Here's the full length reaction to Oppenheimer! What an incredible movie! This was a long one, but the movie moved so quickly. I looked up the cast after the movie, and I didn't even realize that it was Gary Oldman who played Truman! Enjoy!

Let's give Addie a round of rhythmic feet stomping for watching Oppenheimer (2023) as her second movie on her channel for the new year. 🦶🦶 Happy Friday. This is my ALL-TIME favorite movie of 2023 and my all-time favorite Christopher Nolan movie alongside Dunkirk (2017). The experience of seeing this movie in IMAX was very impactful indeed. In fact, I saw it in IMAX, twice. First with my girlfriend in IMAX Digital and again with my dad in IMAX 70mm. As a junkie for visual suspense, the Trinity Test is my favorite scene in the movie because of the anticipation for the countdown as well as the blast itself. When my girlfriend & I first saw it, we were wondering "Where's the boom?" Then the shockwave from the blast jolted me to the back of my seat. Both times when that scene started building up, my heart was racing at 115 bpm on my watch. The speech at the gym was also intense because of Oppie having visions of a woman, played by Christopher Nolan's own daughter, Flora, whose skin starts peeling. Not only that, the wall behind him starts shaking while he's static and then the BOOM as we cut to the crowd cheering for Oppie. He also sees various hallucinations around him as he leaves the gym. Now that's terrifying. This is also my all-time favorite movie that Robert Downey Jr. starred in. His performance as Lewis Strauss was so well done. The same can also be said for Florence Pugh as Jean Tatlock. The lust in her eyes in Kitty's vision of her when she's on Oppie's lap was very powerful. I also love how the Fusion sequences were shot in both Black & White 15/70mm IMAX film & Black & White Panavision Super 70mm film. BTW, that rhythmic feet stomping on the bleachers is my favorite sound effect from the movie. No wonder why it gave you anxiety.

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 YAY! It's FINALLY time for "Oppenheimer"!!! LOL! I've only seen this movie a couple of times, and I immediately loved it after the first watch. The cast and storyline is amazing! I'm definitely going to be rooting for this movie during the awards season. I very highly recommend the 1990 "Gremlins 2: The New Batch". Have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊

Me too, Randee. I'm rhythmically stomping my feet for Oppenheimer (2023) to win the Academy Award for Best Picture at this year's Oscars, when it airs in March. I also second Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990). #Gremlins2TheNewBatchForAddieCounts

The use of color is to portray Oppenheimer's subjective perspective (Fission) and the use of black & white is used to portray Strauss's objective perspective (Fusion).

Interesting note about Oppenhimer. He lived a pretty long life, but due to the bomb and his huge role in developing it, and living with that guilt so much that he ended up smoking so much to cope that he died of lung cancer. They do a good job of showing his non verbal emotional thoughts in this film but in real life this ate at him so hard, it led to him chain smoking, and ultimately die of cancer. The irony is, the bomb is still what ended up killing him.

Another Christopher Nolan movie that take place during World War II but before the Manhattan Project that I would also suggest to you is Dunkirk (2017), which is currently tied with Troy (2004) in third on your recent poll. #DunkirkForAddieCounts Speaking of Josh Hartnett, who plays Ernest Lawrence in this movie and Zeke Tyler in The Faculty (1998), I also suggest two war movies that were produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Pearl Harbor (2001, directed by Michael Bay) & Black Hawk Down (2001, directed by Ridley Scott) as well as The Virgin Suicides (1999), 40 Days and 40 Nights (2002), Hollywood Homicide (2003), Sin City (2005), 30 Days of Night (2007), the upcoming Trap (2024), and the Guy Ritchie films Wrath of Man (2021) & Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023). #MoreJoshHartnettForAddieCounts ...and Isador Rabi is played by David Krumholtz, who played Bernard the Head Elf in the Santa Clause movies & Mr. Universe in Serenity (2005).

I watched Oppenheimer four times now and everytime I have goosebumps and tears in the end, because his words are true on so many levels!

Here's a bit of fun context (admittedly, running fast and loose with "fun" given the subject matter). The bomb test took place during the summer of '45. A few months later, George Bailey went through his Christmastime crisis. A few years before, the von Trapp family were escaping Austria.

This second comment should go under Rocky, but I may as well make it here. A few more boxing basics. I didn't want to overload with info the last time around, but a few more details may be helpful. There are usually three ring-side judges who watch the fight closely. Each round they'll assign points to each fighter for landed blows (this is one source of controversy because this is basically a series of judgement calls). At the end of each round, the judge assigns points to the winner of the round (whoever lands the most punches), and less points to the loser (I don't want to overwhelm with details, but you can look up the "10 point must system"). If the fight goes the distance, each judge will add up the points assigned, and that will determine the winner for that judge (ties are possible). The decisions for the judges are then tallied to determine the winner of the fight. You can have a unanimous decision if all the judges ruled the same way, or a split-decision if they did not. The fight can then end with a winner, or it can end in a draw. When the results are announced, they'll call out the tally for each judge, such as "Judge X scored the fight 96, 93 - Boxer B ...". That tells the audience that Judge X thought Boxer B won, and also the sum of the points the judge assigned to each boxer.

BTW, I actually dressed up as Edward Teller during the bomb test for a Halloween get-together back in late October. However, much to my dismay, *none* of the people I interacted with in the hour or so that I was able to be there had seen the movie, thus, no one got the reference. 🤦‍♂️ It didn't really help, either, that the hand lotion I was using instead of actual sunscreen kept seeping into my face much quicker than I expected. 🤔

Here's a recommendation: "Saturday Night Fever" (1977) we were all about disco lol But the soundtrack is great!

I do hope that she watches the 2017 Director's Cut of the movie should it win in a poll.

I'm holding out to see Addie watch more gritty movies soon. #MoreGrittyMoviesForAddieCounts
