Somehow I think it's great how the only character who still sings good "in real life" and not in Rebecca's head is Tim.

I don't know if you're aware yet (we who watched the first telecast were informed way in advance), but the season finale is Episode 17. The following episode (18) is a live concert that the cast had filmed a couple of weeks before, and was aired immediately after 17. I'm really torn about altering lyrics of someone else's songs. (My attitude may be influenced by my preservationist viewpoint -- I edit scores of classic musicals for publication.) I understand that some older songs have words that we now perceive as problematic. But if you signed a performing license in which you promise not to make any changes, then you don't make changes.
