“May you live forever” Leonides told Ephialtes, that his death would have no honor or significance. He would not die in battle as a true Spartan. That was an epic insult. Also, the narrator was the one and only, David Wenham. Faramin from LOTR I CANNOT WAIT FORMASTER AND COMMANDER!! Talk about a lot of familiar faces.

Hey Addie, not sure if you will see this comment, but if you recall, Tom Cruse character (Nathan) in "The Last Samurai" where he is talking to Katsumoto in the last battle of the movie he says (paraphrasing) "There was this battle, at Thermopylae, 300 brave greeks, stood alone against a whole army of a million Persian men, for two days the greeks made them pay so dearly it made them lose the taste for battle" Katsumoto says "what happens to the 300 men" To which Nathan said "Dead to the last man" Kinda neat we get to see this story happen, but also glad you didnt remember that story as it sort of spoils this movie xD

Hi Addie! Just joined, been watching you on YT for a while now. One of my fave reactors, I appreciate your gentle spirit & warmth. Just wanted to tell you, what the hunchback asked Xerxes for was a uniform. While watching the movie, your mic was a little overpowering when you spoke, compared to my movie volume capacity. I'm not a techie guy, I don't know if that's something you can do anything about. Congrats on 80K Subs! 🤗

Another Zack Snyder film I would recommend would be The Watchmen - Director's Cut (2009). But only the Director's Cut - without the additional material the release version is subpar, and the Ultimate cut just dragged on and on. After that I think you can put Zack Snyder aside - he does great visuals, but they are all rehashes of these two movies. (Ok - Sucker Punch might be another candidate because of the visuals, but the story is just soo bad)

Ahhhh...Frank Miller's very exacting brain brought to life. I'm gonna get crucified for this, I'm sure, but I'm not a very big Zack Snyder fan. He's extraordinarily good at making things look beautiful; but, for me at least, he stumbles pretty hard when it comes to execution, character, theme, and overall story structure. This one is an exception. He dug his heels into this, found the good little nuggets, and brought them out to play (that sentence was weirder than I intended). I'd also give him the Dawn of the Dead remake, which wasn't bad; but, of course, that one had James Gunn at the writer's helm. Either way...very cool. "Ready your breakfast and eat hearty...for tonight we dine in HELL!"

It's been a while since I saw this, I forgot that Lena Headey who plays Cersei Lannister on Game of Thrones was the Queen in this. Talk about an actress destined to play imposing royalty! 😄
