I was at one of the Indianapolis shows. We had never been there before, but the way that city showed up for Taylor from the moment you landed at the airport absolutely shocked me. Every single local person we met, from uber drivers to hotel receptionists to waiters to bartenders, was just so happy for us to be there. It felt like they were celebrating with us regardless if they even knew a single song by Taylor. I remember wandering the city the day before our show and taking pictures of all the new street names. Moms were pulling over on the side of the road so their girls could pass out friendship bracelets to everyone they saw. People were dancing in the streets. It was so so so special, and I am so glad they featured that in this episode.

Hope you both have a lovely Christmas! Episode 4 is also soooo good it has it all beloved boss Taylor, Popstar taylor, girl and a guitar Taylor, lovergirl Taylor I feel like people sometimes forget that she can be all of it at once just like we're all complex. Sab getting emotional when Taylor started playing, Whyley being able to join the dance, Travis joining in for the show, Andrea just being an icon all great because I have been saying if you have a type and it's not working maybe your type is just wrong. The accoustic set is the set that always made me say her brain loves her, so watching her say that it's good for her brain was lovely, yes!! work that breain!! Idk why anyone even thought that the whole thing was gonna be about Travis but what he brought to this is so important, sometimes we're so focused on what we think we want that we're blind to what could connect us to other people around us. Also (sorry so many thoughts) people going back and realizing that ttpd is a loooot more joever is so funny because yeah he's in every single song, ratty was a really bad part of a manic episode and a manipulator but joever was the big blow, joever is even in father figure imo.

"It's rad" is one of those expressions that people criticize Taylor for using, like "metal as hell". . If you didn't know, "rad" is short for radical, and this term came out of California surfing and skateboarding culture in the 1970's. I grew up in Ohio, same as Travis and Jason and not far from either Pennsylvania or Tennessee. I am quite a bit older than them all, but I grew up saying "It's rad". I haven't heard anyone say it in like 20 years or more, but I did move away from Middle America. I would not be surprised if people in Ohio are still saying it.

I work in a senior living facility, and I always work Christmas Day. My kids are grown, and the grandkids are with their other grandparents, so my hubby and I just chill. We had ABSOLUTELY no idea that 2025 was going to be the greatest year in Swiftie history! Taylor finally OWNS her work. Taylor did a little podcast. Taylor got ENGAGED. I think the point was more of the fact Joe just couldn’t handle Taylor’s fame and success and if you listen to a lot of her songs, it seems as though he made her feel guilty for it and no matter what she did or sacrificed, it still wasn’t good enough. Yes he’s had a fair few acting jobs but I feel he was insecure about it because Taylor was more successful and he was never truly comfortable with that. And going by Taylor’s own words it seems like the dynastic was bad between then even as far back as Rep Tour ☹️

I think that the real difference between Joe and Travis is their mental health. I remember some stories about Joe how he was basically depressed even as a kid, but Travis? He is so happy (as Andrea said) and just probably has a good mental health. It's not that Joe didn't have a work to do or wasn't passionate about it, from what I've seen he always had multiple movies/series every year, more than most actors I follow. But it is definitely way easier to have (and continue) a relationship with someone who is mentally okay and has a healthy attachment.

I just have to say I was in Indy night 1 and that is my home state/city that I lived in for many years. It is so special to me she included it in the documentary. When I flew in from Texas to see her, the airport was decked out, welcoming us to Swift City. Apparently more than half of those who attended the concert in Indiana were from out of state. It was incredibly special and I will never forget those memories!

I also wanted to add on some thoughts about the episode - watching it back, I really resonated about what she said about the election and being able to give the fans "100% girlhood and hope and belief and sweat and effort because... that's the job." It feels like a major boundary drawing from Taylor and a reminder to all these people expecting her to do so much and speak up about politics all the time; a reminder to those forgetting that at the end of the day, she's a pop star. An incredibly influential pop star, yes, but not a politician. And anyway, as she's proving in every episode, she lives her politics everyday and leads by example constantly: through how she treats her employees, how she celebrates self expression etc. It's a really interesting comment that she makes just after remarking on the similarity of that building-size billboard and the lyrics/music video of Anti Hero. I really love how this doc navigates Taylor Swift the idol versus Taylor the human. It's just like as Florence said: the persona is huge but the person is soft. Something that many people need to be reminded of (something Ed commented on in this too, now I think of it)

I had a thought about that the other day. The thing is, we only ever got to hear the story from taylor. We liked Joe and thought they were endgame, because of Taylor telling us and we don't like Joe now, because of Taylor telling us. Joe never in his life would even think about talking about Taylor ("I am not even going into this world" (or something he said)). Yes, they are always two sides of the story, but we only liked Joe, because Taylor wrote songs about him and we assumed that they are happy and he treats her well. So of course, Emily and Bonnie thought he was a superior man because of Taylors songs. I thought the same. We didn't have any other evidence😂 Joe was always hiding or didn't talk... The difference between Taylor and Travis right now is, that we really see and hear how perfect he treats Taylor and what a great match these two are. So in the end, for me personally, I will never like Joe and I don't need to hear his side of the story. He always chose to stay out of it, so idc.

