well I will say that Jake Bongiovi proposed to Millie Bobby Brown when they were scuba diving underwater and after Millie said yes, she went to show him the ring on her finger, and then the ring fell off, but jake was able to scoop up and save the ring before it fell down to the bottom of the ocean 😂

I love hearing different engagement stories! My husband proposed the day we arrived in Venice for a 2 week Italy trip. Venice is one of my favorite cities in the world, so he definitely knew his gal. He arranged everything with a photographer, so as we were walking to dinner (and had an excuse to be dressed up), we came to this secluded area with a pretty little bridge. The photographer was posing as a tourist faced the other way taking pictures, but as soon as he knelt down she turned and started snapping! After the initial excitement I did want to take a ring picture on my phone, but it was mostly so I could immediately tell my mom lol We then had a mini photoshoot before doing a full blown engagement shoot at the crack of dawn a couple days later at some amazing spots in Venice that normally would have been teeming with people. Absolutely one of my best memories!

Love you reacting to this because I love what Travis said, “the person who I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.” I could honestly see Taylor maybe writing a song for their first dance that would just be for the two of them. In regards to Travis and music, I think that one of the guys from the chainsmokers talked about how interested Travis was in music and about their process of DJing and stuff but it sounds like from the little interview he did with Erin Andrews last week that they’re going to have a live band. Can you imagine if they had The Agency play for them? All the people who were there for Taylor throughout the years now playing for her wedding 🥹

Travis is very much an all kinds of music lover. I think that is probably something him and Taylor really connect on. Everyone jokes about how it will be when the two of them are at an award show together because they will be dancing at their seats together. He loves live music like she does. He started a music festival in KC after the 2023 Super Bowl (the Kelce Bowl). It’s call Kelce Jam. Travis is good friends with DJ Dom Dolla. They went to his set at Coachella. He’s also friends with the Chainsmokers. Travis has had Machine Gun Kelly (who he’s friends with) and Little Wayne perform at Kelce Jam. He loves bands like AC/DC. He’s friends with Justin Timberlake so he’s commented about *NSYNC being the boy band he preferred when younger. He’s really all over the place with what he likes. Rap, hip hop, pop, classics, country… pretty much everything. I’m sure Taylor was blown away when they met that he started a music festival and he knows/is friends with so many people in the music industry. Jason has a couple Christmas albums that he has done with some guys on the Eagles team for charity. Travis has sung on a couple songs with Jason and he has a pretty good voice. Stevie Nicks even sang a song with Jason on this past Christmas album. Im sure Taylor had a hand in making that happen lol.

I agree with you chickens completely on your ideas of marriage and proposals. Your theory--the guy has to be just a smidgen more obsessed than the girl--has worked great for me and my hubby. I think that Travis’ low energy can also be due to the fact that the Chief’s have lost their first two games of the season. I’m a football girlie and a regular New Heights watcher, he’s often like this if his team isn’t doing well. Sports psychology is very intense, he takes it very personally if they aren’t performing up to his personal standard. It’s actually quite admirable imo. He takes his job seriously. Who can relate like our perfectionist queen Taylor?

Travis was probably exhausted they just had there game opener in Brazil. They also lost the game and Travis and one of his teammates had a bad collision that dislocated his teammates shoulder and took him out of the game. Travis was extremely upset after that. They record The podcast on Mondays and this game was on like Saturday or something. Travelling like that is allot for them. So the jetlag and stresses of that game were really weighing on him. They talk about all of that later on in the episode and he really beats himself up over it. So I think that was why his energy was low.

Yes this- he also was involved in the first moment of the season in which his teammate Xavier Worthy hurt his shoulder and he's still out of the game because of it. And I'm sure if he came on all peppy after a loss would be met with a lot of criticism from football fans for not taking work seriously enough, etc.

