At least now we know that John's situation isn't something unique to him, he was probably lucky enough to end up with someone to help him evolve. Also I think we should head down to the basement, learning more about the family doesn't seem very useful at the moment. I feel like we are getting dangerously close to running out of time on the stone thing and the basement seems to hold more answers on that front.

What I like a lot about Oscar, mechanically, is he's around to notice the stuff John doesnt (to say nothing of his memory issues) which makes one wonder just how much has gone unnoticed when it was just the two of them. And not not visually noticing stuff, but interpreting physical evidence in a way as som nonhuman entity such as himself can interpret it

I really don’t think time is a concern right now regarding the house investigation. Exploring tends to produce valuable results and context, and if there’s a diary or similar that seems more likely to be upstairs than the basement. Since John didn’t see the basement hatch it makes me think there’s something particularly spooky / significant down there, so I’d like to take care of checking out the potentially more mundane spaces first, before getting swept away in the momentum of spooks.
