News & Update - New Yumi, Who Dis? (Patreon)
Content
Alright, so I've been putting off posting another empty update just to say "Hey I still got nothing to show right now" or just to give some lame excuses explaining why I haven't put out a new build of something, anything, in these past few weeks.
Long story short, my team at my day job has been missing a few people, and I was asked to pick up the slack, which I have been doing a lot of, taking much of my time and energy.
Still, seeing how many of you unsubscribed very recently, perhaps thinking this was a dead account, I figured I could at least keep you all updated, now that I have more things to show.
First of all, artist Chayon is done with their new version of the character sprite for Yumi, the titular girl of my slice-of-life visual novel Don't Flex On Me Yumi-Chan!!!, as teased by the picture attached to this post.
As usual, Chayon's work is impeccable, and their second go at drawing Yumi makes her even more beautiful and slightly thicc-er in all the right places. She is back as the shining main star of the game, and I cannot wait to integrate this new art of her to stand alongside her friends.
I would still need at least one other commission to have a fully satisfying last episode to close the game on. I could just write it with placeholder art. We'll see.
I have visited my local anime con last weekend, with the firm intention of chatting up the people at JAST, the online adult eroge platform. If you recall, I saw the booth last year but couldn't work up the courage to approach them, and I kinda regretted it all year long.
Alas, this year, they were nowhere to be found on the convention floor. Perhaps I didn't look around hard enough? No matter, because...
...I ended up talking with the CEO of an up-and-coming support platform for adult creators, not dissimilar to the one you are reading this post on. It's a local initiative, still in beta, and I am currently preparing some sort of portfolio of the Peach Punch studio to pitch to the guy, to see if I can't become part of this new thing, which has me very excited.
Current funding platforms are...flaky, to say the least. And you know, in business, they say to never put your eggs in only one basket. I try to take this to heart with Peach Punch. I'll keep you updated as this situation develops.
I did continue my experiments with vibe coding, and I have some weird little demo thing I was thinking of sharing with you guys. Expect a follow-up post for subscribers with some neat little surprise.
Apart from that, vibe coding has made me add at least three minigames to The Bodyguard Girl Remake, each quite different from one another. A lockpicking minigame, a combination safe interface, and most importantly, a quick fight scene with Vivian. So yeah, blame that vibe coding tangent as to why the build is coming later than initially planned.
I am basically coming close to two other 'endings' to the game, which is making me wonder just how long the completed game will be.
Would you mind if the Bodyguard Girl game could be completed in literal minutes, if you do everything correctly and never get caught? I wouldn't want to add too much unnecessary padding to the title either. I'll think about it.
And that's it.
I don't know how much of my personal life I should share with you, but very recently, at my day job, an honest-to-goodness actual muscle girl joined my team. She is around my age and we've been hitting it off pretty nicely so far. Also, she has been ignoring our (admittedly very lax) dress code to wear almost exclusively cotton sweatpants and tank tops, so her arms are always on display. Turns out it's a pretty strong motivating factor to go to work now, haha.
I am already happily coupled with my best friend in my personal life, so I'm just passively enjoying the ride, you know? Still, it's a bizarre turn of events that I felt compelled to share.
May you also find good company wherever you work at. It makes the job so much more pleasant. I'll be back sooner with more good news! Until then, stay safe out there!
