Love the “two guys shows the importance of open, honest and thoughtful communication” episodes!! (Almost as much as the “two guys demonstrates the disaster that is a lack of communication in high stress situations”)

BeastlyDeath

I mean grabbing the book will take maybe 5 minutes tops? And we do need whatever info we can on scratch. It'd be better to have the book and go down than regret not having it while we're in the basement on limited time

Amy

This podcast is just…it’s so good. I have no words. It’s just. So. GOOD.

Erik

Listen to the boy FOR ONCE and just go get the book. This is (re)building trust 101. Humor his proposal if nothing else than for the sake of humoring it, and resist the urge to immediately sideline him, just this once. Put your money where your mouth is and let him work towards solving this. How can he redeem himself if he isn't ever allowed to impact anything? That would be to condemn him to being eternally bad by robbing him of the influence to even enact any good.

Erik

Most valuable lesson. This podcast should be on prescription against toxic masculinity.

We know John read the Forgotten Ones bestiary entry before and didn't tell Arthur about it. He might well have something specific that he remembers and wants to look up and share. I wouldn't put it past John to have read about some weakness or other bit of useful info in the bestiary and hidden it from Arthur to protect himself.

Troll Kitty

Ok real question though, how the heck is Arthur able to drive???

Nicky

I don’t think he has read anything about Forgotten Ones. I took his comment about “I’ve read it, I know what he means” as related to how the book is written being a bit unclear and challenging, not specific content (“from what I can gather and understand, this isn’t exactly scientific…”

Nicky

John drives. He has the eyes to see, hand/arm to steer, and toes/foot for pedals, and can tell Arthur if he needs him to do anything additional (shift, clutch/pedal, etc)

Brie

I feel somewhat uneasy that this conversation is happening at the BEGINNING of the episode...

Vai Russ

While calling him a child is a bit demeaning, Arthur definitely has a point. It's only been a few months, and this is the first time John's had to deal with sharing Arthur's attention for an extended period of time. Other than the stuff with the Fallen Star (different can of worms), of course he'd deceive, manipulate, and lash out at Arthur. As the King he never had anything he cared about, and now having to share the one thing he cares about? Yeah, he's going to respond as a child would.

Dizzy-Day

Oof John. Though I suppose his jealousy keeps the cast down heh. Gonna miss Oscar. Arthur is gonna grind himself to dust for his friend.
