This is a great tutorial! Thank you. Two ideas for future tutorials: 1) how do you do all this when sitting outside (I am betting it is the same and different all at once); and 2) strategies for color selection and planning how to mix and use your colors. For example, in another tutorial you used cerulean blue first and then added some paynes gray to the same puddle and used that in a different area You had a plan for sure…. Are there tips for developing this plan? Thanks!

Lot of valuable info. Are full tutorials delivered to patrons BEFORE condensed version is released on YouTube & Insta?

Appreciate you adding extra references to practice on. It was a suggestion I made a while back and you acted on it immediately, which shows how responsive you are to the needs and wishes of your students. I’m very much looking forward to water color tutorial next week. Hopefully there will something on color mixing.

Brilliant tutorial. I’ve never seen perspective so simple and comprehensively explained. I’m looking forward to the watercolour tutorial as I love to take photos when out hiking to sketch later. The sketching isn’t a problem but I am completely lost when trying so paint all the different foliage - trees, bushes, grasses, reeds etc.

Exactly what I like best right now. Thank you.

Barbara

Thanks for all those extra photos to work on!!

At some point I evidently used a pen that was NOT waterproof, thus the smudging. However, I had a lot of fun practicing and learning how to draw as well as paint. I'm not sure how to put up the photo, so if it doesn't show up, I'll have to do more research. Anyhow thanks for the great lesson!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I think I finally understand 3 point perspective :)

Your instruction is clear and understandable. Its one reason I subscribe to your channel. It is a unique skill you have to instruct clearly online.

Stephanie Bravo

I am so exited to learn from you Scottie!

Pat Theyerl

This is so interesting. I’m just listening right now but excited to start drawing!

Michael

The 3 perspective building has some kind of a terrace on the back half that is narrower than the rest of the building. This is a tough one with all the multiple angles!

Ben van Boom

First tutorial I watched, very interesting. Your way of teaching is very pleasant. I did not sketch along, just watched this one. Can't wait to start sketching!

Thank you so much Scottie! perspective is soooooohard for me, I am doing the basics, next dispeople, but I will like to go back to buildings . I sign for a year. I live in México and dollars are expensive but I will try to do as much as I can in one year! You make perspective understandable, you are a very good teacher! and Artist!

Arjun Mahansaria

it was very easy to follow and turned out nice but it was vibrant and was very faded

Scotty I sometimes have trouble finding the eye line in urban scenes. If I am sitting, I try looking straight ahead regardless of what the “horizon line” is, is that the right way to do it?

I have ADD. When I was young I had many teachers & tutors take their best shot at teaching me. They all meant well but I always struggled. You are the only person I can learn from easily. You have a gift. 💗

Sue Kawase

This one too did not disappoint. You are an excellent teacher of fundamentals. Thank you!

Maureen Randall

I have been sketching for years and your explanation of eyeline and how it affects perspective is the clearest that I have ever heard.
