Thanos is marvels version of Daekseid

Narutoanime16

Darksied is like Thanos and Fisk in one lol and Micheal Ironside voices him he's soo good. And they really be getting deep with these episodes how much more trauma do we need to go through with these shows and your gonna love Worlds Finest I can 't wait

"apocalypse is fucked up" oh You have NOOOOOO idea!

So Darkseid was actually the inspiration for Marvel's Thanos. Thanos might have gotten into the movies first but Darkseid was created first in the comics. They are similar in a lot of ways. From this point on I think most of the superman episodes are amazing. Worlds Finest here we come.

Purple Yoshi

Couple bits of clarification: 1. Kalibak is alive in the slave pits 2. Lois doesn’t know Clark is Superman even though Martha looked directly at Superman and called him Clark

Darksied is...kind of the OG Thanos, he's what a lot of the comic big bads are based on, he Manheim and everyone on his hell world called Apocalypse are actually created by Jack Kirby, he was the same guy who drew and co created a lot of marvels more popular characters like cap iron man fantastic 4 Thor avengers ect. Jack used Darksied as an kind of an allegory for a lot of things he's fascism ( Jack actually fought in world war 2) since New Genesis and it's leader High Father is (the opposite world and enemy of Apocalypse) is an allegory for God Darksied and Apocalypse are Satan and Hell. He's gunna obviously because big player later on. This is probably my fav interpretation of the character since it's the one I grew up with but I think they nail the ultimate evil/ calm cool calculating force of nature that is Darksied. Excited you made it this far, I especially excited your about to start Worlds finest it's easily one of my favorites from the DC animated universe. Been excited for you to get to this special ever since you started watch this series :)

Yessss! The day had come! Meg met Darkseid! Darkseid is basically Thanos but much worse! Other comments already said it but he was created first but If you thought Thanos was bad, Darkseid had done so much worse things like being a ruler/dictator. He’s also arguably the main villain of the entire DC universe in the comics & the arch enemy of the Justice League. As of right now, you’ve officially met all three of Clark’s main villains: Lex Luthor, Brainiac, & Darkseid!

I was so waiting for this episode since I knew this is where you would be reintroduced to Darkseid. As well as meeting some of the other characters on Apokolips like the hooded character named Desaad and Darkseid's son Kalibak. You're right on with the similarities Darkseid has with Thanos but as someone has already pointed out, the character of Darkseid was introduced first in the comics and was actually one of the inspirations for the creation of Thanos. As far as learning more about the species that Kalibak, Darkseid, and Desaad are, besides the comics, you will learn about some of them towards the end of this season, which I can't wait cause the rest of the episodes in this season are amazing. I'm also sooo excited for World's Finest next! Can't wait!

Funny you should say he reminds you of Thanos. Jim Starlin, the creator of Thanos, based Thanos’ design off of Darkseid. And yeah, I love Darkseid’s voice in this as well! 😁

Brodie Vickers

Not weird at all, Darkseid is a such a cool villain! You'll be meeting his OTHER son very soon..

Sam Brown

100% accurate about the gravel in that voice, Darkseid is voiced by Michael Ironside and if the name wasn’t enough indication the dude voices some of the most gravely characters (most notably Sam Fisher, the protag of the Splinter Cell games) I’ve ever heard. Terrific actor. Dudes also done live action like Starship Troopers, Total Recall, and Top Gun.

Martin Li

Michael Ironside has done a lot of gravelly voicework but I'll always know him as Darkseid. They do a good job teasing him early on before slowing bringing him to the fore as the ultimate enemy of Superman, and indeed the enemy of all beings who believe in goodness and freedom. Speaking of legendary VAs you might also recognize Michael Dorn (Lt. Worf from Star Trek) as Kalibak. World's Finest In The Hizzle!

Brandon Dodge

If I remember correctly Michael Dorn was also Fright Knight in Danny Phantom and Weasel in I Am Weasel lol

Brandon Gibbs

First of all seeing Lois jogging like that was pretty hot!😘 Also on Darkseid there's practically no such thing as family as you heard them say. So kalibak was not really a son to him, just a minion. Also yes that was cute how Lois was finally meeting Clark's parents and already they were sorta shipping them and saying she was practically in their family. Furthermore I also can't wait till you start Justice League TAS myself Meg!😉😁

Paul Wright

Michael Ironside is also in Smallville and X-Men First Class.
