LelouchFam

Oh lord the double drop is hereeeee

TChang23

Hoping for a your lie in April reaction someday 🙏🏻

Mo za

Legggooo

Rocketboy

That’s my favorite end of any anime ever. And the reason why I also loved the end of AOT, because it took inspiration on Code Geass!

Rocketboy

The contrast of Nunally crying her brother’s death while the whole world is celebrating it… damn

Rocketboy

This ending is what Eren hoped to achieve

Palapula

One of the few great ends to a good anime. Many shows will have higher highs or be more consistent and then fuck up the ending just enough to be remembered negatively or not remembered at all.

jibril habeel

Great watching throughout with you guys!

jibril habeel

You guys have to watch the movie now!!

aido

such a goated anime

Robert Lawson

Are you going to watch the movie?

RK

Rewatch in English some day

Joseph

ALL HAIL LELOUCH

Michael H

That ending brings the show from a 7 to a 9 for me. So good.

RK

Watch gundam 00

Matt C

Crazy good ending, makes both lelouch's and suzaku's arcs one of the greatest written. Happy suzaku got to be the Knight of Justice ... even after killing his Dad + all the other death's he indirectly caused.. soo well done

Adam

The crane was made by Nunnally and given to Lelouch early on in the show. We even see Lelouch with it several times over the course of the show. This was the conversation they had: Nunnally: Hey, they say, if you fold a thousand of these cranes, your wish’ll come true. So if there’s anything at all that you’ve been wishing for? Lelouch: No, not really. What about you? Do you wish for anything? Nunnally: I wish the world was a gentler place. Since Lelouch died, CC took it as a momento of Lelouch. It also shows that even if it didn’t happen as she intended, her wish did come true. And at the end Lelouch mentioned that Geass is sort of a wish.

sandust

The crazy thing is everytime he got someone killed with geas on accident he never would tell the people who found pit he killed them it was because he was losing controll of his powers the more he used it because everyone's hatred towards him was always apart of the plan in the end.

Conta Aleatória

I don't think It was ALWAYS the plan but to change the world and in the end It was the way he saw It happenin' lelouch was always changin his plan when something went wrong the thing is that we can't explain things to everyone, as we saw when suzaku "betrayed" him early this season, he can't say it because is just an excuse and euphy wouldn't be alive

John

watch the last movie that came out!! only one worth watching, theres also a new season which is in an alternate universe but its very mid so only watch if u really want to, also if you ever rewatch it, make sure to watch it in dubbed, it has some of the best dubbed and its easier to focus on the animation itself when theres too much information

Jacky

LL said that in the beginning “the only people should kill are those prepared to die themselves” and he he really did it. PEAK

sandust

If he wanted to fix things he would have told the truth about what happened to people when they found out about his geas and what he did on accident that they didn't learn of from him he would rather them not know and them hate him then fix the many problems created through some of his potentially fixable instances. He could have went down different paths that may have led to less people he cared about dieing if he didn't let his constantly changing missions drive him borderline insane.

sandust

At the end of the day he choose to let every person hate him everytime he messed up so his choice in the end was alway gonna be to absorb and die with everyone's hatred.

sandust

Yah your like me Ron I don't mes with mecha the best one for me was guran Lagann and even that was just a fever dream then the 2nd time you watch it it's not the same.

Bryce Jackson

Considering this was an anime only show with no source martial to draw from and it finished in such a spectacular way is a credit to the writers

Müfit Aslan

There is a picture drama of Code Geass called “The Miracolus Birthday” or “Kiseki no Birthday” I strongly suggest that you watch that and post your reaction if you can. It is also a very emotional one. The 4 movies came after this are good I guess. They are enjoyable but you need to keep in mind that they are set in an alternate universe. I have mixed feelings about Boukoku no Akito OVAs. They are set in the time gap between S1 and S2 and we can see Lelouch and Suzaku although their presence is very limited.

Ronald Bohne

The Pink Crane represents the first crane Nunnaly ever gave Lelouch, telling him that it represented her wish for a gentler world (something he succeeded in doing for her in the end). I HIGHLY recommend rewatching the Dub in your own time, it's very good and you can catch things you missed. Masterpiece of an ending. Still no better ending out there imo. Better anime, sure thats all subjective, I just think however that no other media has tied every loose end as masterfully as this. It was like spaghetti and they someone untangled it perfectly at the very last moment. Perfect.

