Can we get Classroom of the elite? Like I am really surprised that we haven’t gotten classroom of the elite from them yet! The mental warfare is so good and it’s a staple for every reactor. man honestly nothing to pick from except like 2 or 3 animes maybe. I have seen most of these and honestly I just don't want to see reaction from Wes and Steph to any of those. Like Jojo is one of my favourites mangas but I honestly do not want to watch their reaction to that. Monogatari series or Monster would so great! From poll maybe Takopi and Made in Abyss and I willing to watch Orb to watch their reaction everything else is just sad :(

Saga of Tanya the Evil and bookworm are both great. I love MHA and Naruto, but they are both really quite long, especially Naruto at 700+ episodes

Naruto ? 720 episodes x 7 days / 365 days = 13 years. If they want to finish this in a year they'd need to react to 13 episodes per day. 5 hours of reactions every week. Even then this anime slot will be blocked for a whole year. Even then I don't think the people that watched Naruto would want to stick along for the whole long journey, but I don't know, just a reminder to everyone, it's your vote anyways.

I really love naruto but I dont think they should start another long shonen until they've at least finished HxH. I dont think it would be a good idea to have 2 long shonens going at the same time. Also, even without the fillers, naruto is still about triple the length of HxH. So it would take forever to finish even if they do multiple episodes a week. I think it would be much better to stick to the other shorter animes in this poll and have a separate poll where naruto and mha could be voted on to replace HxH

I see absolutely nothing wrong with Naruto getting chosen. I've watched every episode and would happily watch them again. If Wes and Steph make something an option, I can only assume they're fine with it being chosen. If they're not, they can easily choose not to do the series even if it wins. If you really want to convince people to vote one way, and this isn't directed at anyone in particular, you should argue for a series, not against a series.

If they're reading these comments, I really hope they read the light novels in their free time. I re-read the whole thing so many times, even read a bit of the early web version, it's such a well written story. I love the characters, they feel real. The world building is on another level. I got so immersed, the anime didn't do it justice sadly. They're swapping studios for the new season and it looks better but I hope they redo the first ones.

Also hate to say it but Naruto might actually be the pick here compared to the rest other than neon genesis/your lie in april. Probably do 2 episodes every few days and skip all the fillers otherwise it will take years to get through.

I've seen like three eps of Jojo (couldn't get into it and found it boring, probs also since the art style for me was meh) but yeah never seen any of the others. Saiki K is in my list to watch but none of the others are, i've only heard of a handful of these anime names but i've only been watching anime since 2023 or start of 2024 so still new.

Hey, don't worry guys. If you skip all the intro, outro, recap, preview and (tons of tons of) repeated scenes, each episode of Naruto only has like 10 minutes of original content. Then you watch it in 2x speed (which would still feel normal given the pace and content density), you only need 5 minutes each episode. They can easily do 5 episodes every week, no problem. /s

Don't panic, voting is just one of the criteria they use to select anime. In the last vote, MHA beat Cyberpunk, but we got Cyberpunk. I don't think they'll choose MHA or Naruto if they're slightly ahead.

Steins;Gate is your favorite anime but it’s something that is overlooked and almost never voted in other channels due to it being older or not being a shounen hype one. There are other anime in the list with the same level of writing as Steins;Gate: - Tapoki’s Original Sin (2025) - Orb: Movement of the Earth (2025) - Neon Genesis Evangelion (older, but a cult classic)

More episodes doesn't mean good. For Naruto and One Piece for example, they kept releasing filler episodes and found ways to make each episode shorter by adding more recap at the beginning of each episodes, all of that because it brings money at that specific time slot on television. I repeat, more episodes doesn't mean good, and I say that as someone who watched every episode of One Piece multiple times in my life. Long running shonen are not interesting to react to if they only watch 1-2 episode a week.

I don't have anything against Naruto and Boku no Hero but... dear patreons, that would take too much time to finish. It would monopolize the content of the channel for years. I recommend to have just 1 long running series at the time so they can react to more shows and other animes have a chance. At the end of the day Wes & Steph have the last word in this, but this is my recommendation. And seeing the other comments I'm not the only one that thinks like this. Also this is not a comment with the intention of starting fights or something, so please don't fight over this. Is just an opinion.

