Enter the Punisher, one of the most controversial “superheroes” ever

Now I want to see Meg play The Punisher (2005) developed by Volition who a year later would release Saints Row. Underatted Marvel game and one of my personal favourites. Now we need a Daredevil game in the vein of the Arkham series.

The Amazing Webhead

The Punisher is one of Marvel’s biggest characters. From what you’ve seen of him, he’s basically dangerous but there’s more to him and that makes him interesting. He was introduced in a Spider-Man comic in the 1970’s but Marvel saw potential in the character that they gave him his own ongoing comic series. He had crossed paths with Spider-Man, Daredevil, The Avengers, Wolverine, Blade, Deadpool, etc.

Compared to Wolverine & ghost rider ? Maybe lol

The Punisher! He also has huge respect for Captain America in the comics too you gotta read the Civil War comic story & I love how much Foggy cares Matt’s lucky he didn’t die & Wolverine, Punisher and Deadpool are some of marvels best anti hero's & Karen hasn’t told anyone she killed Wesley at the end of the first season the look she gave Matt was one of being unsure if she could trust him cause Matt literally asked her “you can trust us you ready to get back to work ?”

Bernthal's acting in this and the Punisher show is... pure class. Going to be fun watching this with you all. Also, sidenote, love how you throw out off the wall theories and Caleb is just always like, "Mhmm, yeah, maybe?" It makes me smile. You all are awesome.

Karen did not tell Matt that she killed Wesley, no. I mean yeah the things about Punisher are clearly more complex than him being insane, but Matt is so righteous to the point he is very much a martyr. But part of that is why I love his character. These human flaws of imperfection with his selflessness, to an unhealthy degree, makes for such interesting TV. I'm itching for the next release of this season cause man is it good!

Been a while since you guys have watched Daredevil but I'm so glad we're back. And the first few episodes including the two you just watched are absolutely amazing. I never knew much about The Punisher before I watched this season but by the end of it, he definitely became one of my favorite characters from Marvel. And Jon Bernthal’s version of the character being probably the best take on the character. I absolutely can't wait for your guys' reaction to the next two episodes. They are some of my favorite from the show and they are both pretty heavy episodes. Really curious to hear your thoughts on both

Kingpin was originally Spider-Mans villain and later became shared villain with Daredevil. He appears occasionally as villain for other New York based heroes. Spider-Man and Daredevil are both in New York but Spider-Man is all around New York and some times even New Jersey since it is easy for him to travel far distances fast with his webbing. Daredevil is mostly in Hell's Kitchen and Manhattan. And best place to start reading Spider-Man is from beginning. Early comics follow much more linear timeline and it isn't that confusing to follow. If you want only to read best stories then just google it.

It's kind of funny that Hell's Kitchen is depicted as a working class neighborhood when it's one of the most expensive areas in NYC. Maybe Marvel's NYC has diverged from our own, where working class people can still afford to live there. That's just me nitpicking. It's a great show, and I love that he freed to dog, and bandaged it.

I believe it's implied that the state of Hell's Kitchen is because of the aftermath of the "Incident." The alien destruction of whole swaths of New York threw the neighborhood into poverty in its wake. Then corrupt government officials and other criminal elements swooped in to take advantage of the situation, causing the area to continue to degenerate. The rich people who lived there most likely either moved out and/or further exploited the people there.

Yay! Loved y’all’s reaction, and really excited for y’all to see the rest of the season!

For the Spider-Man topic (if you were wondering in fiction why he's never there, if not I'm way off the mark sorry), MCU did not have a Spider-Man at the time, Sony had exclusive rights to the character. Both previous Spideys weren't connected to the MCU. Tom Holland's Spidey was introduced in Captain Ameriica: CIvil War,, which takes place in universe in 2016, 2 years after Daredevil Season 1 takes place in universe) and had just recently started fighting crime. So at the time of the Netflix shows, he wasn't there yet either in fiction. For the comics though, that's often something that is the butt of jokes, that sometimes X character should be there. But often there are appearances though (in comics) at least!

I'm just impressed with Meg almost completely reconstructing the Punisher's origin story using Batman's as a template.
