so through this ep we learn that logan has known hannah for 2 yrs & she clearly doesn't remember him! he never in those 2 years asks her out or anything! then he see that his best friend who has never noticed her is now all the sudden very interested in her! so i think logan is worried that hannah is just another girl to him and isn't actually serious about her! so i don't think he actually has a full on crush on her (there's other reasons that are in the books that i won't spoil)

It’s not as obvious in the show as it is in the book, but at this point (when she walks in on him with the girl), Garrett is still in major denial that he even likes Hannah… he doesn’t want a girlfriend, he’s focused on getting to the NHL, is dealing with his anger issues and trauma from his dad, etc. Yes he is attracted to her, but he barely admits it to himself. And he also truly believes that Hannah doesn’t like him at all, can barely tolerate him as a friend/study partner. Obviously there is a lot of subconscious stuff happening for both of them that is obvious to us as the audience, but he’s not there yet, and she isn’t either. All this to say that him getting with that girl wasn’t a ploy to make her jealous (at least not that I can remember from the book) ❤️❤️❤️❤️

For future episodes, Beau is more friend with Dean but get along with the group and he is a Football player (like Travis)!!

Actually, the crush that Logan has on Hannah is more obvious in the book, so i couldn't say that I picked up on it specifically somewhere in the show. But you guys will see that is very ( and mostly ) important for Logan plotline in the future!

I'm 53 watching this series with my 63 year old boyfriend.. He's so confused how Justin can be outwardly flirting with Hannah in front of Garrett when everyone thinks they're together. He's like, "in my fraternity all us boys would've shut down that kind of disrespect immediately." I am sure that someone has pointed it out already, but "Cherry Pie" is the song that is playing while Garrett is hooking up with Zoe. Also, Hannah's bed-sheets were not ablaze, no waves were crashing over her grace, she could not roll the stone away. Maybe she needs someone to write "mine" on her upper thigh. :-) I love this episode because it shows Hannah and Garrett acting like a couple. They say they are "faking" but he is pulling her into his friend group, she is interacting with Jules, Logan, and even Tucker throughout the episode and we hear last episode that Garrett doesn't involve his typical hook ups with his chosen family because they don't matter to him. Two things that I loved- you guys missed what was written on the bathroom stall that Ally was in, it said "fuck Dean and his stupid awesome dick" and now I so wished that it said "dolphin dick". the other thing that I loved was in the morning when Hannah wakes up we see two very sweet things,; one, Garrett is sleeping on top of the covers and covered in spare blanket that doesn't match because he wanted her to feel safe. When she wakes up, there is no question that they did not sleep together and he is giving her space because he did not want to cross her boundaries (no matter how much he clearly wanted to kiss her after she sang :-)). Secondly, he folder her clothes and stacked them neatly with her phone sitting on top. In the book there is a point made of Garrett's constant tidiness, but here it looks almost as if he was giving her the option on a quick, quiet exit if she woke up and freaked out or regretted what she said to him. You get the feeling that he has made many such getaways, and has received a few as well, but Hannah leaving like that would hurt in a way he is not used to. I cannot wait for you two to see the next episode! So much foreshadowing in the episode!

season 1 came out all at once so we got to binge the whole thing in like less than 2 days!!! my guess is if they had done weekly releases then it would've premiered with the first 3 eps considering the 3rd ep ends with a much bigger cliffhanger than the 2nd

Garett can’t admit to himself that he likes Hannah cause in his mind, he’s mr. no girlfriends, only focused on going to the NHL! so he doesn’t sleep with her because he promised he’d take care of her if she drinks & wanted to keep his word!! 🥺 that’s what we learned about him in the 1st ep, he hooks up with girls but is brutally honest about being non committal, he feels a lot of pressure to follow his dad’s footsteps & a girlfriend would be a “distraction”

Really tied between binge watching this entire show rn and waiting for y'all cause I'm starting to get so invested!! But I will say for some reason, something about the way John Logan likes Hannah doesn't really sit right with me. He seems so great! But for him to assume he would fit better in Hannah's life than Garrett, when he knows basically nothing about her at all feels almost insulting and a little presumptuous. So the structure of the show is that each of the hockey boys will have their own seat. That’s how the books are laid out. So you are going to get a lot of each of the four main boys, Dean, John Tucker and John Logan. This season is obviously Garrett’s. I can’t wait for you to see all of them when they come out!!

Love this! God. The week wait between episodes is brutal haha. And I get Emily’s point about the parentals, but I think they feature more prominently in shows where the kids are still in high school. These guys are in college so the need for parents isn’t as prevalent. And even in TSITP the parental involvement in the show dropped off considerably once the kids were in college. I feel like John's crush on Hanna kind of proves Garret's point that guys want what popular guys have. Logan had noticed Hanna before and maybe thought she was cute, but he never talked to her or acted on it. Now that Garret is „seeing“ Hanna, John is much more interested. This makes me question John's crush. I didn't read the book, so perhaps there was more context, but that's what feeling I get from the show.

Garret turning down Hanna at the end is not only being respectful. Before Hanna decides to drink he asks her "do you trust me?" and she says "yes". He (and we as audience) suspect that she doesn't drink in public because someone took advantage of her/her friend before. So during the karaoke night he holds her drink, drives her home, collects her cloth and phone, turns her down, sleeps under the separate blanket because he was trusted to keep her safe while she is drunk. Sleeping with her (even if she wants to) would kind of break this trust. So he proved that Hanna can totally trust him. Which made it easy for her to open up to Garret (in the next episode) and ask for "one more favour":)