Proposal story! My boyfriend proposed to me while on a cruise on 3/14/25. I was with his family on vacation, it was my first cruise, and it was near the end of our trip. After our formal dinner night we went back to our little private room to change to go to another event later that night and my bf said “before you change out of that beautiful dress I have a question to ask you.” And I turned around and he was down on one knee and I was so surprised! Mainly cause I did all the packing and such so I was rather confused where he packed the ring and when he ordered it cause I work from home as well. I love that it was just us though I was so excited and on adrenaline, I did run out of the room and accidentally ran into his mom and immediately burst into tears and told her😂😅 so I do regret how I didn’t breathe and take that moment with him alone but I just was so happy.

Interesting chat as always! I think social media can definitely give us one idea of marriage and weddings but it isn’t true to my experience. With my close friends, most of those who are married had very modest ceremonies, in more basic venues, with friends and family helping with eg flowers and cakes. They weren’t saving up for this for years and years. This approach appeals to me, I wouldn’t want to spend so much on one day that it becomes a tragedy if a tiny thing goes wrong because of all these high expectations, if that makes sense.

Marriage is so weird. I was totally against it. Felt like a big show to me and hated the idea of people looking at me. We ended up having nine family members at our wedding in the Lakes and my husband was like, we have to have Lover as our first dance 💅🏻 I nearly vomited at the time but I channelled my inner romantic in the end because it felt right. I actually think if it is not leaked ahead of time or papped we get 1-5 photos from Taylor in the month. The biggest issues are they’ll have to use lots of third parties (caterer, baker, florist) and Jason and Patrick own private planes that are tracked on Reddit. I’m getting married next year and even though we want an intimate wedding, it’s been incredibly hard to find inspiration since everything just seems so staged and impossible wherever you look. It’s also kind of impossible not to think about others in the process and how to also make it special for them because of course we want everybody else to have a great time. I hear you about the pomp of the ‘wedding’.. do it how it’s most authentic to you!! My husband and I had our babies first and didn’t get married until our youngest was 3 because we really wanted to make sure it was want we wanted. And then is was amazing because it was like a celebration of the life we had created and were living together, it was a cherry on top and it was amazing to celebrate how much we went through and how far we had come with our loved ones. But the song... its going to have to be "their song", I am sure they have one, and I agree it will be old school, 1980s or older. I’ve grown up not that fussed about marriage, as my parents never married but have been together for around 35 years. It was such a lovely surprise and now I’m excited yet dreading planning a wedding 😂 something small for the ceremony and a huge party after is absolutely perfect for us. My husband (we’ve been married 22 years) and I had already decided we were getting married but we worked at the same place and he got down on a knee with the ring by my workstation and girl NO. I snatched the ring and said thank you but then I was like “get up before anybody notices”. The cringe I felt in my bones thinking anybody else saw our private moment made me die a little.

My partner Josh proposed to me the same week as Tay and Travis. We were planning a one-on one camping weekend and we drove out to a forest road in the mountains and there was not a single person for miles around us. He asked if i wanted to walk over to get a better view of the sunset and then he proposed. It was a moment that was just for him and me which feels so special. I was so excited in the moment he needed to remind me to look at the ring haha! We are planning to elope then have a party with our family and friends which feels like the perfect balance about protecting the moments that we want to be ours vs moments shared with the people we love.

My mom flew in for my birthday and her me and my boyfriend went to a park where you can swim with dolphins and a dolphin swam to me with a bouey that said will you marry me? And on the beach there was a clamshell on a decorated stand with the ring in it. Was very me.

this is so random but ur convo about how queer relationships are the same but different reminded me of this CRAZY thing that happened to me last year 😭 i left this comment abt my experience being in a relationship for six years on an emma chamberlain podcast episode bc emma implied that the honeymoon phase is delusion and pretend, and some lady replied to me saying "Girl, men don't need that long to figure out if they want to marry you for life. I know you won't listen but men don't wait more than 1-2 years to marry a woman they really want. You might not be bored but he is dragging you along." And i just responded "I'm 22 and we've been dating since we were 16. also, not a man." I truly think i gagged tf out of her I have been thinking more about marriage lately, i totally agree with what y'all said abt so many people getting married for the wrong reasons. lately i've just been feeling scared about losing marriage equality
