I looked up “hand of malevolence” and it is a reference to a Jewish prayer about violence done to worshippers and a house of worship… this makes me cautiously optimistic that Yorick is building a defense against the witch’s children

If the sound came from within the mist, that means John can't accurately see the origin point. At best they could run right by it and at worst they could run right into it. Not to mention Arthur has a nack for that loud breathing and Yorick isn't exactly quiet. The thing is clearly attracted to sound so theoretically just hiding somewhere quietly should keep them safe.

Just because we heard one creature doesn't mean there aren't more. Hunting in packs is common. And just because the noise drew it in doesn't mean that's the monster's strongest sense. Is it wrong to be slightly relieved that we're back to the basic "run or hide" options instead of "sleep or sleep"? 🙃
