The addition of Cassidy is completely original to the show. In the comics, Firefly had a pretty tragic and abusive childhood, which led him and his sister being sent to an orphanage. Eventually as he got older his compulsion to set fires turned into him becoming a pyromaniac obsessed with fire. They obviously don't show it due to how dark it would be but in the comics, his reason for wearing the jetpacked fireproof suit is basically due to him basically doing what he wanted to do at the end of this episode, which was burning Gotham down but the difference is that he accidentally starts the fire at the chemical factory they are at and he becomes horribly scarred with burns on 90 percent of his body (exactly like how he is in the Arkham games). That's when he develops the suit that you see him wear in the episode. But I'm glad you watched this episode! I know you're not going to be reacting to the next 5 episodes but I hope we can hear your thoughts on it on discord like you did with Double Talk. I can't wait for when you react to Old Wounds though. That's definitely one of my favorite episodes of the series. We are so close to finishing the series and then moving on to Batman Beyond. Also I love how much of a coincidence it was that Batman had a fireproof suit. I assume he had it made in case he ever had to deal with big fires or a pyromaniac like Firefly lol. Batman having a specialized suit reminds me of the XE suit he used in Arkham Origins to fight Mr. Freeze. But it makes sense as Bruce usually has a bunch of different suits in the cave like in the comics. But I’m glad you’re finally back with these DC reactions and again I can't wait for Old Wounds!!

That Firefly was a real fire maniac that's for sure. Also I'm still looking forward to seeing you watch Justice League TAS/Unlimited and Static Shock!

I like Nightwish too ;) Firefly has always been a one-dimensional pyromaniac with a good gimmick. Adding an ex-girlfriend (a former 'flame') to the mix fails to make him any less of a creep. Still, I like that S3 doesn't just fall back on the old stable of villains and isn't afraid to introduce some new ones like Calendar Girl. There's another new one in The Ultimate Thrill, but I understand why you're skipping so many. This season is very hit or miss but its hits are excellent.
