Since the Japanese at the end wasn’t translated the novels with Ikumi Akage are called ‘Rascal does not dream of a Nightingale’

Fun fact: The TV show/movie the girls were watching when Sakuta got home was starring one of the other Sweet Bullet girls.

The easiest example for "someone's happiness may be someone else's misfortune" would be what the show was probably alluding to, with the situation where Sakuta was supposed to die ("supposed to," as in, that's what would have happened naturally if no one had stepped in to intervene and change it) in order for Shoko to live. Although, Idk if I'd call that happiness for Shoko, since obviously Sakuta had become her first love that she never got to confess to, and it grieved her enough to want to save Sakuta even if it meant dying. Really, I can't imagine the turmoil it would have caused her to receive the heart transplant and get so excited to tell Sakuta, only to hear from Mai that his heart was why she was alive. Anyway, digression aside. Even then, we know that she manages to survive thanks to Mai's movie motivating many more people to become donors, but obviously that still means that someone had to die in order for her to receive the heart transplant that she needed. One person's happiness doesn't always mean coming at the expense of someone else, but it for sure sometimes does and in a way that's unavoidable.

Akagi reminds me a lot of Shirou Emiya and the themes of her arc are very similar to F/sn.
