i retired in May after working for the same company for 33 years, now that felt strange knowing i would never return, never do the same drive to work, even knowing i would never use the same toilet

Time for the missing pieces!

So yes, while there is another season it's not a "continuation" per se. The original run went through the entire manga but missed quite a few stories and chapters. The first season was so popular the "second season" was greenlit which goes through more of the chapters the original adaptation skipped. So the timeline in the second season starts a bit before Hori and Miyamura get together and ends on the graduation again (which was the end of the manga) but with a twist. So basically the second season is "more of the same". For better (because the story is amazing) or worse (because we don't get stories from after they graduate).

Second season was def worth watching though. I felt the stories and skits were even funnier (miyamura’s period iykyk) and more heartfelt than this season!

"Season 2" is not a continuation from season 1 but all the scenes that were cut from the manga. Don't let that put you off though! It is still a worthwhile watch, also that's why its called missing pieces.

100% agreed. Horimiya is one of my favorite series and "more of the same" is a compliment. You can't help but want more though. I would have loved more chapters showing the gang after high school.

Horimiya is one of my favorite series, and is one of the biggest influences in my life. I relate to Miyamura, in middle school I was depressed, had no friends, and I was ashamed for liking the things I did. In a particularly dark period of my life, I had felt tired of life and wondered what the purpose of my life was, having nothing to look forward to. Horimiya motivated me to put myself out there, and I made my best friends who I still hang out with half a decade later. It was slow and painful, but I’m pretty satisfied with my life now. Thanks for reacting to such an important piece of my life!

Season 2 is a little different, it's got expanded scenes and cut scenes that could (should?) have been in season 1. It is TOTALLY worth watching though, lots of great stuff. It feels a little different in order/pacing, but there's some amazing moments, and the bookend to season 2 is wonderful.

Can't wait for the reaction to Horimiya: the Missing Pieces!! Horimiya is one of my favorite shows and really close to me. Missing pieces is exactly what the title suggests, bits of their life that the main series skipped, all of it in a fun little bundle and so much fun!! Hope ya'll enjoy it just as much!!

What an amazing story! I am so happy to hear what a positive impact it had on you!! ❤️

Congratulations on 33 years!!! That is incredible! And I can only imagine! I felt that way after only 3 and 4 years at my companies

Ah so refreshing. Horimiya was one of my favorite comfort mangas to read back in the day when my parents would drop me off at my grandma's for the summer. It's so nice seeing it animated, even if the pacing was a bit too fast. ☺️
