Arthur apologizing to Yellow was everything to me. This is why I love Arthur, this is why I love this show. Yellow deserved better. John deserved to hear that too. Arthur telling Yellow that Larson is using him is manipulative and honest and caring all at once. He's treating Yellow like a child that he hurt, who ran away and got caught up in a bad crowd. I wouldn't fault Yellow for being resentful towards John; why did John get Arthur as a friend, why does Noel treat John kindly but not him; what does John have that he doesn't? I don't even think he understands his pain, and how his lashing out (admittedly, in godly proportions) and his quest for power seems to be largely a way to protect himself (bc no one can hurt you when you're powerful, right). Is it really too late for him? I feel so sorry. And then Noel, above and beyond, forgiving Arthur and seeing John for who he is--the heart in these characters brings me to tears.

Oh Wow, I never thought about it like that. That Yellow could be resentful/jealous towards John because he has what Yellow tried to obtain. Like trust and loyalty and safety in those around you. Something that power is hardly an adequate substitute for, long-term. Literally from the instance he came to Earth Yellow has been compared to John- understandably, from Arthur's point of view, but for someone without memories it's very jarring. And even with Larson, their plans involve reclaiming John for even more power, like Yellow wasn't enough for him. Even though they're the same person, they have been treated very differently and it's very interesting to see that impact. :)

Neither option guarantees death or protection. To me, the most narratively satisfying/character-fitting option is for Arthur and Noel to go together and Butcher guard the rear. They are both detectives, used to working with a partner, and each have personal business with Yellow. Butcher is used to working alone, pulling off incredibly terrifying feats, including (COC Witches Mark SPOILERS) taking down an entire coven of witches on his own while the Black Goat entity they worship was manifested as well. He would be more effective and have way more fun than Noel against the ~6 supernaturally intelligent Elder things still on their tail (and however many more may be around or summoned to help) and have a hell of a lot more fun with that than going back against Larson and Yellow, with all their talking. Bonus fun fact, the first iteration of Dennis Collins aka The Butcher was in Running Dead Redux on Invictus Stream. SPOILER: it ended with him as the only survivor of an intended TPK and climbing into the walls with the intent to kill EVERYONE. Not putting him in the position of being solo, outnumbered against an overpowered group of opponents feels wasteful 😆

AAAAAAAAA Oh my GOD. I both love and hate this. First off, Larson, you piece of garbage, you deserve it, and for the record his name *is* John. Second: I just knew Arthur would find a way out! Appealing to Yellow was a move I was sure as hell not expecting. This is inSANE! Again, you've fed us well. This finale is going to be one to remember for sure!

I love how it makes you think about how people (and eldritch kings) turn out based on how they're treated. It's fascinating to consider, especially since, as you've said, they are the same person, just split in half. Yellow was never what Arthur wanted, not really. The whole time he wanted it to be John in his head. For a being with no memories, that's rough. From the start all he knew was that he wasn't Arthur's first choice; he wasn't John and that was all that mattered. The first time he heard someone speak about gods and higher beings, he was hooked. I wonder if that was in part due to Arthur's disrespect and dismissal of him

Wait so does Yellow have KIY or John's memories since leaving Arthur? How'd Yellow know about the sleeping city when he didn't know who he was/had no memories of being John when Kayne put him in Arthur's head? 😂 Loving the mental image of post-split Yellow just spilling the tea on Arthur to Larson.