It's just that these anime series will block slots for years (for which we pay a subscription fee). We could have watched dozens of wonderful anime series in the time spent on these. And anyway, I may be wrong, but I think Wes has already seen Naruto

Sad Monogatari series didn't make it on the poll again! 86 & Made in Abyss - for the characters and themes 100 Girlfriends - a silly, creative show and it's not super long. I would suggest Bleach over Naruto since that one is wrapping soon (final season in 2026) so you would be able to ride a bit of the last remaining Bleach hype on Youtube too.

Boku no Hero Academia + the Spin-off have 174 chapters in total with both having another season in the works. Naruto have 432 chapters without filler and his sequel Boruto have 110 chapters. That's A LOT guys...

Agree with your assessment. I like Jojo but it's not really a super great show to react to in my opinion, and especially not for this channel, whose strength is character / thematic analysis. Voters really should consider the reactor's style too, and not just vote for your favorite show.

I think the 100 or even 200 people that vote for it will watch it, then it'll probably drop off, and the people that didn't vote for it will never watch it. It's just divisive. In the time it'll take to get over the first part of it, (220 episodes), we would've been able to go through 18 different 12 episode shows. or 9 different 24 episode shows. It's just that big of a commitment. Personally, I binged naruto when I first got into anime, it was summer break, 20 episodes per day, and between then and now I've seen enough shounen that I really don't want to sit through a fight that lasts 50 episodes. Just.. no.

It's a popular series to hate on and has been for several years now. With the upcoming final season, I imagine it would be good for their channel, and I have no doubt Wes and Steph would enjoy the series. But as much as I don't agree with the complaints on length, MHA does have almost 160 episodes right now. In the time it takes them to finish it, they could watch a dozen 12 episode long anime series. Whether that's a valid criticism depends on your personal opinion though.

You should try the others then, regardless of the poll. Most of them are good shows worth watching. Also, don't just go for those on the list which you have already heard of. Try those you haven't heard of. There is a whole world outside of just "mainstream animes".

Nothing against LOTM, but it should be noted that that is arguably a more long-term commitment than Naruto. They've already laid out plans for the next decade for that series. The seasons are also longer than typical anime seasons in terms of both episode length and number of episodes. Not to say that should disqualify it, but it should be said either way.

Bro, as a Monogatari enjoyer (one of my favorite animes, bought the LNs, big NisIOIsiN and studio Shaft fan).. I think it might too much problematic media for people that are still relatively new to anime. Gotta watch more harem filth and trash anime to properly prepare yourself for it. It would be super funny and interesting to see them react to it though. It's amazing character writing, lots of stuff to analyze, and they'd be so confused early on I *really* want to see that. Eventually they might react to it though, as have most anime reaction channels done.

That’s not the same thing lol. Naruto is a finished anime. The next full season of LOTM won’t even be released till 2027 and this season only has 13 episodes total + 2 owas, Besides the 10 year plan is for the production expectations and there are several gaps in between years which they will obviously be watching other shows. The release date gap from S2 to S3 is another 3 years.

Looking back at the nominees, Arcane was actually one of the top placing nominees at 5th from the top with 38 likes, while Naruto along with 4 other shows were tied for the last positions. So they must be intentionally excluding non anime series. Perhaps Invincible only made to the previous poll by mistake. The Summer Hikaru Died was tied for the last positions as well but just didn't make it. Interestingly while just about every other nominee that made it was being spammed by lots of people despite the rules going by most likes on a single comment, only 3 people nominated Naruto, that's some respectable restraint. Also people, you can vote multiple entries, so even if a show you'd want reactions for is near the bottom of the poll you might just well vote for it. One of the shows from the previous poll they eventually started watching was placed 5th from last. Also also 1. I personally think W&S reactions will be great as long as they enjoy what they're reacting to, even if it's something that'll be half a decades long commitment to finish and filled to the brim with soul agonizing filler. If they have a good time with, so will I. 2. It’s literally this: I love the Big 3, and they’re popular for a reason. But what people always forget is how much filler, recap, and stretched episodes there are - it’s not just peak all the time. They’re great in essence, but you have to watch a lot of nonsense to get to the good stuff. Sometimes it feels like people have to think it’s “the best” because they spent so much time watching it, and that’s the only way to justify it. The One Piece anime remake gets cut down so much that, from what I’ve heard, it has about 2/3 fewer episodes than the original. That alone shows what’s wrong with the pacing in those big anime.

