The first time I ever watched that Marlo sex scene and she turns around and goes, "that was nice.." I remember thinking "was it? Seemed pretty underwhelming." LOL

Michael Hyatt scene with McNulty is one of her best ever. She had the believable tears and spot on lip tremble that gets me every time.

McNulty and Brianna, and Stringer & Avon... Holy crap did we get some Emmy-reel material, for the actors and writers this episode.

One of my most favorite episodes of the Wire. You have so many smart characters being forced to consider the consequences of their plans/schemes. Avon schooling Stringer, the Reverend schooling Bunny, Teresa schooling Carcetti, even the local cop gives McNulty the business for his dumb pretend to be racist plan.

I honestly had forgotten about that scene. What a powerhouse performance by both actors.

That scene. We're at the midpoint of the series and that scene... It's Shakespearean, or Greek drama, it really is.

Kevin is right about Stringer being a "halfway crook", but I don't think the problem is him not being "hard enough". That was just Avon twisting the knife because he's pissed off about the direction Stringer has been taking things, which in turn stung Stringer into revealing he murdered D. Let's not forget, Stringer was on site when they captured and tortured Brandon. This is not a guy who's squeamish about violence, and Avon knows that. He is trying to straddle the fence because he views the game as a means to an end, which becomes a problem when you're dealing with someone like Marlo who clearly isn't amenable to your "share and share alike" approach. Ironically, Stringer is colder and more ruthless than even Avon. Can you imagine Avon bumping off, say, Wee-Bey's brother and then stopping by to console Bey like he had nothing to do with it? 😂

Perfection. It's one of those scenes that you can't believe is on television. That's as good as anything that's been on the big screen.

Fantastic point. He is way more calculated than Avon for sure. In many ways that's way more frightening.
