Kindyh Bordat

I'll say that for the second time but it feel nice to have reactors actually interact and mentions comments in their video.

Zen

Dang, thanks a lot for the early upload! Today I don't have to stay awake past 1:00 haha

Temojikato

A tip for pronunciation: just LISTEN. You don't speak Japanese, but if you know what name you're looking for it's really easy to pick out from a sentence. I notice you guys often struggle with it, feeling somewhat embarrassed - Just pause, go back and listen for a moment :p

eXxCeZz

Thats damn early today, what happened! Can't complain!

Seif

You do in fact have to be blood related for the best chance for a Crest to transfer. It's not an unbreakable rule but it is very tenuous to do outside the family. While you *are* right that Kerry wouldn't have transferred even if they were blood related, that assumption they make isn't entirely wrong.

Fabien

Look at Illya: your confusion wasn't wrong, that's not what people were saying. Even if she's older than Shirou, she clearly looks younger. I won't say more. Regarding the authors, even if Zero had a different writer, keep in mind Nasu (the writer of Fate/stay night) still gave the overall direction of the story. The "Nasu-world" as people call it, is still his own creation so the lore is entirely his. The writer of Fate/zero just worked with the direction Nasu gave him.

A Guy

It’s important to know that certain aspects of characterization for emiya are lost in the adaption because of a lack of his inner monologue. But let me put it like this when he was initially killed that first night at the school by lancer he cleaned up the blood left by his death because it would serve to be a nuisance for the other students with no thought to his own circumstances. Take the implication as you will.

Fabien

Considering some of your remarks, I can't wait for you to watch the 3 Fate/sn Heaven's Feel movies, it will be legendary.

Erik

Its always crazy to think how saber has the same master from the family, the emiya family, BUT her having one of the nicest masters compared to kiritisgusu who pretty much ignored her the entire war and hated her.

Never heard of "nasu-world", the popular term is nasuverse. That's just not how type-moon collaborations work though. Urobuchi didn't just take dictation/directions and "write". He wrote Fate/Zero. The plot, Waver and Rider, Kariya, all of that is his. So are the themes:"the guy who tries to save everyone and destroys himself doing it". That's the same writer as Saya no Uta, Madoka and Psycho-Pass. Nasu doesn't write bleak stories like that. That tonal gap is exactly why Zero first messes up people's reading of stay night. Nasu's role is moreso an editor. I think he disagreed with Gil and Saber's portrayal in Zero but still went with it because he trusted Urobuchi. (Zero had constraints as a prequel but Urobuchi is the one that approached to write it) Then there is Narita. Strange Fake is a divergent continuity with an almost entirely original cast, written in the same ensemble style he's used since Baccano! Nobody handed him that specifically. What was good though was all of these characters, systems and ideas that were introduced by all sorts of authors in the Nasuverse through all of the stories they wrote. But Nasu didn't have any direction in that story. The setting and lore being Nasu's with him signing off on spin-offs, I agree. "The writer just worked with the direction Nasu gave him" I don't. As much as I enjoy the universe I personally don't like Nasu nor his very very yappy yappy padded style of writing. I think he has gotten better though, currently playing the Tsukihime remake.

Early drop today made my day ❤️ thanks as always. I appreciate your discussions and I'm really happy that you're enjoying this !

rryutie

32:21 Steph's "That's it!?" resounded, haha. The double drops really do make the weekly wait bearable. I loved finding out you two were childhood friends, that story was really wholesome.

Fabien

I just mix-up the words it's nasu-verse yes, english isn't my first language and sometimes my brain invent new words. Regarding Nasu, what I meant by direction is that outside of the lore, the plot points related to F/sn already existed and some were already explained in F/sn, so outside of the original elements you mentioned (waver etc) Urobuchi's plot followed a preexisting story. A lot of characters are concerned, and the way the fourth grail war ended. I may have gone too far in the way I worded things so my bad, but I feel that on the opposide side, you're also downplaying a bit how what happens in Zero remains within the constraints of F/sn. I honestly don't know if Nasu disagreed with how Saber was portrayed, but her relationship with Kiritsugu for example is exactly as described in F/sn (first route in particular). One of the many things.

