The guy that Bunny met with after the shooting is played by Melvin Williams the drug kingpin Ed Burns had a task force against that Avon is based on. After prison he became a community activist working to keep kids out of the even more dangerous drug culture of the 2000s

I love the theater scene. It always reminds me of that old Looney Tunes where she sheep dog and wolf are chatting before they clock in for their shift.

David

The Deacon, who Bunny Colvin laments the meaning of his life with, used to be one of the biggest drug dealers in Baltimore during the 70s and 80s. He went by "Little Melvin". So when he tells Bunny drugs are a force of nature, he knows exactly what he's talking about.

I was quite glad for the distraction of your cat being cute during the dogfighting scene. And now you start to see why we were so excited for Bunny Colvin after his brief intro last season.

I've been fiending for more The Wire (TM)

One thing I think you guys missed. The higher ups don't actually care that Daniels blew his wire over a dog. He still looks good for stopping a war that was in process. That's why he was fairly nonchalant about it.

I love how much you agree with me that Daniels is a step up in every single way for Rhonda. He's got (a lot of) Jimmy's morals and grit, but also an ability and willingness to play the game that's just perfect for her. This guy wouldn't screw her over in front of a judge, or if he did he'd at least understand what he'd done and not resent her for being mad. Also richer, and more jacked, and... I was going to say "less divorced" but actually he's *more* divorced, in the good way where he's (apparently so far, this is a spoiler-free formulation not a suggestion that the appearance is true or false) not still hung up on his wife. Like, dude's apologizing for the state of his new bachelor pad to a woman who dated JIMMY MCNULTY. Please! You know if ever Jimmy apologized for the state of his pad to a woman it was in a low-key sarcastic "I guess women care about this nonsense" way. Conversely Rhonda also seems perfect for Daniels - ambitious like his wife, but still more passionate about the actual job and doing the right thing like he is. Speaking of people who suck towards women, I feel so bad for Keema's wife. I'm a single mother by choice and while it's a choice I'm perfectly happy with insofar as it was that or not be a mother at all, the thing I miss most is having a partner who loves my baby as much as I do. Seeing her react to Keema's indifference & hapless attempts breaks my heart. And good catch on it being a very bad idea to fall asleep with your baby in bed - I don't blame Keema's partner for doing so because you get tired, but clearly *Keema* didn't read the baby books beyond the part with the fontanelle did she, what with seeing that and leaving like she did. (In Keema's defense, maybe that tidbit of advice wasn't as well-known or accepted at the time and the writers missed the implications themselves?) Spoiler for (checking to be helpful...) season 5 episode 7: V'z fb tynq Xrrzn riraghnyyl pbzrf nebhaq, gung "Tbbq avtug ubccref" fprar vf tbyq

I read somewhere on Reddit that Valchek is basically George Costanza with lots of power.

I always loved the differences between Omar's robbery style and Kimmy and Tosha's style. Omar like to stalk his prey and ambush them when they're at their most vulnerable. Kimmy and Tosha are masters of disguise. Loved that in this episode Omar went along with the disguise idea.