Because as great as those big series might be as a whole, many people have no interest in rewatching the entirety of it and personally I dont think the average 12 or 24 consecutive episodes of these long running shows would be even nearly as interesting as seeing most of the shorter running shows with an equal amount of episodes. Right, whatever the anime for however long, I think they should focus on watching on they find enjoyable as they either seem to be getting burnout or becoming less immersed in the shows they’re watching. I agree that the episode count shouldn’t really play that big of a role. If I have a good long anime, why shouldn’t I watch it? I think HxH is a perfect example. But at some point, it gets to be too much - you can’t keep good quality up for years and years while releasing an episode every week. For example, the One Piece remake is cutting about 2/3 of the episodes (from what I’ve heard so far), which literally shows how bad the pacing is in the original.

I even agree with that. You can’t go wrong with something like Erased or Takopi, even if you don’t like them, because they’re so short anyway. But at the same time, there’s a reason why almost all big reaction channels watch stuff like Naruto, One Piece, MHA, etc. - either the reactors love the show, or the viewers love the show, probably both at some point. So saying they’re not good for reactions is objectively wrong. That said, I agree that really long shows probably wouldn’t fit this channel - maybe MHA, which is much shorter in comparison or JoJo since its super unique.

MHA has great animation and a cool hero plot concept, so I see why it’s popular, it made me watch it too. Shigaraki is honestly the main reason seasons 1 and 2 were interesting (I dropped it in season 3), but having one main villain drag on for so long hurts the story. If the hero always wins with no real risk and the villain always escapes, there’s not much payoff. The characters barely develop, and their personalities stay stuck as the nice guy, the nice girl, the angry guy, the pervy guy, the dumb guy, etc. I do think Naruto is better written in this regard of characters and villians, but it’s too long for the channel. The main character in MHA just gets stronger over time because of his quirk, not because he trains hard or gets smarter in battle. Other shonen at least let you see villains lose and characters grow and change, which makes the reactions feel different over time. With MHA, it mostly stays the same, and you just get more backstory for each character that doesn’t really change your perspective of them. I do get how it could work for the channel since it’s popular and could bring in new viewers, especially since they already have content in a similar genre. I just think the channel should prioritize other peak shows in their respective genre, like JJK, for example, is peak shonen, over long-form feel-good ones like MHA .

my bad, worded it wrong i can think of atleast 20 insanely good scenes for reaction right now for naruto, there is a lot of reaction material because there IS a lot of material. My point was that, per episode, the average number of notable like reaction material moments is kind of low compared to other shows, even without filler. Since these types of shows are written weekly, there’s not much depth in foreshadowing or planning. It’s mostly things just happening, which can be very enjoyable, but I don’t think it’s worth a weekly upload on a reaction channel.

So putting that as an example and saying things like long anime doesn't mean good while showing those two as an example is dumb. Because those animes are good. If you had given another example I would have maybe agreed. But I don't give a damn about fillers or recaps. They can be skipped if you don't wanna see them. Just saying. Most short anime are superior—better pacing, the story gets to the point without distractions, you get what you want, and there's no filler, no pointless fights, no overused gags, and no bloated cast of 100+ undeveloped, unnecessary characters. The only reason people tend to prefer longer shows (especially battle shonen) is because those are the ones we grew up with. And while only a few moments in those shows are truly great, they hit hard because they’re the payoff after a long journey. As a fan of shonen myself, I also want them to react to One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, and Hunter x Hunter and many others but not all at once. Honestly, sitting through 24 or fewer episodes of a show you find uninteresting is way less painful than slogging through 100+ episodes of something others don’t care about. I don’t mind MHA. In fact, I loved the first two seasons, but after that, it just became torturous.

I do get your point , there are a lot of bad short anime out there. But from a reaction standpoint, those shows are never going to get recommended or nominated anyway.When it comes to the ratio of good short anime to good long anime, I still stand by my opinion: there are far more good short anime that get overshadowed by long-running ones and never receive the recognition they deserve. I don't think Orb has won a poll for any reaction channel, but there are some that have watch it on their own, and it's one of the best decision they made. Made in Abyss have been on every list since the beginning, got very close to the top every time, but never won a single poll. It's understandable, since Made in Abyss is never as "mainstream" as shows like My Hero Academia or Arcane (The fact that MiA is even getting close to MHA is already very impressive, and shows how much MiA appeals to this specific community). However, I cannot stress enough how great of a show it is, and how fitting it is for W&S's channel. "Parents reacting to Made in Abyss" would go WILD on Youtube. The guy is a Penn-educated psychotherapist as well as being US Army veteran, and if you want a detail analysis on TOS (his reactions are usually an hour long, but they are very good), then his channel would be a good one to watch for this show.

