The Anime Dude

I also dislike the meatball guy that hates Bakugo, how dare he disrespect my GOAT.

Charcul

Hi, just wanted to say that you guys are easily the best reaction channel out there. Also, sorry that it is not relevant to this video, but I was wondering if you had any plans to watch Re Zero season 4- it just started airing today.

Derpin

If I lived in this world my favorite hero would be Gang Orca. 10/10 for character design and name.

SB

I don’t agree with Seiji’s actions (Meatball guy) during the test but I feel it’s a little harsh to say he’s a villain just because his quirk is disgusting you know. He got to work with what he was born with 😭

Molly

yay! i've been waiting for you to get to my favourite boy aoyama's moment

Renden

Ok yeah but like MAYBE he should go work at a Italian restaurant instead of trying to be a hero??? His talents would be much appreciated there

MikiMiki

remember episode 18 for next seasons

PROTOTYPE

Off top[c but since both the seasons of JJK and hell's paradise are done , you guys should start a new anime like Classroom Of The Elite since the 4th season is airing right now or Your Lie In April its also a very good romance anime

Carbon

I would argue that his quirk is pretty great for suppressing villains tho. Also, it's a great way to restrain them while being handed to the police.

I honestly really love all the details they add in the rescue part of the exam. Deku realizing how much he failed to comfort the victims when arriving compared to All Might is a moment I always love. Also, Gang Orca hamming it up at the end cracks me up 😂

Gods I hate when people do this, but in this one special case, I do think it's an interesting and important commentary done by the author. So, I think we've all figured out this show is the author's criticisms with how the Japanese government and culture are run and stuff, right? Aoyama is extremely queercoded in the Japanese lens. There's no confirmation of his being queer, and while I hate when foreign fans apply western queer stereotypes to Asian behaviors, I think he is intentionally a stereotype for being gay as a tiny commentary on how LGBT+ is treated in Japan (at least at the time of the Manga being written. Things are getting better now.) I am feeling too lazy to go into ALL the small cultural red flags for this so just Google "Hard Gay Japanese wrestler" and maybe research other ways Japan uses the queer community as a gag, also research the current state of queerness in Japan to see how Aoyama acts exactly like the "big sister" types (effeminate gay men, often who run safe spaces for LGBT+) but when he says "why am I not like everyone else?" That struck a chord with the LGBT+ community, intended or not, because there's a saying in Japan "the nail that sticks out gets hammered down." Different isn't good or special or applauded the way we see in America (when someone uses their special traits to do something impactful) being flamboyant and quirky, effeminate, flimsy/weak in terms of physicality or health, these are all things that will get someone ostracized. Aoyama, we can plainly see, stands out a LOT, and even we think he's a weird character, which makes his moment in this ep so touching for anyone atypical. I just think what a special moment to put in the show for him, but also in the Japanese lens, this is a statement. A statement that the queer ones can be heroes to someone too. Gender, sexual orientation, appearances, backgrounds.. the author wants us to understand that we all affect people in some small way and so we should focus on trying to impact them positively. Things like homophobia, racism, nationalism don't come from nowhere. It comes from ignorance and fear, and even in the face of being treated unfairly, we should all try to be exactly how they're teaching these heroes. U.A is being villainized rn. The hero system is being criticized rn, but they are learning "that is a separate issue from the moment rn. Rn, you are affecting someone, so be their reason to change their opinion. You won't always be able to, but you can be one example. In this case with Aoyama, I felt personally that the message is "Even someone is weak, queer/odd, even if you think they're useless, they can be someone's reason." His self sacrifice in that moment helped his friends and unified them. That is what makes this show so good and such a powerful ethos for people from varying backgrounds. (Despite all I said though, I really do disagree with the way fujoshi or LGBT+ ppl try to gay up everything canonically because they don't understand that gender norms are different in other countries. Sure, live in your headcanon that Bakugo and Kirishima are a thing, but I disagree with forcing it onto other people, arguing about it, stuff like that. Please don't take what I'm arguing about Aoyama as me saying for sure that he is queer-coded. It hasn't been confirmed. He just exemplifies not only all the Japanese stereotypes, but his ethos fits for the queer struggle in Japan 😅 his same moment was also powerful for neurodivergents or anyone who felt alien to their own tribe like mixed race folk, black Japanese, people born sickly or with BD)

I know this detail is a minor point in this episode, but man, I really like how the author decided to portray the love or relationship between Deku and Uraraka, specially how Uraraka feels it and acts according to it. Like, she is super mature to, at her age say "Hey, I know I'm crazy in love for this guy, but right now I have to concentrate on work hard and get good results to help my parents"...Idk, I like her a lot for that

Wes And Steph

We are going to watch it for sure!! And thank you!

CallMeSignal

Also, just an itsy bitsy funny detail, if you pay attention for both episodes, you'll notice that Joke started sitting like 5 seats away from Aizawa, but by the end of this one, she's now only 1 or 2 seats away lol. I have a feeling she really does like him, but she's masking it as a joke.

Flip DaScript

exactly, imagine if they allowed him to reprimand All for One. There's no way for League of Villain to save all for one.
