Wow what a murders row of shows you all are doing! Best lineup in all of YT! For Real.

Daniel Lydford

There are a number of reasons why The Wire didn't get more attention from the award shows. Season 2, for example, aired in the summer of 2003, and was eligible for the 2004 Emmy Awards where the nominations were announced a year after the season aired.

Jonathan

The lack of violence on this show was actually one of the more unrealistic things in the early seasons of the show for a city that averages a murder a day. Unfortunately a small child being hit by a stray round happens every few years. The new white police character with the mustache who is seen with the other new character you liked is the real Jay Landsman.

Roland Cooke

"Got more bodies on him than a Chinese cemetery". Truly gangster quote that. 🤩 The look on Pearlman's face as she reads McNulty's affidavit was priceless. 🤣

Stephanie Bedworth

You know, it's probably been about twenty years since I first saw this episode and I'm still mad as hell about that duck.

Bunch of things I've been waiting for in this episode: British actor Dominic West's bad British accent, Brother Mouzone, Major Colvin

MrRuss50

Smiles and Crys. This show brings em both every episode. Keep those after discussions coming guys. Of course we cant tell you how far off or how spot on 😊 you may be on some of your guesses. But I can tell you its fun watching your predictions.

We really appreciate that! Thank you so much for the kind words. Lots of great shows and we feel lucky to experience them with all of you

We love seeing how right or how wrong we end up being. I love taking about this show. I could go on for hours about it

It's my favorite show bar none, my brain is basically just a loop of The Wire and classic Simpsons.

Brian Harris

Brother. Mouzone. Buckle up, boys.

I love how we only briefly see the character (and how he is not what we expected), but he comes in with such mystique based on how the other characters talk about him.

David

Just a small note about your first reaction to Brother Mouzone; you might have been thinking of the Nation of Islam rather than the Muslim Brotherhood.

It's hard to say. HBO had so many series at the time that were critical darlings - The Sopranos, and Six Feet Under for example - that The Wire didn't get the push for awards that it might have gotten from a different network.
