Here's the full length reaction to the Theatrical Release of The Addams Family (1991)! We're kicking (almost) October off with a fun comedy! This is obviously so hilariously dark and morbid, but I didn't expect it to be so heartwarming as well! My plan is to watch Addams Family Values closer to Thanksgiving. I've heard that it's a Thanksgiving-adjacent movie! Enjoy!

Happy Monday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the theatrical release of The Addams Family (1991). This is a fun Halloween gem to watch every October. I get a good laugh out of Wednesday and Pugsley's excerpt from Hamlet, especially with all of that spraying blood. BTW, you'll see more of that girl scout in Addams Family Values (1993).

Excellent choice, and the sequel is even better! There would have been a third had Raul Julia not passed away 😔 I’m about the same age as Christina Ricci and I’ve had a crush on her since this movie. Maybe it’s why I’ve always had a thing for Goth women 😂

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 RIP always to Raul Julia! 🕊 I absolutely love this movie! So excited that you're watching it. And "The Addams Family Values" is one of my favorite sequels. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

Always a fun movie to watch, the TV series on which it is based on is great too. I was able to meet several of the cast, like Christopher Lloyd, who I just love, Carel Struycken (Lurch), Jimmy Workman (Pugsley) and Christopher Hart (Thing)

Hi Addie, just to make things easier for Patrons it is good to include the run time of your copy in the description—that way you don't have to go investigating which version you streamed, but we can do that at our end instead 👍

Just updated the description to include which version I watched!

We're Addamses !! Perfect spooky movie for October

Addams Family stuff is always fun. The musical is also really good. 😊 (Out of curiosity I checked just now and it's even on tour from September through October in the US as well.)

Addams Family Values is a funnier, more entertaining movie in my opinion. You should really enjoy it.

Speaking of musical, there was a musical sequence involving a full-length Mamushka sequence which was shortened due to pacing issues. It was later added back when the film's 4K remaster came out in 2021. You can find the link in my comment reply.

More movies good for November/Thanksgiving: "Grumpy Old Men" (1993) "Necessary Roughness" (1991) "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" (1981)

One of my favorites from childhood. My grandma had it on VHS and I played it whenever I visited her. I love it even more as an adult as some of the jokes went over my head as a kid. Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, and Christopher Lloyd were all excellent. Did you recognize Christopher Lloyd in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? He truly transforms in all his roles. Anjelica Huston was in the 90s adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Witches and her role in that is a complete 180 from Morticia Addams.