As much as i love naruto 500 episodes of flashbacks will destroy my soul, i would rather have MHA win, and i got through the first season of 86 and to be honest could never really get myself to finish it, maybe it was cause of the wait time between seasons or i didnt really care for it, but hopefully W&S enjoy it. I don't know if it is just me, but I feel like this polling system may be flawed. I sense that people are voting against other shows rather then voting for shows they like or shows W&S may like, due to the length of some animes because if it was between 2 animes they've never seen they would vote for the one that's shorter, as then they wont have to wait for 2 years for the anime to finish and so tipping the scales in favour of the shorter show. in my personal opinon, I feel like there should be different polls based on length of shows, for example a poll for animes with over or around 150 episodes this could be the slot that is used after Hunter X Hunter is finished. they have around 8 slots a week for anime, with 2 of those slots being 2 episode drops, so maybe it could look something like this. slot 1 [2 episode drops] - Very Long Poll [Around or Over 150 Eps] [1.5 Years+] slot 2 [2 episode drops] - Long Poll [Over 50 Eps] [0.5 to 1.5 years] slot 3-8 [1 epsidoe drops] - Normal Poll [Anything Under 50 Eps] [under 6 Months] Tell me if you think my opinion is completely wrong or if you have some changes, again this is all my opinon im not saying W&S need to do this or anything just food for thought.

TOS and Orb are anime that have complexity and depth in writing or storytelling and generally speaking, shows that make you think are never mainstream popular. They are going to be missing out of incredible anime but of course, it’s a business and the channel comes first. At least they got to watch Steins;Gate though.

It’s about the people - everyone has different opinions. You could do a lot of different things with the polls, but I don’t think it would change anything in a meaningful way, besides maybe adding a bit more diversity. In the end, people would just argue about other things besides show length. I don’t think we need a poll for really long shows, for example. There’s no need to force a long show into the collection unless it’s actually good. With your system, there would always be a long and a very long show in the schedule, even if they weren’t good enough to justify. Of course, they should still be careful not to have too many long shows running at the same time, but I think that’s up to W&S to keep an eye on.

I'm so happy to see both 86 and Horimiya winning! I know alot of MHA fans are saying that 86 is getting voted to spite MHA but I think for the majority that's not the case. Lots of people love the show! Also I don't think MHA fans should be disappointed because it looks like they may be adding a few shows to the watchlist so in the best case scenario we would be getting both 86 and MHA and then maybe Horimiya and Takopi who knows!

Exactly, also the list is in order of the votes each anime got when they asked for suggestions. 86 had 44 votes and was second after Horimiya (46) and MHA had 43 votes, so 86 was already slightly ahead of MHA then. People didnt know which anime would win in the suggestions post because almost no one takes the effort to scroll through the whole list of comments, so there is no reason why people would have voted for specifically 86 just to prevent MHA.

Also remember that these polls aren't supposed to be "binding". You'll notice that they use phrases like "help us pick", and never promised that they will always watch the winning shows. (Being able to choose what show they watch was never listed as a perk of their patreon membership.) Of course, they will still respect the poll results as much as possible, and so far they've always watched the show in first place. But they can and probably will always take into account show lengths when designing their schedule. Regarding long shows particularly, one suggestion I have is to break them into "seasons" or "chapters", and then take a break every now and then to watch another show with that slot. No one said they must always watch a show non-stop from start to finish. I think that would be a very good compromise to keep everyone happy, relatively speaking.

I do have a feeling that 86 will win, and while I won't watch any reactions to it, I won't be upset to see it win. Also to those speculating that 86 is winning solely because of spite votes, just no. Are there people voting for whatever has a chance of beating 86? Yeah, of course there are. There are some seriously terminally online people that have nothing better to do than refresh the results every five minutes. But when it comes right down to it, 86 is a beloved series. I've never heard anything less that complimentary about it.

Oh, it's nothing bad. I've just never watched 86. I started it when it was airing but couldn't get into it at the time. I don't watch shows for the first time through reactions. The pauses and theories distract me from paying attention on a first watch, so I only watch reactions for series/seasons that I've already watched.

