I always love just how varied the picks are! And I'm also glad that you guys started regularly posting your lists of upcoming purchased films. It definitely adds a lot of anticipation for us to look forward to what's coming!

100%, the mix of old & new, acclaimed & unheralded makes for a fantastic mix of stuff.

Two thumbs up for Holes, Pretty Woman, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Working Girl, Oh God, WarGames, and Overboard. (Three thumbs for Runny on Empty if possible.) One thumb up for Harold and Maude, Muriel’s Wedding, The Joy Luck Club, and Interview with the Vampire. Only one muscle fiber twitch for To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar, The Three Musketeers, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, Tootsie and Tommy. No thumbs for My Fair Lady (just wasn’t to my liking, needs editing — much much much prefer the 1938 black and white Pygmalion release starring Leslie Howard and Wendy Hiller).

This is funny because i know 0 movie from that list, i feel so stupid lol

This is something I really appreciate about this channel, not only the measured, smart and thoughtful analysis, but the surprisingly obscure and non-mainstream film choices. As a bona fide cineast I can really appreciate that, and there are some of the absolute best hidden gems of all times in this list: Harold and Maude, Fanny and Alexander, Lars and the Real Girl, Pi, Barton Fink, Withnail & I... but paradoxically I'm most excited about Noises Off: In my opinion the funniest movie of all time (yes, really!), and while its original play is still a theatre classic the movie has unjustly been pretty much forgotten. I can't wait!

Yay! Overboard!!!! In my top 10 movies. I rewatch it several times a year, as does my whole family.

Tommy!? Is that The Who's Tommy(1975)? I sure hope so!

YAAAAY! Two of mine are next! These are my purchases for this list: Pretty Woman (1990) Runaway Bride (1999) Miracle on 34th Street (1994)... John Hughes did this one, it's great! WarGames (1983) The Family Stone (2005)... one of Diane Keaton's best movies! Overboard (1987)

Andy Schreiber

War Games is a really fun choice! I saw it when it first came out (yes, I'm just that old!), and haven't since. I will really look forward to that!

Actuarial Lurker

I've only seen 21 of these 63 films so this should be interesting

Ben Gilbert

Looking forward to Tokyo Godfathers, a remake of the John Wayne movie.

Erica

Fun fact for ya: after Santino Fontana left Crazy Ex-girlfriend to go back to new york, one of his first roles back in the city was the lead on Tootsie on Broadway!

Ben Gilbert

Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd! Is the 1982 version the one with Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Lovett? There was a non-musical film in 1936, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, starring the appropriately named Tod Slaughter. There were also a couple of silent films and a Showtime movie in the '90s. I saw the Broadway revival a couple of years ago with Joe Locke as Tobias and Josh Groban as Todd. Groban was great, though not as good as George Hearn.

The Family Stone would be great xmas pick!

Andy Schreiber

Yes! This is the 1982 version with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn, filmed in Los Angeles. I saw that production live there. L.A. audiences just didn't want to turn out for a show with these dark themes (not saying what they are so as not to provide any spoilers for Joe & Kevin, who I'm sure read these comments, so shhhh!), and there was barely anybody in the theater. I was a student at the time, with no money, so I had bought the cheapest tickets at the back of the top balcony, and five minutes before curtain, ushers came around and told us to go get seats anywhere we wanted in the Orchestra or "Founders Circle," which is the first level up, and considered by many to be the best seats in the house, as they were closing the Loge, Balcony A, and Balcony B levels. It was an amazing night. And yes - Hearn was INCREDIBLE, as, of course, was Lansbury. (In case you couldn't tell, I'm the party responsible for putting this on the list.)

Hello, just joined as a member. Excited to purchase a film to add to the list, but just wanted to make sure I understood the process first. Is there any difference between the “You Pick It, We Watch It” items in the shop? Also, is there any running list of movies that have already been reacted to (aside from going through the YouTube channel’s entire video catalog). Just wanted to make sure I’m not just requesting a previously recorded reaction. Thanks!

acidnova

Welcome! There's no difference between the items in the shop that I've ever noticed but I like going in numerical order as it helps me keep track of how many I've purchased. I suspect it was just a way to make it easier for people to buy multiple movies. You just buy one and send a private message to the guys to let them know what movie you want them to watch. You can also ask them ahead of time if they've already seen a movie you're interested in purchasing. They're pretty responsive. They do have movie playlists on Patreon so you can try using the search function just to see if the movie you want has already been posted here. While it's not as easy as looking through a spreadsheet or doc, it's helpful. And like I said, you can always ask

Juley

The Contender, Muriel’s Wedding, The Joy Luck Club….I’m in movie heaven!!!!!

Sammy Fan

I can't wait to see the Women and Gold Diggers of 1933. Thee Women's cast is amazing and the dances and camera work in Gold Diggers still hold up. Please don't skip over them.
