I would recommend the YouTube link posted last week that helps unpack Iran-Contra, it really is one of the wildest chapters in US (global, really) history. If for nothing else it'll make you sit up and go WTF! when you learn who got a script credit for next week's episode (S2E9: Martial Eagle).....

WOW WOW WOW - I did not know he got a writing credit....J and/or K....I know you guys put a lot of your time each week in reactions for us....it might be worth it for one of you to watch that video from last week knowing what Roland Cooke said above! (I don't think it's a spoiler to say who gets a writing credit, but I'll let you hammer that out with Roland ;) )

It was definitely known about ahead of time back in the day, so not a spoiler, but a lovely surprise in 2024. 🙂 It's more for the young pups of today (like Joe and Kevin maybe 🤣🤣) that might not be familiar with the major players in Iran-Contra, or possibly with Iran-Contra itself.

Appreciate you two continuing on this spy journey, I know it's not getting the same response viewing wise as some of your other content (here and on YT), but it feels like you're enjoying the storylines enough for your own entertainment, and maybe, just maybe some of the Patreons will come on board for the long haul! Originally airing on April 16, 2014, 'New Car' is Episode 8 of Season 2 of The Americans. It is the 21st episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.0, placing it as the #6 ranked episode of this season and #10 out of all the episodes shown so far.

Joe & Kevin, there's a Reddit community dedicated to The Americans, with 30K members. You could likely post there to advertise your Patreon/YT, should check their rules first of course. And be a little careful, people post stuff in their thread titles that are potential spoilers. I didn't see anything too bad (probably against the rules), but suggest you wear blinkers! 🙂

Hey thanks for the heads up! We might just check it out. Appreciate your passion for the show. It is just damn fascinating! Awesome show

People love to rewatch this show, understandably so, I would imagine that you would get at least a few takers, especially as you aren't that far into the overall story.

Huh... > n 2021 and 2023, the Cabinet Office was still blocking or redacting freedom of information requests for files on the Spycatcher affair despite the rule that documents should be released after 30 years.[2][3] <