Feignorance

Lelouch succeeded where Eren failed albeit he had Suzaku and C2's help. If Eren trusted Armin and Mikasa more he might have pulled it off.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the anime as a whole and the ending! It's my favorite anime of all time and my favorite ending. Was so fun to watch it with you guys. I'm glad you guys understood that Nunnally understood that Lelouch was lying. Throughout the show it's shown she can tell when people lie just by holding there hands. Her and Kallen understanding what was happening makes the ending all the more bitter sweet. I also love the ending due to the fates of Lelouch and Suzaku. Suzaku, who always wanted to die to atone for his sins is now forced to live on as Zero, the man he hated, helping shape the future and keep peace. Lelouch, who wanted to live with his sister in a kinder future he helped create, ensures the kinder world his sister wished for with his own death. All to atone for the sins they committed. And each is given their fate by the other. Some fun/not so fun tidbits. Xingke, the Chinese pilot who was sick, can be assumed dead after the Zero Requiem. During the epilogue, a picture of Villetta and Ohgi's wedding is shown in which he doesn't appear, while the empress and Xianglin (the women always shown with him) are present. Kallen's mom is no longer in prison and is living with Kallen. You can see her saying goodbye to Kallen during the epilogue.

Dimitron

This is the best ending to an anime and it is also what makes Lelouch my favorite anime protagonist along with Ichigo.

지원

Absolutely cinema peak!

Dwayne Townsend

There’s a new code geass out as well .. sort of a continuation.. new MC but I believe it still has leluch in it

Dwayne Townsend

Or Gundam Wing 🙏🏽.. hoping for atleast one true Gundam show to be watched here eventually

alex evans

To make it clear the first 3 movies are a resume of the 2 seasons with some minor changes in the main plot, still the ending remains the same. The 4th movie "Fukkatsu no Lelouch" is more important because the events happened 2 years after the ending.

nyxscripts

There is a movie after this, but the movie follows a 4-part movie series (its like an alternate timeline but 95% of what happens is the same) in which the first 3 is just a recap of the whole show and the 4th movie shows after the show, up to you guys to react though, its called Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection

Pizza_Mozzarella

The ending kinda set a benchmark standard on how to wrap up a show beautifully. When Aot ended, it got some crtiticism for basically having Eren "pull a Lelouch", as many saw it as kinda copying what Code Geass did. I don't really mind that, the only issue I have is that AoT is the first anime for many people so when they watch Code Geass after that people can see it coming after watching AoT. Code Geass was the first anime I watched properly (before that it was Dragonball, Pokemon and Naruto from kid's channel) so it always has a special place in my heart, and Lelouch is is imo hands down the best written anime character. I love shonen series like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece etc but the problem in those is the main characters always have to be purely good role models for younger kids, and I'm a sucker for "flawed" characters tip-toeing on the morally grey area like Lelouch, and shonen main characters often are not complex enough for me to be my favorite characters

To To

Didn’t Cc gave immortality to lellouch like VV did for Charles ?

Sherbet Lemon

The comment section really showed out for the finale :D Thanks to Ron & Michelle for showing this anime some love. It gets overshadowed by a lot of other popular stuff these days but its truly one of the greats.

Sora

i was like you when i finished code geass for the first time, but when i re-watched it again i understood a lot of things that i was questioning and i enjoyed the anime more than before!

Simic Trucido

Whos going to tell them? lol Ron you is right about the guy driving the cart at the end

Hertog

AoT's ending never hit me as hard as Code Geass ending, because they did it first.

Sherbet Lemon

You could... maybeee.. react to the official movie that follows this up. For June movie reaction. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection. And to answer your question, once Geass evolves to a certain point, you can take the witch's immortality. So Charles Geass was used and evolved enough to take V.V.s immortality. C.C. was trying to train up someone to take hers away. In exchange for immortality, you lose the powers of your Geass. But you can gift Geass to someone else and continue the cycle. It's explained across the entirety of the series rather than in one single episode so it's really hard to follow along with it.

지원

this is so sad

Uncancellable Reacts

AOT WIshes lol My #1 anime ever! 2 seasons 1st season goated 2nd season goated, and please re watch in DUB. this anime is very rewatchable this would be my 10th time watching and it gets me every time! and theres a theory that he actually obtained immortality like CC and hes the one driving the cart.

Palapula

not exactly, the film sequels are canonically an alternate universe. the original ending is still open ended.

Dylan Gardner

crazy enough every gundam is politically driven with betrayal, great characters, and action. Feel like you guys would like it.

