Hillary is the guinea pig. We never learn the godmother's name. And the gentleman guest in this episode is preserved in the credits as Arsehole Guy. You nailed the father exactly in your discussion. He means well probably, but he's deeply inarticulate and has no idea how to talk to daughters.

The lack of names for some of the characters is really throwing us off when we talk about it! It is a really strange and interesting choice and I think it's kinda brilliant.

Ooh, I love that juxtaposition! As a first-timer alongside Joe and Kevin, I’m guessing naming choices are going to be meaningful in this show. Hillary is important to Fleabag (whatever she says, lol), whereas Godmother is just a colossal bitch — the Guinea pig is more of a person in this story than she is.

I'm happy we've gotten to the episode where The Godmother shows herself as how truly ugly she actually is. Every thing she says to Fleabag is a paper cut, and then she just covers it with her lemon juice smile. An absolute monster. I do wonder if the Father wants to get out but can't. Like, there are warning signs that are genuinely worrisome...

It really sucks because we really love Olivia Coleman. She crushes everything she's in. They really do keep the fathers emotions quite distant.