Even if I was, my favorite reactor is currently making her way through the series. I'm happy for the fans of the series regardless. On my end, I'll probably just cancel my sub and wait until they start another series that I'm interested in. Right now, Hunter x Hunter is the only series they're reacting to that I'm all that interested in.

I agree that Naruto is actually something you could call too long (it’s not even winning right now, so I don’t know why you’re worrying about it), but MHA is totally fine. There are a lot of shows that took about a year to finish : FMA, JJK, Konosuba, MT, DS, Vinland, Re:Zero, Steins;Gate and some even around two years, like AoT or Haikyuu - HxH somewhere inbetween. If they do double drops for MHA, it’s totally in line with other shows on the channel. Also, those are just 2 shows out of at least 5 or 6 slots, sometimes more.

Naruto and MHA has worked well in other channels, so it could work well for this channel regardless of the length. For example, Studio Gek is watching MHA, One Piece, and Naruto, and their Patreon posts for these shows usually receives hundreds of likes and comments. They might start experiencing shounen fatigue from watching too many battle shounen (especially for older viewers such as myself), and it might start showing in their reactions, but we will see.

I mess up time zones all the time myself to the point I'm always paranoid if I'm right. Also starting to feel 50/50 on whether this was actually supposed to the end of the poll or not though. If this was supposed to be the end, it ran for a fairly short amount of time and if it's supposed to be next week, then that's quite long instead and it's a fact they did mess up either the description or the timer, and they still haven't manually ended the poll, if you can even do that on Patreon. But we'll see.

Generally speaking, shows with complexity and depth in writing are the least popular, and they are focus on growing their channel. You might consider supporting channels that are willing to give shows such as Orb a chance. Tony from his "DrumRollTony Reacts" channel does analysis on anime music (on top of being the Asst. Director for the Seattle Seahawks Drumline), and he isn't afraid to drop shows that won polls. His comments are funny sometimes, and he'll say things like "Why am I watching this kids show?". He finished Orb a few months ago, and it's one of his favorites. The React Pack have started picking their own shows as they were getting burn out from all the rom-coms, isekai, and high school anime people kept voting in polls. They recently finished watching Takopi's Original Sin, and it's one of more powerful anime they've seen in a long time. They have "Lord of the Mysteries" on their rader.

Made in Abyss is no where near a "mainstream" anime. When it first came out, it almost completely flew under the radar due to being on a fringe streaming platform. However... HOWEVER, Made in Abyss had been near the top of the poll for the last 3-4 polls, which just shows how much W&S's community is disporportionately the target audience of Made in Abyss. I'm certain MiA is losing the vote again this time to the more mainstream shows, but I STRONGLY recommend W&S to this show a go. On the side note: I like MHA, but can we do it after HxH? I don't think two time-consuming Shonen at the same time is good for this channel.

I mean to be fair... it's "aight" in my opinion. I started watching since episode 1 airs weekly and the only reason why I keep watching it is just because I'm already too deep to stop. Endeavor's story is the only thing I could say "I admired" from the anime right now (it's also probably because I dont enjoy shonen as much as I used to)

That's great and all, but the obvious answer is to just not watch it. Support what you like with your views, your likes, and your comments, and don't do that for the stuff you don't like. I don't watch any of their K-Drama stuff, but I'm not about to complain about those videos when there's a subset of the viewerbase that enjoys them. Forcing them to fit your exact wants will only make them bitter toward the things you like. Of course, you could always unsubscribe from W&S in the meantime. If you don't want to see MHA show up entirely, that seems like the only way, and then you could resubscribe later when you want to binge watch the rest of HxH! It's a win-win, right? 🙂

However, I will give you a direct answer, if that is what you want. No, there is no way to only see one type of content from a creator, especially when they have not differentiated the content by tier of membership. I suspect you knew this from your original post, and wanted to complain without being obvious. But that is simply conjecture on my part, and if wrong, please correct me.

Last time it was literally Code Geass vs Apothecary Diaries. This time the votes are way more split up since there’s no clear favorite(s), which is why no single entry has that many votes even though the overall vote count is higher. It feels more like it’s MHA against the people who hate MHA and are fine with siding with whichever show is beating it. I saw way more comments about people being mad that MHA even got second place than comments about people being happy that 86 won.