One thing that the Anime doesnt quit convey as well as the novel is that Shirou has a massive case of Survivors Guilt that drives alot of his more "spacey" or dumb self endangering actions

Oscar Medina

Fun fact about Shirou's confusion. Gandr the curse that Rin loves to use is very basic and works by draining the life of a person by pointing at them. Normally it isn't that lethal over short time. Rin's is so strong that it can blow up rock and kill people something that normally is not possible for a curse of that level.

sasha

Saber ask for the use of a Command Spells in case of trouble for Shirou at schools because with a Command Spells the servant can teleport to the master

Aatrox

bro i need more than 2 episodes a week PLS

Temojikato

I removed my Kerry comment because it felt spoilery (I try comment on previous eps not current so they can marinate a week :p ); but yeah, fair enough ^^

Kinx

What streaming service are they using for the included deleted scenes?

Here's the thing about the FATE universe. It's actually just a part of the Nasuverse. Kinoko Nasu is the creator of the setting FATE, Tsukihime, Garden of Sinners, and a few other titles all reside within. So, Nasuverse. The FATE/Stay Night series was originally a visual novel (VN) which contained the storylines of FATE/Stay Night, FATE/Stay Night (Unlimited Blade Works), and FATE/Stay Night Heaven's Feel. For anyone not aware of this it can make the three different animations seem like remakes of each other. All three exist simultaneously as potential alternate timelines of each other. Essentially, the Nasuverse is a headcannon universe. Anything that anyone creates and attributes to being part of something in the Nasuverse is considered cannon, even if it would break continuity for a different work within the Nasuverse. Generally the FATE portion of the Nasuverse is more like a setting guide than a storyline. Pretty much anything one might make with Heroic Spirits in mind could be considered part of the Nasuverse as a FATE fan-work and therefore cannon. If you want it to be. The power of the Nasuverse is that if you can imagine continuity, even if it's a completely cracked out idea, then continuity exists. Headcannon universe. Though the downside is you can never sit down and watch a FATE series installment and expect it to have ANYTHING to do with another installment. Sometimes there's connections, sometimes they're super loose, and sometimes, like with FATE/Zero, it's designed to specifically fit within the same timeline as another installment. But it also means FATE can be written by anyone. I don't think Nasu has written many of the FATE installments aside from Stay Night.

Does anyone know if they said if or when they will do Demon Slayer movie?

Also to chime in on the discussion at the end of the video: To me it feels like a lot of stories are written so that the values of all characters aside from the protagonist are written to be, "wrong." As if the differing values are just there to add conflict that's resolved by bringing that character down through death, shame, or a change in belief or philosophy that closer matches the philosophy and beliefs of the protagonist. I think this method works well for short stories such as fairy tales or one book novels, but it can be tiring when the method is applied to longer stories. Further on this point, the application of this method of story telling is really best applied to simple messages that aren't about core beliefs themselves, but are more like wisdom or advice for a particular situation or type of situation. Stories about core beliefs should be longer and more complex, and should avoid this short form methodology where the core beliefs behind the final message are the only, "correct," set of values to follow.

Only high skilled mages can communicate with their Servants telepathically, otherwise they just go invisible next to their Master, using mana.

Nikolai Ilushko

It's exciting to see in both if these episodes a build up for both UBW and Heaven's feel movies. Some of the small stuff in this episode are going to be important.

Seif

When you watch her about to fight Shirou you can see her sweating and nervousness in her eyes. She was bracing herself to do what she thinks a 'mage' should do but deep down she doesn't have the heart to be a part of that culture. When it comes down to it Rin can't make herself as cruel as she needs to be to follow in her father's footsteps. Honestly, her father's death was the best thing that could have happened to her soul. She got to grow up with only experiencing the Mage world 'in theory' rather than being taught directly to accept it. That last conversation did a wonderful job of having her face the flaw in her worldview and see that it doesn't have to be that way.