Cow1751

Don't know if you know this but Xing ke shortly died after the Zero Requiem due to the mysterious disease

gamergod07

Thank you so much for reacting to this amazing show! I will try to give a brief, but clear explanation to Ron's question about the Geass and immortality. I do admit this show is complex and some ideas are still debated within the community. Here is my general understanding about Geass and Codes: The immortal people are called "Code Bearers". They have that red Code symbol somewhere on there body (Charles on his hands and C.C. on her forehead). They cannot be killed in the way that normal humans can. Charles was a Code Bearer after taking V.V.'s code. Lelouch trapped him in C's World and basically asked God/Collective Unconscious to not stop the flow of time and it erased Charles and Marianne as a result because they were trying to do exactly that. Normally, Code Bearers can't die as shown when C.C. has survived gunshots and explosions throughout the show. Geass users can die such as Mao and Lelouch did. The nun (Code Bearer) only was able to die because she stabbed C.C. (Geass user contractee), essentially forcing C.C. to take the nun's Code (otherwise C.C. would die as she was just a Geass user before she took the nun's Code). After C.C. took the nun's Code, the nun became mortal and offed herself. Marianne was a unique case because she was a Geass user that could transfer her consciousness to other bodies while her actual body died. The show did say that one day her mind might be able to return to her actual body, which is why Charles took her body and hid it away. If her mind ever returned to her body, she would still be able to be physically killed because she was just a Geass user. And if she couldn't transfer her mind to a nearby person like she did with Anya, then all of her would die (mind and body). Hopefully this helps!

gamergod07

Agreed. It is so great for its time and for being an anime original show (no manga adaptation).

Tyler Dub

im confused, is it a spolier and thats why theres no one else mentioning it? In the original ending to this show, you can look it up on youtube, LELOUCH is the one driving that cart. they later cut that part out in the tv shows. just surprised no one is mentioning it. I personally dont know if i would want to know that detail when i first watch the ending i guess.

KevUrb

A quick reminder that Guilford who is now blind ran out if the building equipped with an auto rifle

Jacky

It’s interesting how everyone becomes completely different from the beginning to the end. Lelouch wanted to create a world where only Nunnally would be happy, yet in the end, only Nunnally got hurt. Suzaku hated Zero, but ended up becoming Zero himself. And others changed completely as well.

TVTG

Great Great Great animeeee!!!! Perfect ending

Anime

What an anime honestly, I'm kind of jealous for first time watchers but still the ending always tears me up from witnessing such a masterpiece and why Lelouch is the Goat

Anime

react to the movie please

Feignorance

Attack on Titan is basically flesh mechs, Ron. Some of the Gundam series are really good, also they're all relatively short and concentrated series.

bia

bc that’s a fanmade scene…

Raul Iggynashow

One of the saddest things in real life is watching one family member seeing another family member pass away in front of them. That is why Nunnally crying for Lelouch was so sad. Plus notice the contrast. Just like when Suzaku was crying for the death of Euphy the Japanese were celebrating the birth of The United States of Japan at the same time. Just as Nunnally was crying for the death of her beloved brother Lulu Japan was simultaneously celebrating the birth of a new world free of Dictator Lelouch.

Raul Iggynashow

Did you guys think potentially seeing the Black Nights headed for a public execution that it would be a super dark ending where Lelouch turns full Kim Jung Un and rules the world as a global dictator? LOL Instead Lelouch is the one that gets executed in front of the world. Just ending the show with a public execution by itself is a powerful ending.

Raul Iggynashow

Many think that the more times you watch Code Geass the better it gets. So if you re-watch Code Geass please see it in English for this angle. Many fans who loved Naruto in English also loved watching Code Geass in English because most of the Code Geass English cast came from the Naruto English cast. Examples. 1. Sasuke English voice = Suzaku English voice. 2. Sakura = C2 3. Itachi = Jeramiah 4. Kakashi = Gino 5. Sasori = Lelouch 6. Pain = Schneizel 7. Gaara = Llyod 8. Kushina = Rakshata 9. Orochimaru = Todoh etc.

finaaaa

GOAT 😭

Kayso

Wow I never realized the VAs for Itachi/Jeremiah, Todoh/Orochimaru , Schniezel or Rakshata. I noticed that Tamaki (funny guy with red hair who was so loyal to Lelouche) is Kankuro VA. RIP Michael Lindsay Smith. Knew it was lot of Naruto VAs but never realized it was that many for Code Geass. Also idk if you watched Bleach dub but Kallen same voice as Squad 2 captain. Won’t say her name since they haven’t really seen her yet. And Rolo and Hanataro share same VA lol

Robin Berglund

C.C. has a strong connection to the world of C, the consciousness of everyone in the world. My take is that she is somehow able to talk with Lelouche, who now has become part of it as he died. But it could very well be that he is in there somewhere but isn't able to manifest fully like Marianne could, and that C.C. cannot get any meaningful reply back from Lelouche. I haven't looked up the other stuff that much, but it seems to me to mostly be the continuation that nobody asked for, to be able to continue selling merch and stuff. If you do watch it I would recommend watching it as a fanfiction and keep this in your mind as the true ending.

