I'm not the biggest fan of some re-designs in The New Batman Adventures but Scarecrow design change was a massive improvement over the Animated Series.

I love how they made Scarecrow scary asf in this redesign love this show! Your getting so closer to Justice League show Meg cant wait ^^ almost done with Bats then gotta finish Superman soo much happens you aint ready for Superman S3 XD.

I was waiting for this one! Meg so you probably were told by this but clearly the writers of BTAS were given the ok to tell more mature stories which includes making the villains more darker/violent such as with Two Face & Freeze and Scarecrow is no exception. What I mean is the way he looks and the writers explained behind the scenes that apparently Crane was sentence to death hence the rope wrapped around his neck. It’s unknown whether he survived or is actually undead or that’s what he believes happened to him because one writer teased saying “is it even a suit?” 👀😧 dang….

The Amazing Webhead

Also keep watch for Batman because you’ll notice he’s being more jaded and less willing to help his enemies as the series goes on. It’s kind of how he was portrayed in the comics for a time. :)

He's also not as balanced as he used to be in the last two seasons.

That non-fear gas was definitely taking a toll on Batman for a while there and I'm glad Robin tied his ass up when he did and then managed to give him the antidote in time.

This was an amazing episode! Out of all the character redesigns in this show, Scarecrow's is probably the best out of all of them. One of my favorite looks for him as he actually looks terrifying. I think what's also scary is how similar to his look in Arkham Knight, it seems like the mask is part of his face instead of being an actual mask that he takes off. And I agree with the ominous music that plays with Scarecrow. It's so good. This episode was also really good showing how some people can act without fear, including Batman. Showing that with no fear, Batman was willing to kill. It's why as Batman said, “a little fear is good thing.” Cause you're right that if Batman realized that he killed someone or even just threatened to kill someone, it would scare him and he wouldn't know what to do with himself. But I can't wait for the next episode. I think it's another one you're going to love. Also I can't wait for when you finish season 2 of STAS. We're so close and I can't wait for you to be blown away at the end of it and for when you start S3

Also I know you mentioned this in your Tales of the Jedi reaction about mixing in reactions to other shows and readalongs to comics like the Darth Vader one you've been reading. For the DC shows you’ve been watching, if you want, you can start the Green Lantern Animated series to watch something different as it's not connected to the same shows as BTAS and STAS. Also I know I recommended Batman: War on Crime, Superman: For all Seasons, and Kingdom Come for future readalongs, but I also wanted to recommend it to Caleb as well if he's interested in wanting to read them too as all three are just fantastic stories to read. But it's obviously up to you as I don't want to overwhelm you with more stuff since you're already reacting to a lot of stuff as is and also balancing your gaming stuff

'Fear is power' -Scarecrow Excellent episode, one of S3's best. Amazing what Scarecrow can accomplish by reversing his usual fear schtick. This is probably the costume that inspired his 'Leatherface' look in Arkham Knight. In that game we do get confirmation that Bats' greatest fear is himself losing control. Great moment for Tim Drake too, having to swallow his own fear and go against Bruce. Never saw the Luke/Anakin comparison before but now I do. Try not to be too scared at your doctor's appointment <3

I’m gonna give you a road map because it might get confusing. It's going to tell you what films and shows to watch in what order and when. There are a couple outliers that are in their own separate universe. I’ll put those in a section too. The First DC Animated Universe: Batman: The animated Series Superman: The animated Series Batman Beyond Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (Must watch, after the 3rd and final season of the show before watching Justice League) Justice League Justice League Unlimited Superman: Brainiac Attacks (Don't have to watch but can) Static Shock ( Don’t have to watch but can, part of this universe) Justice League vs. the fatal Five The Second DC animated Universe Justice league: flashpoint paradox Justice League: War Son of Batman Justice League: Throne of Atlantis Batman vs Robin Batman: Bad Blood Justice League vs Teen Titans Justice League Dark Teen Titans: The Judas Contract Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay The Death of Superman Constantine: City of Demons Reign of the Supermen Batman: Hush Wonder Woman: Bloodlines Justice League Dark: Apokolips War The 3rd DC animated universe( The Tomorrowverse) Superman: Man of Tomorrow Justice Society: World War II Batman: The Long Halloween – Parts One and Two ( You’ve seen already) Green Lantern: Beware My Power Legion of Super-Heroes Justice League: Warworld Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three( Not out Yet) The end of this Universe Outliers DC Showcase: Green Arrow ( Must Watch) DC Showcase: Catwoman (Must Watch) Justice League: Doom (Must Watch) Justice League: crisis on infinite Earths (Must Watch) Superman: Red Son Superman: Unbound Batman: Brave and the bold( Show) Young Justice( Show) (Must watch) You can skip the arrowverse CW shows. They’re not worth it. (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legend of tomorrow, Batwoman, Black Lightning)

This episode reminds me of Batman's first appearances going all the way back to 1939 when he was not only violent, but he was killing without any mercy or fear. In 1940 we saw the introduction of Dick Grayson Robin, which also happened to be point in which Batman stopped killing and turned down the level of violence. Since that introduction there has been this idea that Robin exists to help prevent Batman from going to far, and this episode utilizes that idea perfectly.

Yeah, this was a definitely a really good Robin episode! He’s got a few really good episodes coming up! And of all the redesigns for this season of the show, Scarecrow definitely has the best! As a kid, I was just like.. whoa! lol And I always liked this premise, too. A Batman without fear is a scary thing to imagine, and Kevin plays it so well!