Kalar King

This isn't a spoiler, but it's clear that she wasn't trying to kill Emiya. However, if she had won the fight, she WOULD have erased his memory and taken his Command Seals (this is a dead end if you are knocked out by her in the visual novel). Rin was NOT playing around about defeating him right then and there. Is just that when Shirou saved her life and protected her of that servant dagger that she changed her mind and made a truce with Shirou instead.

NoSoupRice

Emiya "people die when they are killed" Shirou

Marcos cruz

One things that the anime never explains fully, is that Kiritsugu would go very often, until his death, to the Einzbern castle to get Illya, but the head of the Einzbern family put a barrier that he couldn't break, because after his encounter with the inside of the holy grail and ultimately rejecting it, he got curse by it, slowing killing him and having his magic powers severely diminished, it's weird that the anime decide to leave this part out.

Quinn

Its 4am for me here I would get excited every week thinking "YES ITS FRIDAY" and then would immediately realized that its actualy the next day lol.

Alex5AVA6E

Are you guys gonna react to Demon Slayer Infinity Castle????

TxSadz

lol I’m pretty sure you guys won’t be be able to guess the purpled hair woman with they eye mask 🤭

Linus Pettersson

in the final episode of fate/zero kiritsugu mentioned that he visited the Einzberns many times, but couldn't get in because of the barrier.

Koko

I forgot how cute Rin and Saber are

SquirtleSquady

This show is so damn good, I love how deep you guys go in analyzing the characters. It’s nice seeing reactors who care and it’s obvious you guys do. It makes me realize and love the intricacies of the show itself a lot more as well.

D. L. Pulver

Well, there is a Fate-series magical detective show starring some of the characters you've met (Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files). Given it's in canon for the main timeline, possibly a good choice to watch after Heaven's Feel and before Fate Strange Fake or other options.

Klinch

Adorable hide & seek story. 😂 As a first time Fate watcher, I don't think I'd enjoy this show as much as I do if I'm watching it alone. Thank you!

Klinch

I wanna know this too, But that movie is long. They might need to plan for a proper schedule.

Carlo Marasigan

If you watch this first, whe do you learn who Saber is? Saber's identity was revealed in a climactic fashion in the Fate Route. But im not sure when the equivalent revelation is in UBW.

Gavern

The second to last or last episode. And it isn't a direct reveal, just Saber using her noble phantasm which reveals who she is. But it's only the audience, Shiro never finds out outside of the Fate route.

Linus Pettersson

Saying this again but i'm happy you remembered to watch with this player 🙏👍Now you wont miss like 10% of the show lol. I also want to say that you should watch the three movies with this player too... Great reaction and Discussion as always.

Linus Pettersson

just in case you forgot, in the final episode of Fate/Zero Kiritsugu mentioned that he visited the Einzberns many times, but couldn't get in because of the barrier.

Linus Pettersson

Kara no kyoukai/Garden of Sinners would also be a great watch

Linus Pettersson

Also in Fate/Zero episode 19, the backstory episode, when Kiritsugu shoots the plane down, in the beginning of the episode Natalia (the mentor) mentiones that Kiritsugu has gotten his Magic Crest, that was his fathers. In the Fate/Zero anime they don't really explain but Natalia negotiated with the Mage's Association so that Kiritsugu could inherit a small fragment (less than twenty percent) of the total crest while the Association took the vast majority of it.

sperrfeuer

I would definitely love a Garden of Sinners reaction from them too, not sure how open they would be to doing that tho

Mr.John Cordero

Finally catched up with you guys! When you uploaded Fate/Zero on YouTube I just had to join to watch the full reaction here. I'm glad you've enjoyed Fate so much and I'm here for the long ride.

banlungx001

they didn t mention it , because this is spoiler from heaven feels 2.

Wes And Steph

We are! We need a space in the schedule to do it or some extra babysitting time from my mom who is traveling!
