I agree with the other comments saying basically the same thing I’m going to. I personally don’t think that the acolyte is very good, but it’s not worth getting mad at anybody over, and I honestly sincerely am happy for anyone who enjoys the show. I just don’t. However, I will say plenty of people do think the vampire diaries is a bad show.

I don’t like the show myself but it has fantastic saber fights/choreography

Yeah I kinda felt similar. I'm glad you decided to check this out and form your own opinion. The High Republic books are also pretty good 👍 Kinda hoping we get a High Republic video game similar to how we had the Tales of The Jedi comics and then years later had the Knights of The Old Republic games.

I managed to sit through 2 episodes of this, which I consider to be quite an achievement.

Most of the discourse online comes from the people on the adore or hate side of things. But I think most of us had the same feeling as Caleb. It's not hate worthy, but it had so much potential and just wasted it, even the fights felt like they carried less weight and emotion than we've seen in other star wars media (I still can't put my finger on why). At the end of it all I considered it at best a 5/10 show for me. It should have been a much better show than it was.

Ooooooooooooooo, a KOTOR style rpg set in the High Republic could be amazing if done right! I’d also love to see them take the Jedi: Fallen Order/Survivor formula and give us the option to make our own high republic Jedi! - Caleb

I'd honestly say the first two episodes are the weakest. I honestly thought it got better as it went on as it started filling in more details but there were things they could have done, obviously knowing how it all plays out, in these first two episodes that could have been a better hook. I would say stick with it and give the entire season a shot. It's a solid 7 to 8 out of 10 for me but it does need to be watched in full.

I feel like the second half of the series is stronger, once the story gets going, and in the end there are some great new ideas throughout. At least she tried for some things we hadn't seen before. I think it takes a master storyteller to deliver a masterpiece, and before someone is a master it's possible to aim higher than your reach. I think there's a bit of that going on. I appreciate the reach but I also calibrated my expectations once I got used to the show. For me it probably ended up a 6.5/10 with the .5 being for some key ideas being tried. Lee Jung-jae, however, is a treasure. He does more subtle acting with his facial expressions alone than most actors do with their whole body.
