Probably just overindulgent Americans lol unfortunately I have drank entire pots of coffee on my own well after midnight on many, many occasions. In New York there are some cafes that stay open until 2 or 3am serving coffee!

Just a couple of things to add here. Bonny, you should go back and watch yourself talking about White Horse in the Fearless breakdown video before Fearless TV. You give a convincing description of why this is an important and empowering song. So I am not sure that you really don't fathom it in the same way as Haunted. I think it is more that you don't listen to it that much, but when you do you realize it is actually a really good song. But I could be biased because every Taylor song hits me that way if I haven't listened in a while and forgotten. The other thing for me is the cello. I can only remember one other Taylor song in which cello is featured so prominently--The Moment I Knew. Her voice goes so well with cello and the cello emphasizes both songs sadness. So, White Horse is not my favorite either, but it is still really good. And I totally agree her acting is great in this video.

Thank you for the great analysis - as usual!! Re: the cafe', that used to be a cafe' in Nashville (I live there), but it closed in 2016. It was a really popular place to go.

A version of White Horse aired during the premiere of Grey's Anatomy. Which was Taylor's favorite show at the time. Search it on YouTube and you can see her reaction. It's the cutest thing, she's on her tour bus with her band and she's like "they played the whole song". Such a great moment. I also love how she did a vlog with so many country stars saying November 11th. Her old vlogs would be great content too, I'd love to see y'all react to them.

American coffee addict here. I can't drink it past 3 in the afternoon or it keeps me up all night. As for after dinner espresso or cappuccino that I can do. Weird right? I like this song but it's no where near the top of list. Maybe if I had been a teen when I first heard it I would have connected to it more. I can't say for sure because I was NOT a fairy tale girl. Dreaming of weddings and white knights and so on was not something I've ever done. I was a teenager in the 80's though and the thought of being stuck in my little hick Texas town married to some yokel was the stuff of nightmares not fantasy. lol

I wasn't a fairytale girl either (like I don't remember ever dreaming about wedding lol it's just really not it for me) but I always loved this song. And I remember not listening to sad songs but this one was really gut wrenching for me. What's even more surprising to me is that it was before I was in any relationship but it is exctly what happened later on and I remember when I was younger thinking "I can't imagine being like no, fuck off, when someone is literally begging for forgiveness and another chance at your feet and you're in love with them" lol

I've never been a coffee drinker. But I imagine, at least in the US, that people on night shift (working between 6:00 PM- 6:00 AM) might drink coffee during that period.

I lived in Australia for 6 months last year and it was so weird to have all the cafés close at 2pm for me! I'm from Sweden and here a common activity is to grab coffee with your friends at like 3-4 pm

I'm having a Grey's Anatomy rewatch and just watched the episode this song is featured HEAVILY in (season 5, episode 1). There's a clip of Taylor watching Grey's and being so surprised they used her song for such a long time.

I think that this video seems more mature in a sense because it’s about how she’s realized that her life isn’t a fairytale. Like her dreams were dashed when he broke her heart and it’s like this depressing weight of reality.

as an American your convo about coffee was so funny! I feel like the only time we're drinking coffee late at night is if we're staying up late to study or work. Otherwise, I feel like most people stop drinking coffee by like 4pm.

I loved the coffee talk!! I was born in Colombia, I can have coffee at any given time of day and I´ll be just fine, but usually we stop having coffee after 7PM unless we have a party or so, then time doesn´t really matter.