Christina H.

Man the death scene never fails to make me cry even after all these years 😭😭 mecha isn't everyones cup of tea. personally i do like some of them. my first mecha show was gundam seed/destiny... there are some great show in the gundam universe. my favourite one was iron blooded orphans

Michelle Lam

I agree, that ending really solidified the show

Michelle Lam

unfortunately we are dropping this show slot so that we can concentrate and elevate the quality of our other shows!

Michelle Lam

omg thank you for this reminder. wow this hits harder now

CallMeBibz

I don’t think that’s the case. There’s other films and such but this is the official ending p sure

CallMeBibz

This was my favorite for a long time before I watched one piece

Alex Palmer

My favourite episode of anime ever

RK

Agreed, prayers up

RK

He took it from charles

Mitchell Robert

Lelouch was a martyr who took on the title of villain. The public will never see him as a martyr but as a tyrant.

🌺Marlen Mendez🌺

This series will and always will be my number 3 anime of all time only getting beat by one piece and bleach it’s so good every time I watch the series which is like no joke about 15 times now I always get hyped again All Hail Lelouch

tris273

11/10 perfect ending. Only ending as good written as Aot if not better.

Kayso

This whole time in the story we see Lelouche as Zero and it’s crazy how Suzaku is now Zero, the same person he hated. Then all the people (who never knew Lelouche was Zero) still sees Zero as the same person killing Lelouche. Lots of symbolism. It’s like in a way he killed himself but didn’t at the same time. I was in denial about Suzaku’s death lol. Great ending. Was curious on y’all’s thoughts on S1 vs S2 which one y’all liked better. I personally liked season 1 as a whole more. Idk what the pink paper crane means, I’m sure someone already explained in comments. I’ve seen this and still haven’t fully grasped certain stuff and tbh can be confusing, it is a complex show. This the type of show you gotta rewatch definitely in dub it’ll be lot easier to digest all the info. Respect to Ron’s opinion about mecha anime. I’m indifferent to it I’ll watch if it has good story but it isn’t my favorite like I’m not the biggest fan of the mecha fights in Code Geass. I originally dropped season 1 mid way but rewatched with you guys. Recommendations after Code Geass…Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. They are mecha which ik Ron isn’t too crazy about but they have good stories so who knows you might like them. Was a fun journey guys

Mo za

I 100% agree

Saith D. Uchiha

Yeah Crunchyroll servers being shitty is not new just wait until your caught up to One Piece you might have to wait 24 hours to even watch the new episode

hazamé

there is a movie that the last part of the show

Alex Matias

It’s sad that Lelouch died knowing his legacy would be the world hating him. The world would never know that he united them.

rtkns

And another year where I watch this anime at least once, this time with you guys. Incredible journey, magnificent anime. All hail Lelouch

Nathan

i read about lelouches death by accident when i was only on episode 4 when someone compared his death on a halo video, and it was still one of the greatest endings

FoxfireEspresso

If you wanted to try a Gundam series i'd try Mobile Suit Gundam 00. It has some similar themes to code geass and is one of the standalone series from the Gundam timeline so you dont have to worry about watching anything out of order. It's just a solid standalone story and its own interpretation of Gundam that has themes I think you'd like since you liked this. For people unsure about mech anime, second to code geass, 00 would be my starter recommendation for people testing the waters.

Wulfric

I second this. Mobile Suit Gundam 00 is my favourite of the series. Its the only one I keep going back to re-watch.

Oak

I only got around to watching these reactions now. I couldn't help but binge watch them over the week. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it! With so many shows either having slower pacing or not having a proper anime ending, it's nice to find shows that are more to the point and have an impactful ending. I think this is the only anime that I've watched three times from start to end, this being the third time, and it's still as good as I remembered.

Love Yourself

Double 00 is my fave coz of Setsuna. I like the connection u made there

Love Yourself

As long as we know tho. All hail lelouch vi Britannia!

Love Yourself

Same!! It’s so easy to rewatch!! Lelouch is one of my top MC

Love Yourself

Lulu’s death will never not make me cry

Love Yourself

Sooo good every time. We just get a confirmation how good it is when we rewatch

Twix

Aot ending was ass

tris273

Ok thats your opinion. Your pretty unpopular with that. Might be you didn't get the ending.

Raza Naqvi (Sid)

Of All Anime you have seen. Will you guys ever do a tier rank video. That be cool

Alex Palmer

I know AOT had been out a while but I wish I hadn’t read this comment
