She explored having a break, giving songs to other people. I think she and Calvin were considering her having a break, she was not seen going in the studio that whole year whereas every album appears after she’s been reported as going into the studio. Her friends commented that she’d ’gone back in the studio’ when she started the Rep stuff… sorry know it’s a rant but kind of tired of it I guess

I think they meant something was wrong after the red tv release, before the next re-recording. Like, she had planned to do 1989 but had to wait because of the lawsuit, and then there were the problems with the Speak Now trademark and that had to wait, too. I *believe* that is what they are referring to, but I could be wrong. Also, isn't this when she and Joe maybe started having problems? Everything you said about the 1989 vault tracks is how I feel about the Red vault tracks. Those tracks make me have a muchhh stronger connection to Red and made it move up. The 1989 tracks couldn’t make that album move higher for me cuz it was already so high but I genuinely think the Red vault tracks made that album stronger.

I didn’t become a Swiftie until mid-Midnights era. When I quickly realized how superior she is, I went DEEP down the rabbit hole and binged her entire discography on repeat, along with soaking up all the TS content from creators like you. So no, I couldn’t wait for each re-record - I HAD TO know every single song of every single album. I mean, there are AMAZING songs on Debut and Reputation (and at the time, SN & 1989 OG stolen versions). How could I possibly let them just sit there unexplored??? In my TS Discography playlist, after TTPD Anthology, the next song is Highway Don’t Care, and it feels oddly seamless (and comforting?) to go right into an old country song after The Manuscript. I’ve even listened to all the old homeless (not on an album) Debut-era songs on YouTube that are hopefully going to land in the TV Vault, like I Heart Question Mark, I’d Lie, etc. I CANNOT WAIT for the last 2 TVs, but at the same time, can you imagine how sad it will be when the day arrives when there are no more Eras Tour shows left AND no more re-records to look forward to????? Helllllppppp

About the listening to OG vs re-records as a newer fan: I'm a newer big fan of Taylor; I was always a casual fan since way back when Love Story came out, I generally liked her singles but never got super invested till about six months ago. I was aware of her re-recording process, but when I went all in on experiencing her work from the beginning, I actually listened to the original versions a few times before I moved on to the Taylor's Versions. A part of me feels like this is kind of taboo, but my perspective on it was just that I wanted to experience the original work, which had the Taylor of that time putting specific feeling and intention into it with what she was thinking at the time. To understand where she came from, her journey, her evolution, to attribute Fearless's songwriting to the 16-18 year old Taylor who wrote it and was singing it; to attribute Speak Now's 18-20 year old's vocals to the 18-20 year old Taylor singing it; to understand the work she began to work with Max Martin on in Red and 1989. Instead of jumping ahead to the Taylor who has largely reached a plateau in her evolution (not in a bad way, she's just not growing up anymore), who has the mature voice and different feelings about things that happened to her 15+ years ago. Who is also not working with many of the people who originally produced these works. I felt like I wanted to understand where it all came from to better understand and contextualise where it has all ended up.

i'm glad that she dropped the anthology on the same night. i think if i had listened to the first part for a couple of weeks, then she dropped 15 more songs, i would have felt a strange disconnect between the two. when i listen straight through, i still differentiate between the OG and the anthology when the black dog starts, and i literally only listened to the second half 20 minutes after i finished the original ttpd. a bigger space before dropping the second part would have made me view their relationship to each other differently. and i have to say that kaelen (emily's version) dancing around with ari chicken might be one of the cutest things ever!

