The actress portraying Jane Braun, from the RNC, is Melinda McGraw. She portrayed Bobbie Barrett on Mad Men.

I don't think there's a weak episode in the rest of the series. I've rewatched these final episodes so many times, and I still can't get enough. The writing, directing, and acting is consistently impressive, especially from Bradley Whitford and Allison Janney. I love the scenes with Will and Kate. Very cute and real. That moment with Vinick meeting Debbie in the White House made me flash back to my childhood; Alan Alda and Lily Tomlin were two of the biggest comedy stars on television in the 70s, but I'm not sure if they ever worked together before.

That's a great point about Tomlin and Alda. HUGE television stars in the 70's. They were both in David O. Russell's Flirting with Disaster (it's been so long, I don't remember if they share any screen time).

Kevin's chemistry radar was off the charts this episode, lol. Huge sacrifice from Sheila, I'm going to miss Patricia Richardson.

Roland

Love the Ted Lasso shirt Joe. 🤩

The pacing here was so good. From the first second of film, the words per minute count was off the charts and they kept that up for half the episode. Then took their foot off the gas to add more weight to the meeting at the White House, and Sheila's resignation. And the episode ends with a minute or two of no dialogue at all. Like both of you, I'm with Will on work relationships. It's weird, but you'll figure it out. I think people make all kinds of rules for themselves to follow about who they should date because of what MIGHT happen, and I've always thought, sure, anything might happen -- and if it does, you just deal with it. That's just life, navigating relationships and choices. And it's too short to pen yourself in with those kinds of rules.

I don't mind the Donna and Josh thing. Some shows force in a lot of unnecessary romance between main characters, but The West Wing has avoided that. This has been building since the very start, and they haven't pulled the trigger until now, so I'm fine with it.

Aaah...big episode for the Josh/Donna shippers

You know, if you haven’t seen it Grace and Frankie might be a fun series for you guys to watch at some point. I forgot how much I loved Kate. Mary McCormack needs to work more. I enjoyed her USA show (which Josh Malina was also on).

I saw her on Broadway once (With Bradley Whitford). She is twice as charming (and striking) when you see her perform live. Such a talent, and she does need to work more.

For 5 seasons, I was strongly opposed to it. But they really let it build well, and it didn't seem out of place or unearned at all here. I'm so glad it didn't happen sooner.

What is not really mentioned but is absolutely a thing is that back in late season five, you see Bartlet flashing back to his own transition and a minor military action the outgoing president is launching. He furiously and erroneously refers to it as a war and gets laughed at by Fitz’s underling. Eight years later he is preparing his potential successors for an actual war he may saddle them with. In Proportional Response he had no ability to think militarily. As his term ends he’s the only person in the room thinking that it’s cold in Russia. Aaron Sorkin is a talent and amazing but man do these late series episodes just absolutely park it.
