In that opening monologue alone I hear so much of what ended up on showgirl!! Like hello the song The Life Of A Showgirl is literally that mentor figure saying no you shouldn’t do it and warning you like she said that that is everyone’s experience that they are warned against doing that type of profession (but she hopes that they will tell their mentees ”yes” tho, ”go do it, try it” if they are ever in the position of being the mentor which is so beautiful). And then I hear Opalite in there with the tectonic plates and how much effort it took and how it’s not some miracle where all the pieces just fall into place, it is not a beautiful glittering stone they just found in nature it is manmade with hard work and research and practice over years on how to achieve the right result. And touches of Ophelia as well in like ”all that time I sat alone in my tower you were just honing your powers, now I can see it all” like it’s on theme with it has taken all the work and experience along the way to ever get to this point and it’s not like oh I wish every tour would’ve been like this or I wish I just would’ve not had those other experiences and just waited for this one cause one couldn’t exist without the other, like what’s happening now is also a result of all you learned and experienced before and how it affected you and how you reflected upon it etc, and you can’t just erase all of the earlier stuff cause then there wouldn’t be exactly this, this is not something you can just skip ahead to or wait for, it is a result of and dependent on everything prior. To say it in Taylor’s words ”without all the exes, fights and flaws we wouldn’t be standing here so tall” or ”when I count the scars there’s a moment of truth that there wouldn’t be this if there hadn’t been you” or as she says in The Fate Of Ophelia ”all that time I sat alone in my tower you were just honing your powers, now I can see it all” and I kinda wished she would switch it up and say in one of the choruses ”all that time i sat alone in my tower I was just honing MY powers, now i can see it all”, in my head I imagine this is also simultaneously what she means. But uh it’s just so cool to see her thoughts and how they fit into her life and how she then puts them on an album in a neatly tied concept and you can then like untie it and try to see where was the inspiration in her life and also how it applies to your own life and then you tie it up again and the concept just holds so much🫶

They include a brief shot of him, as well as audio of him saying the thing about how her potentially speaking out and backing Democratic candidates could "halve the number of people that come to [her] next tour." Judging from that comment as well as his inclusion here to discuss demand for the Eras Tour, I'd assume he has a role specifically in tour managing and logistics for her.

Oh allow me to RANT about this episode for a single second!! PLEASE READ. It is actually IMPRESSIVE how Taylor managed to take a terrible, scary and awful thing that happened to the fandom and to her, and turned it into a story of LOVE and RESPECT OVERCOMING hatred. She fought fear and heartbreak with defiance and love for her fans when performing and exposing herself after such scary incidents. AND in return, the fans showed up for her, also exposing and risking their lives for the sake of celebrating not only their love for Taylor, but for their love of music, freedom, and unity. The act of just showing up is of such bravery that I am speechless. These two forces, Taylor (and her team by default) and the fandom retroactively fueled each other and made each other realize that they could in fact KEEP CELEBRATING this phenomenon that the eras tour was. We had each other's back that day, whether it was in person or online, and that's why I will always love and cherish this fandom so much. My sister and I were supposed to go to one of those London's shows, but as we had already seen Taylor in Edinburgh and Liverpool, we decided to give our tickets to 2 other Spanish girls that had never seen Taylor. Their only tickets were for one of the Vienna shows, so it felt right and we do not regret it one bit. We know they had the time of their lives as they thanked us a million times, and that my friends, IS WHAT LOVE AND THIS COMMUNITY IS ALL ABOUT.

london n4 was part of one of the most incredible and overwhelming days ever. starting the morning heading to the meetup to see bon and em, then heading to wembley to see taylor live for the first time, then laying in bed wide awake in the london hotel looking at photos from the day because it was impossible to come down from the overstimulation. it was truly one of the best days of my life, and knowing i can watch parts of it over and over again is incredible. it's crazy to know what she was doing behind the scenes as we were at the meetup and making our way to the stadium. i love that she could feel how much we were trying to support her on that night. also, she played king of my heart/the alchemy on piano that night. she was definitely sending travis a signal that she wished he was there

i'm obsessed with knowing more about the people behind the scenes. erica seems to be her personal assistant for the tour (at least) and the way they are such a well oiled machine is so cool to see. erica meets her backstage, walks with her to the car, hands drew her bottle of water to drink in the car on the way back to the hotel, helps pull her midnights boots off, takes them from her to put them back for the next night, tells her to get some sleep and says "love ya". taylor responds with "love you". imagine knowing taylor well enough to casually tell her you love her, like you've done it hundreds of times, and she just says it back like it's a normal thing. it makes me incredibly happy that she has non-celebrity people in her life who have deep friendships with her and easily express their love for her first. she has love all around her and it's so heartwarming

I loved how much of a focus there was in the people who made the Eras Tour, could've been just her but it's beautiful how much she cared about this people and about showing their talent and hard work. And how commited everyone was to make each night special for everyone. And btw people yes weed is a drug, you can color it any way you want but it is, and she even talked in the past about avoiding alcohol for the tour, and riding it out means riding it out not having a crutch because using it as one is how people become dependent on it.

My Eras tour night was 15/08 at Wembley 💖 I was gutted I didn't get to bump into you two chickens! It was so vulnerable of Taylor to show all of that ep 1!! I feel even more emotional knowing our extra loud cheers reached her and made her feel so loved at time when she needed it the most! I felt so nervous attending mostly because it was the first evening I had ever left my 9 month old son. Rationally I knew it would be safer to attend than before Vienna but the thought of my son growing up without a mother and father (my husband came too) was very nearly too much. When Ed asked what she was doing with her 2 months off the scene was cut quite abruptly, I think she didn't want us to know what her reply was. I imagine filming was due to begin in Vienna because she was waiting until TTPD was out and established, reducing the risk of leaks. I also think that all the shots of her and the performers that appeared on the big screens in each show were recorded, but it was during that last show in Vancouver that two camera men were actually on the stage, following her about.