It's pretty early for her to be playing from so deep in the anthology, and she said it's one of her favorites (& I think it helps that it's also a fan favorite from what I gather). I NEED Bonny and all swifties really to fathom Mary’s song…it has COMPLETELY different and lengthy choruses every time, a proposal bridge that walked so Love Story could run, and an outro that repeats that first line of the song but slightly changes the lyrics for one final twist 😍. It has one of the first references of the truck (with muddy tires because they’re “turning up” creek beds). It’s the first 2am reference. Obviously the “I’ll be 87 you’ll be 89”!!!!! The manifestation of that lyric 🤯 Finally, I love the song in general because I think it perfectly encapsulates the feeling of love that Taylor has been looking for all along—someone who feels like a best friend (you are in love), someone her parents, specifically father (thank you Scott for the merch) would love, someone who she can be “just two kids” with which would bring so much healing to her younger self, since she’s written so much about feeling left out at that age and not fitting in/being accepted. Someone who sticks around even when they fight (the other side of the door/ayhtdws). And someone she could build her family with and grow old together with. It’s proof from day one that she never wanted to date around just to be able to write songs about her exes—she’s always been looking for a partner, someone who knows her deeply and has spent time to get to know her, who would love her regardless of the doubts of others, and someone she could love so much in return, for her whole life. This is kinda unhinged but I remember I was 11 (so I think late 2008???) and on my first ever holiday/flight to The Gold Coast from NZ. My parents paid extra so we could have one of those electronic devices and I found the love story music video and have pretty much been obsessed since! I think it helps to really think of TTPD as 2 separate albums. I’ve been listening to each album separately (TP & TP:Anthology) and that has really helped me become familiar with these songs much faster. Trying to listen to all 31 songs in one shot just wasn’t working for me. So I’d recommend breaking it up.. listen to TP one day, and the Anthology on another day. Putting these albums on shuffle helps too.

I’ve been a casual listener since fearless but didn’t fully emerge myself in the older albums until after evermore, so debut is really the only album I haven’t been as part of. And for me, I started listening to it A LOT last fall after we got 1989 TV. Mostly because I know Rep by heart and I really wanted to have a moment with debut before TV comes out (since those are the last two). Because knowing all of its quirks and the melodies and the way she sings it by heart, is so much more fun to hear the rerecordings for the first time since you fathom the small changes right away. So that’s how I’ve approached it. Also, I’m European and going to the eras tour this summer and I would just love to be able to sing along to every word of all of her songs, including debut if I get it as a surprise song. So that’s also why I want to go back before and really fathom it, and it’s so much fun! I’m really enjoying it

the reason i think people are confused is because they’re not familiar with the taylor and matty lore. also the way she writes about their relationship is very complex and multifaceted. regarding him, there’s songs about being in love, feeling like he’s her bff, twin, being upset that he left, being heartbroken, reminiscing on the past, longing, wanting him back, not wanting him back, forgiveness, acceptance. so all these themes contradict each other at times but they are written with the same muse in mind.

I believe Peter is the ur-text origin of the album concept. It explains how long the MH rel has been built around the promise they would get together when grown up. Cardigan is a memory of their early time too. Chloe and Sam etc is how hard it was to watch all the years it wasn’t happening. I didn’t know it posted. 🫣 And honestly I wanted to delete it, because I was having a really hard time putting together a coherent thought about this in such short form. I’m usually just a lurker. Also, because Tay said to us in the manuscript that the story is ours now… so I’m not here to change people’s minds about who they seem to think the “other muse and poet” is. I completely agree with everything you’re saying about the complex and multifaceted dialogue that’s been happening between “these two tortured poets” since Red era (She and Matty didn’t know each other then). I guess I just have a very different opinion about who that other muse and poet is, and that’s ok. PINK & BLUE is very real, and TS/HS will always be the biggest fans of that story!!! They were each others’ first real loves, and up until last year it was never quite buried. I feel like she has been gently SCREAMING those signals to us since night one in Paris with her acoustic set song choices (aside from the Travis nods), because seemly we’ve all so quickly forgotten the last look into the window of her life she gave us before Tortured Poets. It was in fact the 1989 vault, and she told us in those vaults very clearly how much deeper all that love and pain really was back then. It was not hidden, and it was not coded in the slightest!

I mean it’s fun to speculate but also logistically why would she scrap an entire album that was probably finished just to pivot and do something else. That’s just never been her style, she knows what she wants from an album and she does it. So if the karma album was real, she’d just add the songs she loves to the actual rep album. I’ll add that I think HS4 is going to be WAY less subtle than his usual ways referencing her as his muse. Not that he’s ever been super subtle about it!! Lol. I love all the songs on the double album BUT I also think this is exactly why I don’t expect a re-record or some surprise 3rd album right away. I still haven’t listen to the album in its entirety. I’ve got about 7 more songs I need to listen to and sit with. It really is an incredibly dense album. This is also the first album I couldn’t listen to as an album. Some albums, like 1989 and Folklore and Evermore, sound more cohesive and lend themselves to be heard as a whole. TTPD is more chaotic and disjointed, I think, which is fine because I think that was more of what she was going through. But that’s why I felt easier to just pay attention to one song at a time and take that in before moving on to another. That doesn’t mean I have them fully fathomed; they’re just easier to break down that way. At least for me.

