"Is that the subjunctive?" rewatching this with you guys makes me realize how many cameos are in this show. Like it almost seems like part of the structure of the show, where every episode gets a celeb, and every love interest is a celeb.

Selma Hayek is so good in 54 (director's cut)

I love how Liz is basically riddled with unexamined bigotries. Which leads her to everything from sicing the Department of Homeland Security on her neighbor to treating her date like a child.

Yes. There are two versions, the directors cut and the theatrical cut. They are almost two entirely different movies that barely resemble each other. The director's cut is really good and the theatrical cut is really bad. In-between shooting 54 and its release the entire cast blew up to be major Hollywood stars, so Harvey Weinstein demanded like an hour of additional scenes be filmed and included. And then locked the director out of editing. Resulting in a really terrible movie that even the cast will comment on what a travesty occurred. Luckily the original version of the film was able to be assembled and released and is really good.