I just fathomed that in the beginning of this episode she said that TTPD was a “purge of everything bad she felt for two years” and in the beginning of the first episode she said that she came up with the concept for the Eras Tour two years before the tour started. What if her planning to go back on tour and explaining the concept of it and how big it was going to be was the thing that really ended her relationship with Joe? What if the idea of a tour like that and knowing the amount of attention it would bring was the thing that made him just sort of emotionally check out of the relationship?

I had a professor in college that I befriended during a really bad break up and she once told me, "you have to set a precedent at the beginning of a relationship on how you expect to be treated because if you let it slide early its really hard to go back and change the precedent later." And I've always thought about that, not just in relationships but in jobs too. If I start off letting people think I'm fuckwithable then they will always fuck with me. "Edited by" would be the one in charge of the structure choice, kind of directing the crew of "editors" - which are the ones actually digging into the footage and cutting/piecing clips together. "Supervising editor" would be a bit more of a managing position, overseeing the team and acting as bridge with the directors and rest of the team so everything flows well and the creative vision is respected.

These girls are well and truly grounded...having almost met Taylor (through Scott and the personal letters they received off Taylor) I'm pretty sure they are very capable of realising when they're putting her on a pedestal and when it's because they actually know so bloody much she seems so close to touch. It's a bit like Florence said (and I think even Ed alluded to as well) that she got up on stage with her and even though she knows her very well she had a moment of "oh my god, that's Taylor Swift". You even see it with Sabrina, and in the last episode Gracie says it too. Those people STILL put Taylor up on a pedestal at times. I'm certain though that Bon and Emily know Taylor IS only human. I think it is mostly because he never attended any of Taylor's projects, like he was not even there when she got an honorary doctorate. People used to justify his absence by "he has a job" but now that Travis has shown you can actually be there for your partner even if you have a demanding job, people have started the "jobless" jokes as a way of saying that he just didnt want to do it.

I agree with others comments and I’m in my 40’s following these chickens since folklore. They are joyful and beautiful, have an insanely encyclopedic connection with Taylor through their lyrical analysis and interpretation of her art. Which is why she respects them enough to write handwritten letters and Scott took his time to connect as well. Taylor works with people who respect and admire her as fans do. It’s hard not to feel in awe of her genius, her artistry. Is that putting her on a pedestal? Saying she does no wrong and is god like? No. I think your comment is missing the point of this patreon and positive community. Choosing to seek out positive outlooks and interpretations isn’t a pedestal. With there being so much footage, they’ll likely have the supervising editor working with the producers to pull together the storyline, you’ll have the group of editors allocated specific sections to cut and edit together and then you’ll have either a (senior or) edited by who brings all those smaller section of edits together in linear or specific sequence.

people are different. Some people are more focused in work and some a less focused in work and both of this things are ok. I think if you’re not a person who puts work as your number 1 priority it is completely ok for you to want to be with someone who also don’t put work first. I think the whole point to the conversation is that just that Joe and Taylor's energies and priorities didn't match. They might have in the beginning, when Taylor wanted a break from the spotlight, but that just didn't last for her. Its not a bad thing in and of itself, until you start wasting someone's time and just not trying very hard. Of course we don't know everything, but that is how it seems to me. I don't think Joe's a bad guy, he just wasn't the right fit, and I'm glad Taylor finally realized it and moved on.

Yes maybe Joey couldn't handle her fame but there was time where Joe was exactly who she needed and supported her through those hard times. Sweet Nothing is a perfect example of their narrative where she admits that she did need him through the tough time despite her seeming so stoic about it. Also, she states her mum wished Kim K was dead so are we gonna stand up and support her wish of her death? No. It's all figurative. People like Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayor definitely deserve scrutiny because all of that was fucked. However, Joe and Taylor grew apart and possibly wanted different things (we can only contemplate) so doesn't mean he deserves this hate.

Sorry to hop in so late after this was originally posted but I’m re-watching their reactions to the documentary! But personally going off what we know now, Joe didn’t treat Taylor well at all in the end and I don’t think it had anything to do with Joe’s different work priorities, I think he couldn’t ever get past Taylor being Taylor Swift and made her feel awful for it. If anything he expected her to run around after him and his work, he seemed to view his career higher than hers. I’m not saying he is a villain but he definitely wasn’t a good partner and that gets more obvious as time goes by. She bent herself into a pretzel trying to keep their relationship going and she had to sacrifice a lot to keep him happy and it never seemed to be good enough. ‘You’re losing me’ says so much about how their relationship was in the last few years. And I do think he became quite cruel and mean in the end, again, going off what’s been put down. They just wasn’t compatible or aligned in any way by the time their relationship ended.

Late to seeing this - credits are not standardized and are often negotiated as part of contracts but edited by in this way could refer to an edit director type figure, which would be in charge of the final coherence of the episode based on their artistic vision and the director's/producers' artistic vision. The editors could be the people actually manually in charge of the editing process and the supervisor a sort of middleman figure. The division of responsibilities might also have to do with different type of material to edit - fan footage vs interview footage vs "live" footage like dance rehearsals, with someone then supervising how the different things get edited together. Just speculation based on previous experience but it could also be as simple as "edited by" being a senior editor that negotiated a more prominent recognition in their contract