Hey I'm a Sydney girlie but i live in Belfast, the titanic was built here like there's a museum and there's these 2 big yellow cranes in the city that built the Titanic. There's the giants causway which is really cool and about an hour and a half from Belfast . Idk if your much history girlies but there's a lot of stuff here about the Troubles but otherwise Dublin is by far a much bigger and more touristy place and it's a gorgeous city.

Obvi there is a lot about harry but now that we have the context from TTPD, and Matty and her are linked from 2013 (she asked the 1975 to tour with her on Red) that’s a whole year before 1989 was released. While I think 31 songs is a lot, I don’t think it’s “too many” — even your initial fathoming during the reaction videos seem to be greater than what the average listener will glean from the album. I also think people can simply enjoy it for what it is musically, versus having to figure out what every lyric means, like it’s some kind of competition to “fully fathom.” My meager 2¢ ☺️

Hello, French swifties here ! In the south of France it depends what you would like to do ! If you want to go to the beach I would recommend La Ciotat, Cassis, near Marseille or Côte d'azur ; Cannes, Nice, Villefranche-sur-mer (more quiet, next to Nice). There are also Biarritz, Hossegor on the south west of France, where you have the Atlantic ocean ! The vibe is totally different than the Mediterraen sea. If you would like to visit cute villages I would recommend Provence/Lubéron; Avignon, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Saintes Maries de la Mer... To answer you guys question about the recordings and fathoming the albums. I became a fan of hers through Folklore. I liked her singles but Folklore was the album that convinced me to listen to her past albums all the way. I've always loved reputation before I listened to folklore all the way. With her doing the recordings for Fearless, Red, 1989, and Speak Now those were albums that I knew singles but not the whole body of work. Reputation is the only exception where I know the album wholly before we get Rep TV. For debut I plan on listening to that one once we get it as Taylors Version. That's the beauty of her recording her past albums is it gives fans who don't know those albums wholly or a fan during the original album release to get a connection with that album.

Yeah I feel the debut discussion soo deeply. Like I've been a fan of Taylors music since I was like 12/13 (I'm 28 now lol) and although I didn't become the swiftie I am now until Red, the first songs of Taylors I ever heard and knew were Invisible and Teardrops on my Guitar but I didn't know there was an album so I missed it at that time in my life when I would have connected to it so I've always found it hard to want to know debut better so I have a fair few songs I really don't know, but I am SO EXCITED to get the rerecord and FINALLY have my moment with it hearing it with her current vocals because Debut deserves better. I'm excited to fathom her beauty 💚

They have an interactive Titanic museum in Belfast!!! It’s super cool and would be a fun quick stop on your trip. I went to Ireland last September it was so beautiful. If you guys are staying in Northern Ireland make sure to take a trip up to the Causeway Coast it’s only about an hour from Belfast, it was my favorite part of the trip. Make sure to see Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Dunluce Castle, and the Dark Hedges (they filmed GOT here). All of these places are within 10 minutes of each other!!! Hope you guys have the best time in Ireland 💖💖💖

Go to Arles, France! It's where Van Gogh used to paint several of his famous paintings, (and you can get lavender ice cream in the summer down in the south of France!) (p.s: pair the lavender ice cream with a lemon sorbet. so good!)

I was at Stockholm N1(and N3) so I got Peter but the first time I listened to it I sobbed so hard bc it reminded me of a childhood friend so I put it in the same place in my mind as like Ronan and sygb like I love them but I literally won't force myself to ever listen to them again so when I heard the piano I just started sobbing but didn't know the lyrics😀😀 now I've desensitized myself to it a bit so I listen to it and adore it but if I listen to closely to the lyrics I will die🥰

Here's Taylor in Sweden, 2/3rds of the way through her Eras Era, 7 months left on the tour and just hard launched the TTPD Era... and yet, she's about to create her best work of all: The Life Of A Showgirl. Taylor is absolutely insanely talented and giving. Never mind, New Heights, the engagement and the wedding. Debut TV, TS13 by the end of 2026, maybe?
