Here's the full length reaction to Poltergeist! I was really dreading this movie, but I survived!! The scare level wasn't as bad as I expected. At the time of me typing this, Sleepy Hollow is currently tied in the poll, so I'll be watching that later this week. Enjoy!

I'm putting this on now. I know this will be fun... for us.

We appreciate your sacrifices, Addie. 😁

Let's give Addie a round of applause for surviving Poltergeist (1982)! 👏👏 Happy Monday. I'm so glad that you watched this iconic horror movie. I just got it on DVD when I was hanging out with my girlfriend, this past Saturday and I'm watching it either tonight or later. BTW, please have that Addie scream at 25:31 be the thumbnail when the YouTube cut comes out.

Oh boy 😬 this is where the fun begins...

...and we appreciate the karate-chops and Addie screams.

Hi Addie, well done watching your first cursed film! The stories that allegedly happened on set on this film is nothing but spooky and tragic of what followed. Believe it or not, this film has a controversy with its director. To this day, nobody can agree on on whether or not, Tobe Hooper, known for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, directed the film or if it was really was Steven Spielberg. Story goes that Spielberg was under some kind of contract with the studio that forbid to direct a film right after 'ET' and he was interested in 'Poltergeist', so he worked around the studio and was a lingering presence on set.

I think the older people remember that back then they always played the national anthem before and after a channel went off the air. Until 6AM it would be either rainbow bars or static. Somewhere in the mid-80s they started going 24 hours and we had Movies Till Dawn or reruns of TALES FROM THE DARK SIDE.

Addie, I am so excited that you're going to be watching 'Sleepy Hollow' (1999). Its the perfect Halloween film. Ever since I was a kid the Headless Horseman has always fascinated me. The town of Sleepy Hollow is a real place.

Or, more likely, infomercials

If you want to watch a fantastic scary movie that’ll make you cry at the end check out JACOB’S LADDER (with Tim Robbins). Not just scary but a really beautiful, thought provoking film.

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 This is the perfect scary movie to watch on a rainy day here today. LOL! The clown scene always scares me. Can't wait to watch "Sleepy Hollow" later this week. And I definitely can't wait to watch this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

If you want to be really scared THE ENTITY (1982) came out the same year and is similar to Poltergeist but based on a real haunting 👻

Julian San

Guy tried to fry up a steak in the middle of the night while an exhausted family tries to sleep in the next room??? He got off lightly with just a face melting hallucination!

StonedTrunks

I remember this traumatized me as a kid haha

Here's a tidbit about a certain scene. When the mom is alone in the bedroom and the poltergeist comes back it rolls her around the walls and ceiling. In the 1951 movie, Royal Wedding, we see Fred Astaire dance around the floor..wall..ceiling etc This was filmed in a rotating room. A few years later, there was a music video by Lionel Richie who did the same. We then see it happen again in Inception. Whether or not someone ever mentioned this to you previously I have no idea.

How this got a PG I will never know RIP Heather O’Rourke and Dominique Dunne

Addie, wanna know something crazy? The skeletons near the end that the woman fell into were real.

I'm gonna watch this tonight. I'm gonna be let down if there's not at least one "It's SO CREEPY!!" in there somewhere. Pick which thing Addie thought was the most creepy. :-) Kidding, of course. Thanks for making it through this classic for the channel. 19:03 - We have a winner!!!!!!

If there's one thing Poltergeist and Scooby Doo have taught me, it's that when there's a ghost haunting a house it's because of some greedy real estate scheme. 🤷‍♂️

Adrian Duenas

Addie, I think you gave us the best Poltergeist reaction! 👻💀🤡 Fun fact: Poltergeist and E.T. were released one week apart. Great example of how big Spielberg was in the 80’s.

Steve SG-1

The Poltergeist house is actually a Airbnb that you can stay at now. Looking at peoples videos on Youtube and it looks pretty much the same as it did back then!

Doug

By the way, if you thought they said “Carol Anne” too much in this movie, they went WAAAY overboard in Poltergeist III where it’s said 121 times! (Do NOT play the Carol Anne drinking game watching that!) 😳

John A

Reminds me that back in the day, TV stations would play the Star Spangled Banner before they signed off for the day around Midnight and 3 am. then static would be on the screen like in this movie.

Harry S

Good reaction! As was mentioned the skeletons were real. It was cheaper to buy real ones then fake ones. I think a few movies back then did this.

My dad and I were going to see E.T. but it was sold out, so we got tickets for Poltergeist instead. I loved it more even though pops was freaked out lol. Think I got a better deal cuz still one of my all time favorites 😁
