I think it's cute to get everyone together to listen to the album, also it said it's like 89 minutes so if the album is approximately 45 minutes (because it's 1 vinyl only so that's more or less the max it can fit) then we still have another 45 minutes of bts content and yapping about the music!!

You know you’ve been in music fandoms for a while when you remember that some big pop artists like One Direction would have ‘listening parties’ in the theatre to go along with an album release. It was usually a one day event so people could hear the album for the first time and it was right before the album dropped so they would try to prevent recording. So fans would go to be able to hear it just that little bit sooner and maybe get a bit of extra footage like chats about the songs etc. This announcement takes me completely back to that time, but I understand making it a celebration of the release of the album rather than a true early listen because in today’s world there is NO WAY that the music wouldn’t be everywhere immediately. Overall the main purpose was bringing fans together, having a memorable experience and creating more hype around the release.

I did that for ttpd! Was listening with a friend and it came at 5am our time (no thank u lol) but she had work all day so we waited until 5pm! Took crazy restraint bc I was free at her house all day but so worth it to be alert lol and to experience it together. Bonny thank you for gracing us despite your illness, feel better!! I thought about buying tickets! I got on the website, waited my turn to look at the dates and times. But I participated in the iconic phenomenon that was the first Twilight movie; and as much as much as I know seeing Showgirl Release in theaters would be iconic, I also remembered how much I personally (don’t) enjoy being around so many strangers. I’m far too awkward, and just much better at making friends in smaller settings :)

My opinion, but at least it’s Taylor’s curated “cash grab.” It’s an opportunity to bring her community together and create buzz and excitement. When we gather in theaters the world takes notice and sees us sharing and dancing and in our happy Swiftie glory. Other places have Swiftie parties all the time to just gather and listen to the music all night and the prices aren’t cheap, oftentimes. If Taylor can keep the buzz in theater, it brings business back there and in a lot of places movie theaters are struggling- and some chains only survived bc of the Eras Tour release and event popularity.

If her team did this the way they did the Eras Tour (as much in house as possible), I think this is so ethically and financially responsible. Although we all experience Taylor together via social media platforms like this, I feel this reduces clickbait practices and unethical influencers who profit by being first and being controversial by moving the collective experience to something over which she isn’t manipulated and her fans aren’t baited. Financially, she is reducing how other tech sources profit from her which I think is mentally healthy for her and very business savvy.

Billie did a movie like this for her last album Hit Me Hard and Soft and it was amazing! A lot of people don't have access to good speakers, and hearing the entire album in order with no breaks and it having transitions between each song was awesome 😍 It also had a clip of an interview with Billie and Finneas. my best friend that's a swiftie doesn't live in the same state as me so I do really like irl swiftie events cuz I need to meet new swiftie friends! I already got my tickets for Oct 3 at 8pm I'm so excited! I bet there will be popcorn buckets and/or cups too! 🩷
